Thanks for this and especially the link to the o rings. Got them and it worked perfectly. I agree with you on the long term viability of knocking the metal pin out of plastic tho. It's a shame Zulu did such a poor job on designing this hinge when the rest of the bottle is so good. BTW, I wrote Zulu and got back nothing. I'll use these bottles until I have a complete failure, but will never buy another Zulu product again.
I got another 'O' ring on, but it must have been poor quality as it broke soon enough. So I've just used some 2.5mm shock, bungee elastic chord and just tied a simple cross over knot inside the lid, which allows you to pull it open to the desired size with this knot, but still holds being elastic. Doesn't get in the way at all. Not sure if shock chord elastic will stand up to dishwasher cleaning, so I just plan on hand washing, easy enough!
Like many RU-vid viewers, I sought a solution to my rubber gasket breaking on my Zulu water bottle lid. I found a couple where they linked to this product with many gaskets. The item came in as expected and as what was listed. Uxcell did not claim to fix my problem, so I do not blame that company. However, DO NOT BUY THIS if you are having the same problem I did, as it only lasts 6-7 days of use and then breaks again. This simply does not work. Tried it 3 times and 6 days later it broke again. If there is a solution besides continually buying a $7 lid replacement, please let me know. But don't buy for the Zulu water bottle lid problem. It is a defect in the Zulu line. I will just use my bottle without the gasket. I still like my water bottle and I hoped that this would work, but it didn't.
Thank you so much! I knew this had to be an easy fix and I do have my replacement ones coming but I also ordered the Orings! I’ll definitely through the lids in the dishwasher washer now that I know I can replace those so easily. 😃
Thank you so much for this! I just purchased this fridge and it was making a loud buzzing noise and I couldn’t figure out why. I opened up the fan like you did and the fan was out of the housing, just hanging there. Now it’s nice and silent! Simple fix, thank you!
