Being in a toxic, abusive family ever since I was born up until the age of 15, I never really wanted to live. Even as a young kid. I'd say things that most children would never say about their own life. But my grandma showed me bobby mcferrin as a lullaby song and he's always calmed me down. Everytime I got mad or sad at something, I'd always hum the melody of one particular song by him that I don't think I'll ever even hear again..it calmed me. Made me feel so much better. I'm now 15, living with my mom and her family. They're not toxic. They love me for me and that's all I've ever needed. And to bobby mcferrin? Thank you so much for getting me through the hardest year I think I'll ever have. You are a blessing to this world and we all love you so so so much. Thank you...😇🙏
I'm sorry you grew up in that environment, but I'm glad you're in a better situation now! I feel the same way about all of Bobby McFerrin's music. When I was really young, I remember hearing a lullaby-like song by him that calmed me down too. Maybe it's the same one you're thinking of. For some lucky reason, I remembered the name, which is "Common Threads." Even if it isn't the song you're thinking of, I think you'll love it if you love his music.
I was just thinking about my really traumatic childhood and my cousin said I would always sing Bobby Mcferrin’s songs. I would always tell everyone “don’t worry be happy” He was so major in my childhood. I appreciate him so much
I remember listening to Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy" as a kid, then I stumbled across more of his music. This is art. It's soulful and chill. This man is a genius.
He sure is! Have you watched the vid with him scatting Spain with Chic Corea? That just blows my mind! If you are not familiar with the song Spain, compare it to Al Jarreau singing it... then listen to McFerrin scat it...Unbelievable! This man is music!
My son studied with him and the Voicestra at Omega Institute. I think he would say that it was life-changing. What a beautiful musician, inside and out.
I'm so digging this. From jazz to classical, to every genre in between, I believe him to be the most uniquely skilled vocalist of this generation. A true musician...
There are some musicians that simply transcend so far beyond the shoddy scene of what is considered "talent" today that there is no comparison. Bobby McFerrin is one of those. To me, he understands -truly understands - the power of music from the soul. He needs no autotune, no ridiculous levels of boosted equalization, nor any other garbage effects employed by the latest pop tarts for profit. And this is coming from an old hard-rocking Metalhead. :)
Hey, hey, say Ladeo Time for taking words away The melody will tell the story As we go along Riding a wave of a thousand stories Starlit journeys of morning glories Where your long lost dreams are suddenly awake Summoning a prayer, didn't even know was there Say Ladeo A song becomes a thousand songs Hey, hey, say Ladeo Time we took the words away We're getting to somewhere closer That's hidden inside Words only take you so far and leave you Wondering just what it was you meant to Say what you would say if your heart led the way Take away the words, letting all the sounds just play Say Ladeo A song becomes a thousand songs And each and every heart Brings life and times and rhymes along All the dreams you never knew were there Sound and feeling, melody and prayer Say Ladeo Words only take you so far and leave you Wondering what it was you meant to Say what you would, say what you would Say if you could let your heart just lead the way Say Ladeo A song becomes a thousand songs A prayer becomes a song So sing out loud or whisper low
@@Elixear you know the sing day Bobby McFerrin performed in. I want every song name on the pertcuilar video and the language he sang. If you you know please inform me
Love this whole record. Also I was husking once and he came up too me and gave me $20 bill once and walked away without saying a world. Big fan forever.
This guy has always been in a class all by himself. No one is a greater vocalist than Bobby. The sounds he makes, his vocal range, his creativity, he goes where no one has thought to go with vocal arrangements and style. He is the only person I've ever heard of that can sing two notes and harmonize with himself........enough said.
I remember getting this album when I was in college, studying IT. I am a huge hiphop head and I was friend with the most metal dude you could imagine. I played this on my phone and he said this is the best thing ever. Thanks for the great memories, Bobby :D PS. You are one of the reasons I started to beatbox.
I heard this song last night after listening to "Don't Worry Be Happy". This song is THE ABSOLUTE BEST! Everything about it is just so chill and has the best vibes. Makes me instantly happy. Heard it at least 10 times now. Lol. Wow. Also the nature sounds in the back. Peaceful! ✌️❤️
I am a big fan of Bobby and also of Lisa Fischer...it's her voice that is floating around like a breeze in this song, there are many singers on the album "Vocabularies" where this song comes from; there are 55, fifty five!!, different singers on the 7 songs on the album. On this song "Ladeo" there is Bobby of course singing lead, but he also sings"soprano"; and then Lisa, that I hear more than the others, she sings "alto" and! "soprano" in this song; and Luciana Souza "alto"; and Roger Treece sings "alto" and "soprano" ; Kevin Osborne sings bass; Aubrey Johnson sings soprano; Bonnie Denise Christensen sings soprano, and Rosanna Eckert "soprano"; Alexandra Montano sings "alto" and "soprano"; Gayla Morgan sings "alto" and "soprano"; Kim Nazarian sings "alto" and "soprano"; Darmon Meader sings "tenor"; Licoln Briney "tenor" --- all together 13, thirteen! people on vocal. Here's a link to "Discogs" to check, but you can also check on Wikipedia for the album : www.discogs.com/release/5317535-Bobby-McFerrin-VOCAbuLarieS
My hypothesis is that Morgan Freeman and Bobby McFerrin are brothers with awesome voices... Morgan went to narrating and acting, and Bobby went to music.
I have been a B McF fan since "Spontaneous Inventions" was released, and I recently had the opportunity to see him at the Disney Theater in L A. He is always experimenting with sound in music, and there is a wide variety of styles over the years. My favorite is "Vocabularies" which is just spectacular.
Mr. McFerrin, I love you! This is just like I always imagined God dancing and playing the worlds and starry universe into being! May you be blessed! as you have blessed us all.
Bought the album VOCAbuLarieS just for this song. Cant stop listening to it. So much going on. Love the female vocalist. Crisp, clean quality to their voices. Appreciate comments made here. Helps me understand the experience listening to Bobby.
Bobby do you even KNOW how much I love you? I just really really do. You are a genius and an ambassador from the angels to show us glory. I would really love to sing with you someday.
This is a man who fully understands the joy and power of music. He uses his gift to build spirits and communicate powerful messeges with saying almost nothing. That's TALENT!
That's why it brings harmony in music but we all need harmony in life as well. May be this the reason why, Bobby has the same influence on peoples feelings, no matter which culture or age are they from, cheers and enjoy from italy
Been loving this album for years and didn't know there were videos. I also didn't know Bobby McFerrin could be even more joyful and life affirming. He makes me want to hug everybody, and sometimes I really need that these days. Thank you, Mr. McF.
Hey Mr. McFerrin, for a long time I have been struggling with pretty bad depression and OCD, and listening to your music has given me the lift I needed to lift myself out of sadness and into a much happier and healthier person, I especially love the improvisation from Sing! Day of Song. And I just want to say thank you for being one of my guides out of sorrow and into genuine happiness. Bless you
