knotted locks is a kick off of sister locks because she's still interlocking some and then knotting.

You are RIGHT! I received an "energy" about Knotted Locs as well. It appears there is a toxic following too. I received some comments on my page from her followers. I was going to do them, but.... All I can say is DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! I did a video on this as well. ❤ You are speaking of Tunisia Ali and @itssonya on here. 🙌🏾

Right ✅️ when it comes to certain things, I always follow my gut instincts! And if it doesn't feel right to me. I stay far away from it. That's too bad, though, because it didn't have to turn out like that. Smh, I don't know why we can't all get along 😒

Same here! Seems like a combative spirit behind it. Nothing wrong with new approaches but this just does not seem right. Melissa's hair does not look healthy to me. Dr. Cornwell has had her locks forever and they look healthy 🤷🏽‍♀️! Thats proof for me...

@cassmoon2589 Yes, I agree with it seeming combative. It's too bad because it didn't have to go like that.

It's time to remove the Locs. Having Locs too long can cause hair thinning on the scalp.

Thank you for sharing this very informative video. I am a #newsubscriber who is also documenting my journey on RU-vid. I also acknowledge that as a result of viewing a video about the alternative loc maintenance, I felt a negative vibe. Thank you again, ❤

When my sislocs were installed many years ago rosemary tea was the only thing I used on my hair. Kept it fresh scalp itch free and it’s also really good for hair growth. I still use it now from time to time although for the most part my spritz is just distilled water and aloe Vera juice. Keeps my hair well moisturized

It doesn't bother me what someone chooses for themselves. However, I think it's unfortunate that they are pitting Sisterlocks against Knotted locks. Two things can exist at the same time. Thanks for your comment 👍

@@fayeslocdlife5071 Oh i just saw your entire video and i WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with you. Every loc style has their cons and their issues. I don’t think Sisterlocks ™️ is no different (meaning it doesn’t have its cons) but I am exhausted of everyone feeling the need to come at Sisterlocks ™️ as opposed to other microlocks styles. i absolutely LOVE my Brotherlocks ™️ and have no intention of doing any other lock style with my hair.

@@camara1194 I definately can understand where you are coming from. But remember my brother that we can't control what other people do or say. We can only control how we respond to it! I've learned not to allow any of it to take up space in my brain. I'm uploading another video now.

Great content! What are your thoughts about extending time periods between reties to avoid the stress on scalp?
@fayeslocdlife5071
@fayeslocdlife5071 4 месяца назад
Thank you! 😊 When it comes to retightenings and extending time between them, I like 6-7 wk retightenings the best. However, if need be, 8 is ok. I've found that when clients go past the 8 weeks, it starts to mess with the integrity of the lock. Where it can start to have weak points. I may do a detailed video on this topic.
@fayeslocdlife5071
@fayeslocdlife5071 4 месяца назад
Also, it's not just about the time periods. It's about evaluating the condition of the clients' locks, deciding the speed you should use, not retightening too tightly, and being gentle with the locks. Unfortunately their are clients who are dealing with some loctician's who aren't being ethical with their practices.
@debh.6608
@debh.6608 4 месяца назад
@fayeslocdlife5071 I am 4 years in with Sisterlocks. Because of some issues I've had with my loctitian, I began to self maintain last year. The first thing was I wasn't sure if my loctation was actually certified because I didn't get the starter kit. But I was okay with that. However, I was installed in January of 2020, and then the pandemic hit. I was panic-stricken because I didn't know how to retighten until things opened back up. I might have damaged the integrity of the grid, but that's not my main focus. After the restrictions were lifted, I went back for my retightenings. Later on, I just had issues with scheduling. She would change appointments at the very last minute, and it just wasn't working for me because I have a full-time job and scheduled time off for my retightenings to avoid being in there all day on Saturdays (or waiting an extremely long time before Saturday appointment was available). So I decided to just take the maintenance into my own hands. I pretty much knew what to do since I had to maintain during the pandemic. I don't have to retighten to the point where my scalp is hurting, and I can take my time.

oh wow. I’m just getting notification of this video and it came out a month ago. I’m subscribed and have the bell checked for notifying on all of your videos. So not sure why I’m just getting it. Anyway, I am very interested in getting you to make the spritz for me. I’ve been using oils to help with my thinning, but what you are saying makes sense too. I began the oils because my dermatologist told me to use men’s Rogaine which was drying out my locks at the scalp. I stopped using it, but planning on going back to dermatologist to see if there is something else I can do. Appreciate this video. I too looked at the knotted lock method, but I’m scared to go that route for many reasons, plus I love my sisterlocks and need to find something that will work on my androgenic alopecia. Looking forward to your more recent video, so I’ll search since RU-vid isn’t notifying me.
