Time to get rid of the chin spoiler protectors! BTW, I own a 2023 Charger GT PLUS and love it! Best DD I ever owned! No regrets getting the GT over a Hemi powered version.
I love my v6 challenger. Its great for long trips for saving gas but still wanting some quickness and speed. Its a great all arounder. One other thing i dont like is the film on the silver part of the steering wheel starts to go after awhile and the film where the cup holders peels after awhile and you gotta replace the trims. Also since the car weighs a lot i had to change my brake discs from the stock ones they warp after awhile. But ive never had even 1 single problem with the engine. Its a fantastic engine.
No doubt the V6 will be more reliable than the V8's, and it's a lot more comfortable for long trips compared to the Mustang. Dodge's interiors aren't really known for being the best but glad to hear you've had a good experience overall. It's definitely a fun car.
Really good review that covers true pros and cons. If I were buying used I'd buy an SXT with plus package and upgrades. Lane assist is huge for these cars as you note. R/T's are far more likely driven hard and Hemi issues are really expensive while rocker arms and other Pentastar problems are fixed in a half day at the shop. But a new R/T is so insanely appealing if you can afford the 38-40K entry price after all the discounts. Camaros and Mustangs are VERY viable options; but I'd agree there is a coolness factor to these Challengers with them going away. --and with them looking so much like the iconic 70 version.
take that plastic engine cover off and the sound of the engine sounds better and the intake runs cooler, the get a hellcat air clear box, take out the two blackouts on the blinkers and get cooled ram air and fresh ram air into the hellcat air cleaner. sounds mean as hell.
Complaining about options that would be available if you simply stepped up from the GT to the GT Plus is a bit disingenuous. If you want a Mustang or Camaro, buy one. Both are much considerably smaller inside and lack the classic muscle car styling. Not a fan of the 10 speed trans in those either, constantly hunting for the right gear.
I just bought a 2023 Challenger GT plus. I agree with some of the things you said but I also disagree with you on some things. I don't mind the 2023 looking just like the 2015. It's a great looking car. In my opinion it's way better looking than the Camaro or the Mustang. Every car manufactures have packages that go with the models. Even the base models. So my package addons included Alcantara performance seats, I have a 8.4 inch touch screen display, Blind spot and cross path detection, Adaptive cruise ( that's your missing buttons on the steering wheel. I have the Plus package, Technology group, GPS Nav and more. I have looked at mustangs and at a camaro before buying this one and everyone had packages that needed to be added if everything you complained was not included. OH get rid of the yellow splitter protectors. They are only on there for protection while shipping. If left on it will leave marks in the splitter. And I love my Challenger GT Plus, It's a great car. I think you could have done better on this review. You won't get a thumps up from me.
Fair points. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your Challenger though. I will say, once you get into the R/T models all those dislikes I mentioned don't even matter lol. It's a lot of fun having a V8.
