He can infuse his improvisations with the madcap kinetic energy of a Tom and Jerry cartoon chase scene, then pull the amorous heartstrings with a tender ballad.
Collaborated with: cellist Yo-Yo Ma; pianist W.A. Mathieu; The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra; created vocal choirs such as on VOCAbuLarieS; delved deep into the Negro spiritual canon on 'spirityouall'.
Nearly 40 years after winning his first GRAMMY, McFerrin’s continued boundless musicality is a true embodiment of artistic freedom.
I wish that everyone who hears this could hear this psalm as I listen, twenty-five years after my mother died in hope of the resurrection. This beautiful words capture only the trailing glory that was her life here on earth. I wish that didn’t sound so ‘romantic’, but I can not find the right words to tell you how permanent and real her love for everyone, so clearly seen by her children, was and is.
The merging of three postings: 05:00 Nice. Lovely. I like it. 05:44 The way the young singer chooses her tones reminds me of Fever sung by Buddy Guy. Oh, she’s Bobby’s daughter: a happy father!
I am sorry your God is so small, to be upset about he or she. This God made 200 billion trillon stars (latest estimate) and knows the numbet of hairs on your head.
Dear Bobby, ten years or more ago, you were leading a smaller version of this at Omega Institute. I was there for another singing event (Ecstatic Chant). As we were both walking from our airbnb down to the venue, I kept looking at you as you looked familiar lol. And it struck me, ah, you are a guy I went to grad school with. As I said something like "so are you here for the chanting?" You said, yes I guess you could say that, and you humbly played a long for awhile, and we had a lovely conversation. Then at some point I had an OHHHH... omg, now I recognize who you are. Watching this, I remember the lovely connection, your kind, authentic, and natural way of being. Wish I had been able to share your event there as well. What a beautiful gift you are to this world! 🙏🏼💗

😎ALL GOOD but SADLY the only other person of color I saw of ALL THOSE PEOPLE, had a T-shirt blocking his face...subtle and organized beyond recognition but this performance was BEAUTIFUL and God was there that day I'm sure. R.I.P Robin Williams ❤🌍☮️
Yep I think those women singing became pregnant before they left the stage. You could sense the immaculate transfer. Hips don’t move like that for no reason 💀💀💀
Came back to this after 3 years because I remembered how beautiful it was and how inspiring Bobby is in continuing to be creative and inspiring others in spite of his health problems. This performance loosened a knot in my heart. Wonderful.
Every once in a while whenever things get so dark it consumes me. I remember this song to feel the beauty in this world. To feel the beat in my heart and revitalize my mind. Thank you so much 💜🌱☮🌐
