If it's your first open mike and your feeling pretty nervous about the whole thing don't talk just play your songs do your best and try to enjoy the night as well.
I'm so critical of everyone all the time and I rarely leave positive reviews. But I came across your channel and it blew my mind. It's really sad that you had to let go of your dream, because you have such a beautiful voice and you're clearly very smart, maybe too smart ! In my view, you're clearly not happy with your decision and you're going to regret it for the rest of your life ! I listened to your Birthday song and just listening to it, shows me how much the Australian FOMO has gotten into you. Buying a house and finding a love, such a cliche! You basically sold your dream to bankers ! I'm sorry, my comment was supposed to be positive, but I can't help it. It's sad to see a talent shy away and kill their actual dreams, because of what other mediocre people think of life , e.g , buying a house in Australia and paying 30 years of mortgage, and then ... To me, you only lack persistence, and having a channel with 3000 subscribers and just leaving it behind, is the proof of it. Hopefully you can get better at it and come back with more insights and achieve your dreams.
I went through the entire Studio website , all these professional musicians and all, but none of them managed to explain this concept so beautifully and simply. Thank you, a world of thank you to you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Helpful little video. Your suggestions seem like common sense, and yet I had not been practicing them, nor had I put my finger on the reason I was getting so little accomplished. I've just made myself a chart like you suggested, next made a lengthy list of topics to choose from for daily exercises. The topics are all "bite size" and enticing - things I'm eager to jump into. Now feeling inspired. Thank you!!
You gotta be VERY intelligent person to be able to extract 'all the really useful' part from music theory and put it down in such a short, yet informative manner 👏 impressed! 99.99% of the world can't convey knowledge in such a laconic+smart manner. Bravo!
This is fantastic! Very simple and easy to apply. However that’s great for the first line but that melody won’t apply to the rest of the lyrics. I am new to this though so I should probably just get started and the rest will hopefully follow
You left out progressive rock. The Intro, verses break (usually an long instrumental), and bridge and are the most important part of Progressive songwriting. Choruses are used in some, but unexpectedly. Next time you should include some examples of different types of rock genres, not just pop. But this is great. Loved watching.
@DAWter When you say "groupd are good cause you can FX every tack at once" you mean the separate output of all tracks from that group are going through that FX layer in the group or you mean that all the tracks combine and that output is then going to the FX layers? because it is different to have an effect for each track that it is to have one effect for the combined output of multiple track. So, to sum up, does it work like a return track?
Wow! Thank you Elise, I have been writing songs since I can remember coming into the world and I want to start putting music to them and I found you channel. You are the best!
Thanks, I am good with writing the songs in and of themselves, but I have trouble deciding whether to use dynamics since I did not understand how exactly to use them but this has helped a lot. Thank you!
