just heard you mention speed sensor delete didnt know about this lol also cold you tell me were the wires go too at the base of the gear selector as i cant get to my harness yet properly to find out were it goes too cheers
this may seem like a daft question which is which on the engine diesel pipes is the clear going in the feed and the black pipe the return am not sure which is which on mine as going to test start it on the floor cheers
If you are starting on the floor you will need to run the fuel pump anyway , is your inline fuel filter still connected,? If so that will be the line to engine and the other will be the return. I have a first start up video think at the end you get a look at what I did (basically just dumped a pump in a tray of clean diesel) 👍

paul you got a diagram for what you did with the gear selector lights etc ive had imobaliser took off the ecu just no clue were the wires go from the gearstick surrounding and what the resistor is used for too
Hey mate, I don’t have any diagrams anymore, I used a online free manual which had every bmw wiring diagram on it think it was called tis. But they started charging subscription shortly after. Pretty sure you can still get it somewhere though. House of torque I’m pretty sure they have all the step by step wiring info on their site too. The resistors are a 120ohm CAN terminating resistor between can low and can high I’m not exactly sure which ones I connected but do remember they were the twisted yellow and maybe orange wires?? But pretty sure all this info is online now. Sorry I’m not much more help than that I did mine a long time ago now, but it’s still going strong with no issues and still my daily driver done about 50k kms in it so far. Such a good conversion. @JohnEllis-hf3ng think there’s a load of companies doing kits now mate. Can buy mounts harness even doing transmission wiring now I think. I’m so happy with mine it performs and has been so reliable. I’m still using it as a daily driver. Towing the boat is a breeze too.
@@paulbaker7015 soz i am from newcastle upon tyne i always forget to read comments been sorting wires out today pulling harness to bits to figure out what wires i need to go to gearbox as i unplugged all the stuff on the gear selector plastic and it wouldnt start without it
@@graham-martin5847 ah ye. That’s all I did was follow the dealer bmw wiring diagram and pretty much kept 90 percent of the wiring. Didn’t need half of it to be honest but I just labeled and wrapped it if I ever needed it. The harnesses you can buy these days are so much more simple pretty much plug and play. Paul, I’m checking out of desperation. As in, I desperately need lower gears in my Land Rover LR3 (USA) Disco 3 in EU. A swap from the Magna Steyr DD295 to an LT230 would shorten gears by .50. Not a world of difference but the LT230 can accommodate an underdrive. The problem is there are several sensors on the DD295 that are tied into Traction Control and Electronic Air Suspension. Do you know of anyone who may be able to help me work around the electronics?
Sounds like a project mate, but probably not impossible. Would need to find a decent local auto sparky mate to have a look through the disco3 diagrams to see exactly what it’s reading. Why were you needing lower gears? Can’t you just change diff ratios because that would be so much easier, or even try find a good engineering mob to make a different gear set for your 295.
@@paulbaker7015yes, a project it is, and thus far coming up empty handed. Why- I fit 35” tires 7 years ago and the stock 3.73 gears are absolutely neutered with the larger tires. The prevalent terrain in my part of the world is rock. Anything over knee high, especially on an incline the engine just bogs down. I have also not had the torque to turn the wheels in deep sticky mud before. Gears would be the most simple answer; however, I haven’t been able to find a gear manufacturer to show any interest - even understanding that there would be tooling costs, etc. I believe if I can get someone to agree, I can find enough people interested in social media to make it work. The search continues. Currently, I am sourcing a used diff to disassemble to get the measurements off the R&P. The hope is that there is something close enough that can be machined to fit. I do not believe the 295 internals would be able to be modded as it runs on clutches. Many have gone down this rabbit hole, only to give up. I happen to love the vehicle, and want what I want :)
Ye mate I’m in Qld Brisbane and no dramas with engineering, they signed it off no problems ( I fitted cat and egr ). Still going strong in Aussie conditions real good conversion 👍👍
Paul? And how did you launch the 6hp26 abs distributor and anti-skid steering wheel. I put myself from the bmvh5 e53 M57N it will also be on emergency mode?
Hi mate how’s you doing? I’m not sure what that is sorry. The only thing I changed from stock was the dde tune which has speed signal and ews delete. And transmission loom needed the can wires resistors

Hi mate - ye sorry for no updates I have been working away in the mines on the big diesel’s but home now and looking to do some updates soon. We want to build the channel including trips out hopefully in the defender. M57 is performing superb with no issues and heaps of power 👍👍👍
