The plants are beautiful. I really don't have a green thumb. as a matter of fact, everyone says. don't let her touch the plant. girl they just die I don't understand it. but I love Ivys. Maybe this will change one day.
Oh yeah. my crown looks somewhat like what you are dealing with. So, I'm just going to roll with you and see if I can do something to help myself. Thanks for the ideas that you do give.

Wow this is such a great video, I missed the live again, I think it is because I didn't click the notification bell. You touched on banding, I thought that was good, because I'm a few months over a year of starting the locks. I wondered across the board how long should you band. Come back and let us know how you are doing with the Coffee, egg and onion juice. Last thing, is the idea to all of this is to use something that will stimulate the scalp? what are your thoughts. @kathyscott4605 I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I try to educate as much as I can and give advice as I experience this journey as well. I'm planning to do another live this week, maybe on Friday at 6pm. I'll discuss some topics and include some things you can use to stimulate your scalp. I'm always asking my lockstars for any questions they may have, so keep them coming. If I don't have the answers, I'll look for them. =) Also, I'll keep you guys updated on my scalp treatment as well.

@fayeslocdlife5071 yes I will. I have fine hair and I always washed my hair in sections when it was loose. Braiding and banding seem to be the same as braiding and banding.
praise God you got through that storm. You made your guardian angel work overtime that day. I’ve been in a tornado rain band once so I know how scary it was for you. Also sending up prayers for your brother and your family.
I hate I missed the live, but I was on a plane to Utah at the time so I’m looking at the replay. (Coming home to hang out a few days) So I banded for the first year and then my loctition told me I could stop which I did. I’m now over 5 years locked and while I don’t band before I wash anymore, I do band immediately after. I may try going back to banding before washing though. Taking my hair down from the banding is when I take the time to separate my locks at the scalp. Sometimes I count them. lol. I’m experiencing thinning in the crown as well and doing all I can to help reverse it. I have so many oils that I have purchased that I’m not spending anymore on growth oils, I have too many. I’m going to the sprays more so to stimulate my scalp and will mix in a bit of the oils one at a time to use up what I’ve purchased. The dermatologist has me using men’s Rogaine 5%, but it dries my hair a bit that I started adding oils afterwards to keep the dryness at bay. Looking forward to your next live and hopefully I’m not on a plane. lol. Oh and Happy Birthday to Tina!
I have washed my hair loose a few times but banding works best. Since I have reattached locs, I've realised that when I band they dont tend to break off again as opposed to when I washed it loose. Also, when banding the hair feels less heavy when wet so I will continue to band. I'm close to 4 years in.
Like to share a product that I found on Amazon that really works for thinning areas called CB Smooth wild JBCO. In case I didn’t mention I have sisterloc also salt&pepper seven years in. I am very dedicated to the maintenance and journey never missed a retie make my own oils but this one I really like the mixture and it works. I use the one in the pretty purple bottle with the nozzle and it not expensive. Will definitely pray for your brother.

You mention that Melissa should have trademarked her system - look into the old sisterlocks lawsuit where Dr C sued the creator of nappylocks. You cannot patent the knotting systems - just the tool and the name. That’s why sisterlocks consultants have to now sign documents that are binding when they take any SL classes.

This is exactly what I'm having to do because of all the things I had done to my hair, and plus I'm up in age. At the end of the day though. I have no regrets for choosing to go lock. ❤

I hate I missed your live, ugh. Will try to catch the next one. I have a 3 headed dragon myself and I have lots of tiny ones in my crown. I’m nervous that the tiny ones don’t have enough base to take the next retie without breaking off. My last retie I lost a lock in the retie chair. When I got home two more broke off. I’ve never done my own hair until now. I retied a few hanging on by a thread, and now thinking about combining my tiny locks. My texture is 4a or 3c. my next appointment is coming up and I’m really nervous that I might lose more. My loctition does not reattach locks so I’m just holding on to my pieces that broke off in hopes of reattaching myself when I have enough new growth. Even with all of this, I do not want to take them out. Have you ever thought about steaming your sisterlocks? There is a retired loctition here on RU-vid called “Beautiful Locks” I think her first name is Renee. She steams her sisterlocks and has low density hair. And then there is the knotted locks.
@plumercrs1386 I missed you! I just knew you were going to be there. It's ok. There will be more to come. I'm sorry to hear about you losing your locks. You have to be careful because of the fine texture of your hair. It would definitely be good if you could learn how to do your own hair. You could take the retightening class only. You don't need the entire sisterlocks class. Or just watch channels online that will show you how to do it. Then no, I haven't steamed my locs as of yet, so I can speak on the results of that. Maybe I may do a live on Sunday evening about that. It depends because I do have a client that day, but if I do, I'll post a notification. So look out for that. And no, I'm not familiar with the RU-vid er you are talking about.
Cosmetologist here👋🏾 Glycerin is also great for hair because it pulls moisture from the air onto whatever (glycerin) is sitting on. Also, I’m curious to know how often you retie? You may have mentioned it and I just didn’t catch it. Thanks for the great video. 💕

Just a thought. Do you think touching it so much may also stress it out at the root. I notice people who have these locs love touching their hair. I had a fake dread wig and was doing the same thing...
I waited too late. With my last retie (2weeks ago), I’ve lost two locks from scalp. One in the chair and one when I got home. My hair in the crown is now sooooo thin that it won’t be able to be retied again with that Sisterlock tool. I don’t know what to do. I’m so sick.
@plumercrs1386 Sorry to hear that. 😞 The 1st thing is STOP ✋️ using the sisterlocks tools! You can find better lock tools on Amozon. Try the one that I showed you guys in my live last night. The one in the black little bag. I'll also try again to locate the place that I got my favorite tools from. I hope this helps!
@Sista990 Thank you, and I believe it's called the o locker tool? I purchased them years ago. And I think the company closed. Because I tried to buy them again and never received the tools. It was a black owned company out of NYC.
ANSWERS to why locks are falling out, or hair at the scalp is thinning, or spaces are getting wider: Very simple 1) TWISTING: The twisting or retighten of the hair at the scalp. I haven’t seen many people with locks ( of any kind of locks) who don’t have thinning. 2) FREQUENCY: the frequency of twisting and re-tying the hair, 3) FRICTION: the friction of the tool pushing through and then pulling back through the hair POPS the hair WITHIN each lock not just around each lock. If it was AROUND each lock, then the lock wouldn’t fall out, 4) DRYNESS: To my knowledge sister locks can not have much product so therefore the hair is dry which is a big No No when adding friction like pushing and pulling that tool through at the root every 6-8 weeks. 5) DIET: Poor diet such as Sugar and excessive fatty food causes inflammation in The body which can cause lack of blood circulating to the scalp and balding/hair falling out. 6) HEAVINESS/LENGTH: As the hair grows the weight of the hair on each already THINED lock strand is excessive. It’s not the same as having loose long hair. We want long hair but if your hair is fine and low density then you SHOULD keep your locks shorter to prevent excessive weight on each square grid. Keep them cut to just past shoulder length to decrease weight and heaviness pulling on the scalp. The LONGER the lock, the heavier it is. 7) REATTACHING: I don’t recommend Reattaching fallen locks to broken strands as it is only adding more weight and tension on the scalp. I work in healthcare with people who have a had strokes. When that arm is weak or paralyzed it ultimately becomes a heavy like a weight to the shoulder and pulls on muscles/tendons/ligaments resulting in a space called subluxation. This is what happens to each lock as it grows and pulls. 8) LENGTH: once again the longer the hair being pulled through at the retighten appointment the more friction on the scalp hair. For instance, if you are pulling 6 inches of hair through there is less friction than pulling 20 or 30 inches of hair through that tiny space and the more chance of hairs popping at the root. So keep your hair cut to just below shoulder length. Try these suggestions and I pray that you all have healing and new growth.

Hi Faye! I didn’t catch you live. Bummer. I will try to catch you on your next live, especially if you trim your hair on it. I was using the men’s Rogaine which was suggested by a dermatologist, but I stopped using it and noticed more thinning so I just went back to it just last week. I’ll be making another trip to a dermatologist to see if there is anything else I can do. Glad you found a regiment that seems to be working for you. Can’t wait to see more of your results and see the other hair growth thing you are working on. So hope that too will be on live. Either way, I’m loving your channel and personality. You are refreshing.
