Don't remember this but been watching later ones when his wife was different person & no canned laughter etc 😊 & This doesn't make sense she didn't know who he was untill into series two or them both knowing about affair etc etc

Lesley Manville really was crap in this, she had not progressed far from her short stint in Coronation street, where she played Gail Tilsley child minder.
This actress played a cold, snobbish and totally unlikable character in A bit of a do, and here again she is out-bitching Joan Collins. Why is this guy's character written as so weak? First she hits him with the car, then she attacks him with his own briefcase, that's assault. And he does nothing! And he seems to have mommy issues on top of it. British humor is obviously different.

Not sure how I feel about this show; I like the two lead characters, especially Sonia, but the two cheating spouses - meh. Mrs. Wales, the assistant, is more problematic; the actress does a very good job of creating an interesting character, it's just that the character feels extraneous, like it detracts, rather than adds to the plot. More of a waste of the actress' talents.And the mother who is perpetually at death's door is a bit much, as well. But don't go by me , these days, I do not know what I like anymore.
It seems that the original master was destroyed in a fire several years ago. It was a huge blaze which destroyed thousands of original master recordings. Though I would assume that it could be cleaned up a bit and stuck on streaming. Slightly poor is better than nothing at all.
@@davidC1984 It got caught in the Universal fire? It is odd because I have a lot of music from the 80's that were remastered in the 2000's but the original masters were in the Universal fire. I am surprised there wasn't a backup somewhere. Before the internet it was fun to roll the record stores to find rare, B sides, etc..... Looks like this has entered that realm.
I can't tell you how many girls ive shocked and won over by telling them i loved Mannequin, especially seeing it growing up, as a boy lol. i guess they figure a guy wouldn't like a Comedy-Romance, but i did... i DO. lol... shit, i named my Cat of 18 years "Rambo" Because of that movie. well, also due to Rambo himself, but more as a Mannequin Joke. and he lived a HELL of a long life for a cat... i still miss that Cat every single day. i had him from like, 17 till 35 or around there of...
