The Birthday Fairy Project shines a light on the lives lost in mass shootings in the US by recognizing the birthday of each victim. I post a short bio, a photo, & as appropriate, a few details about the shooting & how it could have been prevented.

Most importantly, The Birthday Fairy Project is inspired by my mom, Wanda Jean Kennedy, The Birthday Fairy. She loved to celebrate others on their birthdays with an exuberant, heartfelt rendition of Happy Birthday & a Toodle-Ooo sign-off. She taught me to be a good person, to do & speak up for what is right, & inspired me to work to make a difference no matter how large or small.

I met Angie when we were at college together at the University of Northern Iowa. She was a sweet, kind, intelligent, and vibrant person. I won't forget her!
