I help people create edible and beautiful landscapes that are #WayBetter than Organic.
My dream is to make good food accessible to everyone, and in my opinion, the best food is delicious, nutritious, and safe. It doesn't get any better than picking fresh fruits, herbs, veggies straight off the plant where you know what went into it from start to finish.
You won't find any tomato cages here, as a matter of fact, there's a lot you won't find here... including pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or any of the other "cides". What you will find here are edible landscapes that are designed for beauty, fun, reflection and the list goes on to whatever YOU want, after all, it's your yard, your home, your taste and beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.
Ok... you know that garden you've been thinking about? I know you're ready. I know I'm ready. So Let's dig in!
I was taught by my mother-in-law how to make tortillas and many other Mexican dishes, since I grew up mostly in Europe, my daddy was in the army. There is nothing like having the first one with butter on it. Pure heaven. I have been making tortillas for 62 years and I have never been able to make them round. I mean I get pretty close, but honestly, I have no idea why I can't make round tortillas. My wonderful father-in-law, used to hold them up and say things like, oh this looks like New York, or this looks like Kansas, etc. I think I hit every state! When my grandsons (they are 36 now) show up unexpectedly, I make them up a batch each to take home along with the salsa I make especially for them. Such a warm feeling knowing you are making someone happy, that is what I feel every time I make them. ❤❤
Thank you! I have 75 stalks of corn growing and was wondering how to dry them for fall decor! Do you cut them at the base or pull them out with roots intact? Also do you remove them from your garden while they’re still green?
Back in the 80s my parents moved to Missouri and somewhere they found a nutsheller that was powered by a rubber band. It shattered the shell and the meat came out whole without being broken. It worked on lots of different types of nuts. They no longer have it, I don't know why, but I've been looking for one like that for the last 30 years. You could shell nuts in about 10 seconds. You would putt a nut in the chamber and close the cover, then pull the hammer back and let it fly. And then open the cover, take out the meat, and the shell fragments would fall into the bottom chamber. The cover was like a piece of pipe that slid back and forth on a track. The rubber band powered Hammer was a piece of wood on the track. The hammer would fly forward and hit a metal anvil or spacer with a cone shape hitting the nut and shattering it.
I’m so sorry. I don’t have any “opt in” apps right now. Let me see what I can do for you. But if you go there Canva ( it’s free) you can probably create one for yourself. Congrats! Fellow PDC!
@@NannetteBlair Thank you!!! Any template help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I am really, really bad at this sort of stuff. I need all the help I can get.
So yummy, thanks for sharing, fellow Texan!! Hola from Dallas. I love to make Queso Fresco but do you have any cheese recipes such as QF, Mozzarella and Feta? My the faves. 😃. Thank you for such wonderful videos, I’ve been binge watching. 🫶🏼
Thank you. I collected lots of p'cons from a native pecan tree just growing alone on a local street. They are a goodly size, about first digit of adult make thumb size. Letting them air dry for about a week allows the kernel to shrink enough to be loose. They are tasty too. The shells are easy to crack with minimal damage to the kernel. I use a 10 in groove joint tool. It allows for good control and the long handles provide good leverage. I will attemp to germinate about 25 or more of them. But my research about the process is just beginning. 😊
Awesome! I learn everything through trial and error but I have many, many, many volunteer pecan trees growing up and around my existing pecan trees. It’s almost a weed here. Lol.
I made 50 tortillas the other day and I got one small taco, went back to the kitchen to have another and my kids had eaten all of sad tortillas. I wasn’t as happy as they were with the tortillas but your video is kinda letting me know what I did wrong thank you.
Lol. Sorry but it does take a little practice. I say lol because I remember making them with my grandma with a roller my grandpa made out of a broom handle. He would say in Spanish, these are shape of Texas but he would eat them and make yummy noises. I’m sure yours turned out better than mine were when I first made them. Haha!
Oh please. Get it right. Toxins are poisons produced by plants and animals. You’re talking about toxicants, which includes manmade poisons. Left at 0:29.
Crisco is now known to be poisonous and dangerous to consume for humans. I like the idea of the coconut oil. I made some similar and I used avocado oil. I think I will try the coconut oil. Thank you.
