I wonder how many pink corvettes Angelyne has had since the very first one? I moved to Los Angeles in 1984 and stayed for 30 years, and loved my life there. Angelyne was already famous and had billboards all over Hollywood, making her the Billboard Queen of Hollywood. I met her a couple of times, one was at a drugstore and my friend and I acted like HUGE fans and showered her with adoration and she asked us to walk her to her car, which we did. The second time was at a club and she had been named the Queen of Valentine's Day or something, and she performed a couple of her songs. She wrote on a piece of paper for me, "Matt, I am your sex Goddess!" and she kissed the paper leaving a lipstick mark. The "Mother of Punk" or "Queen of Punk/Funk", the incredible Nina Hagen, sings in a song, "I have a girlfriend from Hollywood. Her name is Angelyne, and she's a billboard queen"... "Could you back up? I need to get some unleaded".... from Earth Girl's Are Easy. lol. I love Angelyne. Some paparazzi was filming her getting out of her car to go into a store, and she didn't feel like being filmed that day - maybe she didn't feel well or something, but she fell on the curb and no one rushed to help her... and they should have.
Met her once and bought a t-shirt. She only seemed concerned with selling stuff from her trunk but did say that for something like $7,000 I could take her photo with her face uncovered. When l laughed her friend seemed upset. It became too weird, so I took my shirt and walked away. Never meet your idols...
We ran into her in Culver City on our way to six flags magic mountain 7 years ago and she was so nice and even complimented my ripped jeans calling them “grunge galore”
