My wheelstand has more than 1 DOF. Not intentionally. It just wobbles in every direction.

Sometimes I hate watching your videos cause they can make me want to spend a ton of money 😄 I really wish I could try a 4 or 5 DoF motion rig before buying- If it's as awesome/ immersive as it is in my head, I would DEFINITELY clear out a space in the basement for a permanent set up, real fast. I just can't bring myself to spend real car or motorcycle money on something I'm so unsure about, and I can't resell to break even (or potentially profit with something like a bike). It's one of those all or nothing type of things in my mind, at least until I experience it.

Doing a home grown single rumble motor for $250Aud scratched most of my haptic feedback itches amzingly - So many folks say if there's one add on to do, then it's this. I'd agree.

@@KarlGosling Sim-racing in itself is not cheap and motion is on the high end of that. Oh btw I just bought a GT Omega triple screen stand based on your review. If it's good enough for you it's good enough for me!

i few year ago i would say this is crazy. now i have a gt prime triple montior stand on it with its own pc and the only thing i want now is motion lol. this is really cool i may have to look into it more

I've been looking forward to add one of these. I still do not have any motion system, just tactile and belt tensioner. I was wondering if start with motion with the eracing labs RS MEGA+ first and then later add the LowSlider. But could also be a good idea to start with the LowSlider. What attract me the most is the yaw at the front and rear. Is there a possibility to add a LowSlider with 2 DOF for the yaw without the surge?.

Do you happen to know whether or not they offer an option to have their motion rigs(such as the 6DOF LowSlider) shipped to you *fully assembled*? Perhaps someone at race@home can chime in if they read this?

We ship them in 3 big pieces. Assembly takes about 90 minutes

Hey Karl, how would this system in 6 dof form compare to DOF Reality? Not in terms of build quality per se, but in how well each convey the simulated g forces. I know you are familiar with the DOF reality 2 dof, but wasn't sure if you had any experience with their 6 dof version.

Build quality and performance is what translates to the end user experience, DOFR is fine for entry level pricing but doesn't compare to the higher end in my opinion.

Got motion a couple of months ago 4 actuators set up (rs mega +). lots of time setting-up up but it great and i will want add more in time , But £4500 to add surge, if i up grade though rs mega and add the cost of parts to add this to my rig it works out about £1200 thats a mad different in price ? Low profile concept is great but at a massive cost ?

The cost quoted includes VAT @ 20% and buys the platform and surge. After that, incremental costs are much lower. A low spec (50mm surge) 2DoF Qubic setup will cost £9,700 shipped to the UK - about twice the price. RS Mega need to sell 1,000's of units to maintain low prices and they do, but their cost base is low. The component cost of a LowSlider is very close to the sale price.

I guess if you look at the spec you could at least see the maximum wattage each actuator can pull, obviously they do not run flat out all the time though!

I have a motion racing simulator and although it has a high "cool factor" my flight simulator is static and just has transducers and I find I really don't miss having motion much if at all. The transducers hve to be turned on in both or they are missed quite a but but the motion is a much more expensive system for what ends up being less important in the end just one mans opinion!

I think a lot of it will depend on use case, Rally for example absolutely shines with both transducers and motion, specifically vertical motion and traction loss... jumps and drifts.

All these motion rigs need access to some telemetry data froM the game. Knowing nintendo they would ban such thing immediately, file a lawsuit and never talk about it again 😂
