When you pop into the story, it should be your natural voice we hear talking with your characters. The made up voices should be for characters in the story. When you are being you than be you. When you are a part of tge story, be a voice for that character.

Loved this video. I've not read the book(though you may have convinced me to), but my wife and I occasionally watch both film adaptations that you showed. I very much appreciate your analysis of Caroline and the consequence of her shenanigans.

Even if this isn’t the polished edited version, it was great to listen to. I’ve had the book for a few months now but I kept getting hung up on the first chapter. This really helped me wrap my head around Caroline’s real world, Caroline’s imagination world when she talks to the characters, and then the fantasy world. I really can’t wait to hear you get to Caroline’s boss.

I for one am extremely interested in hearing you read all of the chapters live!

I would LOVE to hear you read the chapters live, it makes them feel more alive to me. The retakes emphasize exactly how you intend every word to be expressed, and it’s just a lot of fun

I don't think this is a hot take at all. I think this is just a plain reading of the text.

Honestly, just coming fresh out of watching the movie, I really see the three kids being extremely similar to other characters in Disney movies, I'm just too lazy to check if it's those from Robin Hood (animated) or The Aristocats. Probably both 😂

I'm interested! I prefer listening to books instead of reading them. I struggle with reading things and so I save my reading energy for technical stuff. I prefer to listen to fiction. Especially when the reader is really good. (And yes, that was a complement.😄)

I also want to note that Darcy enjoys a good debate. One of the reasons he's so bowled over by Lizzie's rejection is because he was under the impression they were flirting this whole time with their arguments. Caroline is willing to tease him, but not really to engage. When he pushes back, she immediately capitulates or changes the subject instead of "crossing swords" with him the way Lizzie does.

Late comment I know, but here goes. While not from there, I know a lot of people from Pennsylvania, as such I think I have one idea why your book is so warmly received there. As most people have been informed at this point, the United States is a remarkably large country and as such there are a lot of cultural differences between areas and subcultures. It might be slightly less well known that one of these differences is sense of humor. Some of our various humor styles are more compatible than others. Example: I currently live in an area of the western US that doesn’t seem to find self deprecation, telling embarrassing stories on oneself, or sarcasm as funny. Some people do, but most of them are not originally from here, like myself. The majority of people from this area take such things extremely literally! As a result, I have to be a little bit careful with those kind of jokes or risk being even more socially awkward than normal. 😂 If anyone misses that joke and jumps into the comments to reassure me of my worth, that person is probably from the area I am talking about!!!😂 The people I know from Pennsylvania have a sense of humor that is very similar to yours. I can absolutely see them enjoying the humor in your book and being very amused by it. The people from where I live now would be absolutely furious with Caroline and not see her well intended, but obvious meddling funny. I myself, find it hilarious!!!❤
