I would of kept some of chicken stock for the in the black beans and rice but keep sone the frozen veggies...as U can't eat only black bean and rice yucky...😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Thank you for giving me some tips and advice on cooking i would like to give you a life line of mine if you don't mind. If you google Eat well for less then you should get some recipes that might give you a few ideas. thank you again for all that you share and bless us with.
You can microwave sweet potatoes to soften & the give them a little color for a min or two in the skillet. Dipping bananas in melted chocolate chips & freezing is also a great way to feel decadent on a pantry challenge too!
I use brown sugar,Worcestershire, sauce some mustard and ketchup and sometimes a little tomato paste and water in my sloppy joes and a chopped up onion , celery and garlic . We love them . I double or triple it and break it into freezer bags for when I don’t feel like cooking. Freeze them flat so more space and easy to thaw. The bread looks good! Thank you ! 🌸🦋🌸
If you had browned up the onions more and then added in your flour to the fat left in your skillet ( makes a dark brown roux), adds depth of flavor and color to the gravy. If you had a bouillon cube or granulated bouillon you could have added that to the gravy to have given it a little extra beef flavor…or could have added little water to your back pan and brought it to a boil removing essence of beef flavor from it to add to your gravy. Plus a little garlic salt or garlic powder will boost the flavor up too. Mushrooms cooked along with the beef patties will also add a beefy flavor too… especially baby portobellos. Then if you have enough gravy leftover you can use it to make a beef pot pie, shepherds pie or in a beef, mushroom and potato soup or make beef stroganoff out of it by adding in just a few ingredients for another meal.
Your son is adorable!! Girl nobody needs to be judging anyone! Everything looked delicious!! I don’t know how you cooked after finding that snake. I’d been keeled over! My grandmother got bit by a chicken snake like that. Hope the bread maker does work. I was looking for 1 but all of the ones I found at thrift store were 25 and 30 bucks.❤❤
I have that same bread maker. I like it but I'm new to making bread. I also want to let you know that it will vibrate off the counter while mixing, so be sure to keep an eye on it. Mine is loud too. mine also came with recipes and one of them did have honey in the recipe.
If you think something is freezer burned, rinsing the ice off sometimes helps because it isn't thawing and soaking up the bad tasting drained liquid. Try pourable no kneed dough to help save time. Set your bowl in the sink and then the handmixer will only get the sink messy.
Lane is so adorable! I appreciate your honesty about your struggles to get things accomplished. Your efforts to take care of your family, animals, housework and cooking for your family takes a lot of time, effort and energy. You still find time to video and share your shopping, cooking and struggles with everyday chores. Thank you! I look forward to each and every video you share. May God Bless you and your family. I also appreciate your Bible reading and your scripture messages on your t-shirts.
If you have an upright freezer, it helps to put like things together. I put all the chicken homemade stock on the top shelf, chicken on the 2nd, beef on the 3rd, pork on the bottom, bags of veg and fruit in the door and the basket holds the wieners, lunchmeat and whatnot.
Baskets help us with each kind of meat. When the container is full, we don't buy more. It helps to keep it so things don't get wasted and falling iut everywhere.
You always make me smile, and you motivate me to stick with my plan to keep meals simple! My Momma was such a great example, and I feel like I fall short. I console myself that she lived in a normal suburban home, didn’t work outside the home and didn’t need to have a hip replacement. My life is a bit different with horses, chickens, geese, dogs, cats, a huge 160+ year old house…but then, I chose this life, so no whining! I bought the Pullman bread pan you featured and I’m not proud to say I have not used it yet - I think it’s time to unearth my bread machine and at least use it for the dough cycle. Thank you for being so down to earth and real! There are some channels that are truly intimidating. Yours feels like a visit with a dear friend.❤
Great price on the bread maker! If you can't get the noise to stop you can always paint it pink and put some ears a nose and a curly tail on it and call it your little piggy bread maker. 🤣😂 You can try to oil it first. How to Apply Oil to the Shaft If your bread machine isn’t working and it’s making strange noises, it might be time to apply oil to the shaft. The shaft should be oiled every 6 months to keep the bread machine in good working order. However, if you use your bread machine more than once a week, you might find it better to oil the shaft even more often. Some of the lubricants I recommend using to oil the shaft are: 3-in-1 oil. Sewing machine oil. Here’s how to oil your bread machine’s shaft: Turn the bread pan over. Squeeze a couple of drops of oil between the shaft and the retaining ring. Turn the ring a couple of times. Squeeze a couple more oil drops between the shaft and the retaining ring. Return the bread pan to the bread maker and use it normally. Good luck! 💖
I always had the same issue with my rice. I stopped buying enriched white rice and starting buying Jasmine rice and basmati rice. The flavor is so much better and better for you. Here is how I do it...I put rice in pot, put some water in it. You have enough water and not too much when the tip of your pinky is touching the rice and the first crease of your pinky is covered with water. Cook on high until it starts to boil. Once it's boiling, turn down the heat to low, cover, and set a timer for ten minutes. After ten minutes, turn off the heat, uncover it, and let it cool. Once it's cooled, fluff with fork. I learned this from a chef show that I watched and he changed my rice game haha Hope it helps you too! Oh, he did say to rinse your rice 3 or 4 times but that's not for me and it still turns out perfect for me everytime :)
When I make bread in My bread machine I use just dough setting when done I pull it out and use a regular bread pan Like the shape alot better that way.
Lane is talking so much! Such a sweet little voice. Have you ever tried to make sweet potato fries? Cut them a little smaller than you did, sprinkle with oil and throw them in the air fryer. Add salt when they are done. YUM!
@@homemadesimplewithlori You are not! We love your recipe ideas. Rice is hard for everyone -- my grown sons like rice, and they all have rice cookers or use an Instant Pot.
No salt in candid yams, I cook onions in butter and save drippings for gravy. Mom . every meal look delicious and you give me incentive to clean out my pantry which means no groceries bought here for a while❤❤❤❤❤❤. Great video! Especially the one with Lane❤️
Add that corn liquid to a large freezer container and keep adding mild vegs to it for "free" veg stock. It will also substitute for the milk in gravy. Sure, gravy will taste different but it isn't bad.
I like your videos because you are genuine . Mistakes happen, we all do the best we can so know your viewers appreciate you. A can of Green Beans at Walmart is $.64. It is not 16 ounces . So, if you use a pound of green beans you could multiply $.64x 2 = $1.28 or $.32/ person. My hair is thinning too I will try to use bone broth more often. Please update us on how it works for you.
I’ve been trying to save money on groceries and one of the things I’ve been reminding myself is that the food I’ve already purchased is money already spent, and rather than buying more food at the store I’ve been trying to make dinner from the pantry/freezer. I haven’t been as organized as I should have been, but this week went really well!
Wow! You’re really going back to the beginning. I would be afraid to rewatch this video 😂😂😂 no telling how it turned out 😂😂😂. I remember those days, though. I wasn’t sure of myself in front of the camera AT ALL. I would rehearse every single point over and over again. Anyway, thanks for watching. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
