Tilt the back valve cover up enough to get an 8mm wrench and take the the vvt solenoid loose and lift the VC off together. Came right off. I tore my hands and arms up trying to get it off. Just remember to put them back on the same way it came out.
dont ever lose that NPT drain plug, why trick flow does not use regular metric or standard thread but cant find one made perfectly anywhere. I ordered a gold plug # IP-03X, NPT 3/8-18 thread plug that should fit but it only goes in half way. Gold plug does say though that there is an # IP-03 that has no head and is just like this one so I will try that. Really wanted a normal drain bolt. I may now have to drill and tap to 3/4. Make sure pan install bolts go in all way depth, mine are 1/4 short and stripped my trans case. They should be as close to full depth to grip all threads.
@@DavidJWarEagle Alright, what I did was get a ( I dont know if exact size you have, mine is on a 03 ford f250 so sorry if confusing) 3/8-18 NPT tap and tap the drain hole a little bit at a time and got the plug farther up close to it. They say this NPT plugs dont need crush washer, o ring, or even go all the way in to fit so we will see when I refill. If I dont come back it worked perfectly.
After watching your video I ordered this opener. I have a old Sears opener with dip switches. It works great and range is clear out to my street. I am very happy. Thanks for doing the video.
You can use the fel pro gaskets for the vvt solenoid. The smaller one is correct you just have to put RTV around the gasket and then put grease or oil around the inside so it slides around the solenoid easily
It can be done without taking out the alternator or removing the bolts....I know because I just finished replacing mine. But it will take a lot of patience and time...and a little luck. The hardest part of the job is getting the connector off of the sensor because it has a clip that must be slid to the side before you can depress the tab and pull it off. I admit it took me over an hour using a small screw driver and some mirrors to undo the clip, but getting at the alternator bolts is a PITA too so I guess six of one and I choose working on getting the clip moved. Once you do that and baring you have the right size socket with the correct depth barrel, it's easy peasy after that.
How to know when to replace brake sensor. Pads and rotors have been changed. Bas light keeps coming back on and when yhat happens the rear passenger brake either is non existent or it does work.
Thank you for this video. Last weekend I did the front valve cover to change the vvt solenoid but struggled to get the power steering reservoir off so I have to go back and do the rear valve cover and now I feel like I can get it done
Good video! Just lay under my hotrod tonight with your video and did the same thing. Videos like this are a life saver as getting the parts and instruction in Ireland can be a nightmare sometimes. I made sure to remember to wear goggles and the gushing ATF. I let the housing out slowly to drip into a catch can 😂 Thanks again for the upload!
What mistake did you make with the bolts on the back valve cover gasket bc I’m about to change my valve cover gaskets and I don’t wanna make the mistake you’re saying you made.
Thanks Brother, super helpful and detailed video. 2014 Chrysler 300S... Tried dislodging the "Devil Clip" without removing the alternator, no bueno/ waste of time. Ended up loosing all three bolts from the alternator, left one of the bottom bolts still attached and just tilting the alternator gave plenty of room. The alternator bolt where David used the combo 4X4&Jack to loosen it. You can actually put your wrench on the bolt and then pull from above with plenty of room and leverage (took me awhile to figure that out).
thank you for making this video. The only thing that I would like to say is a low voltage transformer does not have a positive and negative. Look at the plug it is not polarized. Thanks
Thank you so much!!!!!... people.. do NOT fast fwd the video lol. I forgot to tighten the SINGLE 10mm bolt into the previous plastic piece... I was able to grab it from the back side but it took some work and eventually got fully tightened. This video is perfect. The only thing I can say is he is a little to careful on drilling out the old plastic pieces to separate. I did it in to seconds wtih a larger bit.. opening up that hole means nothing so just drill them right out in seconds... other than that this video is PERFECT!.... ONE last thing.. I got my two liners as a KIT... do NOT buy from dealer.. they charge almost 400$ for shipping... blew my mind! I got it all send 178$ shipped with extra screws and clips for both sides... this video is 5 years old... prices have changed!.. THank you David!!!!
How many miles on engine when you needed to replace valve cover gaskets.... Also did you happen to know about what a repair garage would charge on labor.... Great video
I have the 2013 and just replaced the wiring harness and the entire light assembly a short in the wiring and the oem bulbs are so hot they have melted the housing.
Yes, this is normal because the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system is pulling oil vapors out of the crankcase and into the intake. The inside of the intake manifold will be oily also for this reason.
@@DavidJWarEagle im getting codes for p0351 circuit and it missfires, i changed the vct the camshaft position sensors and the crank shaft sensor Is it a wiring problem? because i found one that was exposed?
Do these bulbs fit into the same socket as the factory bulbs (2357's) or does it need a different housing? Asking b/c I just watched another video before I found this one and the guy said something about a new housing?
The base of the 2357 bulb is the same as the 1157 bulb. There was an OEM LED tail lamp housing as far as I know, and that is probably what you saw in the other video. This video is a retrofit to replace the incandescent 2357 bulbs with LED 1157 bulbs and the bulb bases are the same.
@@DavidJWarEagle Life saver. My daughter's Sonata bulbs keep going out and this is even after we got the whole back light panel replaced (mechanic thought that was the issue). She has 3 bulbs out now...they go out at once it seems....do all the lights in the back take the same size bulb do you know?
@JSKZG I’m not sure on that but you can probably do an internet search by year/make/model to find out what the other bulb types are. I think the other bulbs are different but I don’t know for sure.
This carousel looks nice, but it looks like the animals don't move up and down 😞 The up and down motion of the animals is my favorite part of riding carousels, but without it, the ride doesn't feel as fun 😢
28:55 Removing the back valve cover what a 100% pain, until it wasn't. The cheat code.....evacuate the coolant lines and disconnect them. You valve covers will slide on and off as easy as the fronts do.
