Actually you don't need tamarind. You can very well replace it by good quality Garcinia. Of course you would need a little more quantity, but the flavor will be outstanding.

Bedgi Chili’s are abundantly available in Goa. Also this recipe is a Goan garam masala, you could use whatever dry Chili’s are available close to this. I am based in US and I try make dishes with whatever ingredients are best available here. Thank you!
