St Augustine once said, "The World Is a Book and Those Who Do Not Travel Read Only One Page". As a professional photographer I love to travel. As a husband and father of three, I like to keep that travel as simple as possible. I try to get as close to the heart of the people as I can capture on film. This channel is a bit eclectic. It's all travel related, but one week I might be in East Africa flying in a bush plane, and the next week I might be back home camping with my kids and flying my drone. The basic gist of this channel is traveling simply and finding authenticity wherever I go. #travel #travelingsimply #travelvlog #travelingwithadrone #beaufortsc #Southsudan #Ethiopia #worldtravel #drone
The various plans for this Morris Island Light wii, DEFINITELY, make you shake your head. One plan was to make the surrounding area into a subdivision. Another was to make the light a tourist attraction. From what I've been told, the current in that is VERY DANGEROUS!! A tour boat would catch hell trying to dock, and stay anchored at that dock. Another plan was to restore the light. A late reporter that I knew from the Post and Courier told me that the interior had rotted away, and, was now, an outdoor privy for birds and bats.😮😮😮😮
It's only been in the last few years that WHOMEVER cleared the overgrowth on Castle Pinckney. Until then, by viewing it from, or, a observation point , it looked like A BIG GREEN MOUND. I have pictures of when it was used as a Union POW camp after First Bull Run(Manassas). Always amazed me what used to be under that mound.😮😮😮😮
I recognized Lake Madison right away. I was a counter sniper at that airport when a President visited and was just off the runway where you turned to take off. Pretty cool to see the area again!
Thank you for sharing ; the cinematography is quite stunning. I’ve visited most of these places but you’ve revealed some real gems that I’ll have to visit. The Beaufort Pickle Factory has piqued my interest - is it being restored?
Thanks. I think it's pretty unlikely that the pickle factory will be restored. I heard that the fire department had used it for fire practice, so the structure is unsound for rebuilding.
When I was in flight training in Canada way back a long time ago, I did my required x country in a Tri pacer. From St. John N.B. Canada to Sydney N.S and back via Summerside P.E.I. My training was in a tail dragger, a Fleet 80.
The area is pretty motorhome friendly. Downtown Beaufort itself though is probably not. Lots of traffic, narrow roads, and limited places to turn around.
Thanks very much for the informative video. I support 3 refugees from Torit who are going to school in Nairobi. They usually travel by bus to visit relatives in Torit, but now I will re-evaluate their means of transport and consider having them fly home.
Poinsett bridge is named after Joel Roberts Poinsett of Charleston SC who was first Minister to Mexico, Chile and Argentina and who had dealings in Peru. The Christmas Poinsettia is named after him which he brought back from Mexico.
I’m a bit of an adventurer myself, sleeping with Marine Corps wives was my favorite thing to do in Beaufort. Great video makes me wanna go back again 👍
The sad thing is that south sudan had a potential to be a spectacular modern country, but they wasted it all on endless war & probably corruption. So all the fight that their founders fought for is totally wasted. Let's hope that the next generation will work for the good of the country.
@@wollwerthimagery6267 THat is what I thought. Maybe because of the war. ALL the people that I met from South Sudan were so beautiful and their skin color is just wow!
The only place where I truly had to deal with a huge number of people was at Looking Glass Falls, and I just had to be careful not to fly over them. Now, not getting them in the shot was another thing entirely.
The river is a great place to shoot in Savannah. Always something interesting to see. Just watch out for low flying military flights sometimes. Subscribed to your channel.
