Love the content! I just pre-ordered this paddle using your code, and I just had a few questions about the paddle itself. I was wondering if you have tested the J2Ti with any lead tape and how it feels? I also wanna know how to clean this paddle after every use since I've never bought a paddle with this material (I'm used to using an eraser for my carbon fiber paddles).
I got this paddle and it works great for me. The only thing is that it is so easy to swing and I tend to use my wrist more and more for quick response. Now my wrist starts hurting. If anyone has a good fix for that, please reply.
Have you noticed or heard of the Ronbus R1 Ripple increasing in power over time? Would be a turn off for me if it gets any hotter than what people are saying it is
I wish reviewers would just put the paddle stats in a matrix so you can pause and visually compare rather than rattling off numbers that disappear off the screen.
Bro, im a newbie but i learned basic tennis before. Im now using 6.0 Ruby 14mm but feel like its hard to control the ball, can u recommend me j2k or Foizar is better for me? Tks
In the paddle comparisons, you said the neon flare was 9 for power, but your graphic shows 8? Can you please clarify? Great review, as always Stephen! BTW, I’ve been playing with the Shogun for a few months and really like it, but ordered the J2Ti. Sounds like a similar feel, but you think it will be a big upgrade? Thank you! 👊
I love my J2K it’s got that pop and spin even after 5 months of heavy use. Way more than my Ben Johns Hyperion which is now a back up/ loaner paddle. The 2nd gen Hyperion started losing its spin and control after about 3 months
Great review as always. Like others, would like to hear your comparison to the 14mm Olympus. Maybe a 14mm J2K/J2K Pro Ti would be the Holy Grail (great name for a paddle?) if it maintain top-tier control?
Thanks for the compliment! The Olympus didn’t wow me personally. I think it’s a good paddle.. still analyzing it. If I had a tournament tomorrow I’d take the J2K or the J2Ti over the Olympus no question.
Love the vids! I’m very curious about this but just upgraded from the Vatic Prism Flash to the Neonic Flow. I really want plush but want to slowly upgrade power. I’ve heard the J2TI has a “plusher” feel but how plush does it feel compared to my other two?
If you had to choose between the M2F 16mm or the CRBN 3X 14mm what would you pick? I know they’re a bit different playing styles but I’m curious on your input! I have both being shipped in! Thank you for the discount.
@@stspickleball I have both now and am waiting for this weeks game! I usually play once a week with my brother and company.. I WILL get back to you I promise. But I think I’m going to like the CRBN better.. I’m a skinny guy who loves up temp game.. if I can get myself to calibrate drops and dinks with the 14mm I think I’m gonna love the power the CRBN gives me
Im in a bit of a pickle already. I purchased a j2k a few months ago but wasnt crazy about the paddle as i felt i needed more pop. My paddle before was elongated and im a singles player so i went ahead and ordered the J7k Pro. Played really well with j7k pro. As time went on i purchased some tungsten tape and put a strip covering the complete top of my j2k. now im blowing people away with the j2k, however before a game i have a really tough time choosing which fricken paddle to use now.
Dang, was deciding between the Flare, or the J2TI. It seems like this has the Flare beat in every way huh? Was able to get a flare from a friend for $120.. Is the price diff worth it?
I’m a 4.0 player. I have tried Joola Perseus gen2 and 3 along with the Anna Bright Scorpius, Selkirk Luxx, Engage 6.0 Pro Irvine, Mach 2 Forza. None are perfect for me. I like the control of Mach 2, and the dynamic feel of the Perseus gen 2. I do like control and spin of Mach 2, but want more power. What is your suggestion
I enjoy the Ti more than the J3K pro :) It's a phenomenal paddle and I wouldn't give something a glowing review if I didn't truly believe it. Titan drills and QR codes will be coming soon! Sorry for the delay, life has been a little crazy lately.
@@stspickleball Awesome! Thanks for the reply! Excited to try both in the near future! (already have J3K pro on order). Yeah, life is wild man, so I completely understand! Thanks again!
Question. Is the J2K really thermoformed? I removed the grip, and the handle was made of two peaces of normal cheap plastic, and two peaces of some soft material. Definitely not thermoformed. Did you check this?
Is the handle and face connected as one piece though? The separate pieces you mentioned may be to allow the handle to be the standard octagonal shape. Thermoforming without the separate handle pieces would make the handle just a rectangle. Not sure if I explained that well.
Yes it is a thermoformed paddle. That is the construction of many thermoformed paddles grips. The will often do this to save a touch on cost without having exposed polymer on the sides of the handle, but overall I do really love the firm solid handle style of the Honolulu paddles. It is thermoformed 100%
This might be my next paddle... I was very close to pulling the trigger on the Mod TA-15... You do not currently have either paddle in your notion database... how do you think they compare?
I will be updating the database very soon! I do have a review on the Mod TA-15. The Mod is definitely much hotter off the face as it's gen 3. Much harder to control. If I was going to a tournament tomorrow I would take the Ti over the mod no question.
currently rocking Neonic flow using your code! Debating between the Ripple R2 and this padddle! Seems like this paddle would be similar to the flow. And the R2 would be giving me something new to play with. Thoughts?
This paddle would be the flow with better spin and stability (twist weight and sweet spot) and a bit more power. The Ripple R2 has much more power and pop than both of these paddles. So if you are looking for a very power oriented paddle then wait for the ripple but if you want the best of all worlds the Ti is your answer :)
I have a couple of questions. 1. How well does the “titanium” keep its spin compared to RCF and Kevlar? And 2. Can the “John 3:16” on the face be removed without damaging the surface?
You could easily just sharpie over the text on the top. I judge paddles on performance and not their beliefs but I understand why this could be annoying for some people. The durability of mine seems VERY good. Better than kevlar and on par with RCF thus far. I will keep analyzing over time.
Thanks Matthew! Love your vids. Yeah Honolulu did it again. Been talking with the owner a bunch recently and he has been putting in some major hours in R&D and it really shows in the resulting paddles.
@stspickleball It’s funny to see paddle face weaves beginning to mirror tennis string technology. Most recreational & pro tennis players play with poly (polyester) strings as it offers the most control and power. Curious to see if carbon faces will start to fade away and titanium(polyester) will take over?!
Those are two very different paddles. If you want great control good resets take mf2, but if you want to more aggressive get the j2kti. Both of them have great spin.
I have the Mach 2 Forza 16 mm and switch to the 14 mm to get more pop but I sacrificed power from the baseline. I’m going to be ordering this panel to get power from the baseline and more pop at the same time as well as top-tier spin.
I am really loving the Ti! I think the Versix Vector is a better version of the DBD elongated so I will be skipping the elongated review and will be reviewing the Vector instead :)
Thanks for the review! Your reviews are always money! I'm debating between this one and the Pickln Alteco3. I've heard good things about that one too. Have you had any experience with it?
You're very welcome. Thanks for the good vibes! I'll have to look into that paddle. There's a ton of paddles releasing in the pipeline right now so it's a bit hard to keep up. Thanks for putting it on my radar!
More power, spin, pop, than all three of those. Relative control to the DBD but less control than the Prism Flash. I would take the Ti over any of those any day of the week.
Make sure to use code STS10 for the titanium paddles specifically on the Honolulu Pickleball website. It’s my code specifically for their titanium lineup. You can use code STSPICKLEBALL for any other paddles in the space 😊 just wanted to share this so there is no confusion!
The problem I have with Titanium is the price. Seems like they should cost somewhere between carbon fiber and Kevlar. I think the Titanium name allows for a higher asking price.
It's not about cost of materials but what the market determines what the price should be. Which will be based more on the performance of the paddle, and the brand recognition, warranties and such.
