its honestly a joke now but alas its been dead for years and had pockets of resurgence but nothing beats the nostalgia of old. Despite pre big bang flaws
Who did you come across this information? I would love to read and learn more about it. Was it a news article or a forum post? Would love to know so i can invastigate a bit more for myself
i like to play this game a lot, but now i cant in my 5400RPM HDD because Maple (Steam) always scan all the archives after you try log in, that cause a freeze and then a crash of the game, imposible for me.
Bruh I will CRY, MY EYES OUT IF THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENS. ;-; PLEASE IF A GOD IS LISTENING I AM B E G G I N G YOU TO MAKE THIS REAL.🥺🙏🙏But I would really want them to keep the familiar system, I don't know exactly how it works cause I haven't played in AGES so if it needs tweaking to work in Classic that's fine, but the fact that you can have almost ANY mob in the game including giant bosses as a follower/companion is SO peak, literally no other MMO does this it's such a unique and awesome thing and probably my favorite thing about Maple including all the stuff from old Maple. And probably my favorite thing about ANY MMO in general, because I loveeee followers/companions and no other MMO has that many, please please keep that and this will be probably the best MMO ever. 🥹
I personally think maple reboot is in the best state it has ever been in. The addition of fragments has made progression tied to how much time you put in. The game has annoying rng mechanics but as long as u grind, u have guaranteed gains.
Hey I'm curious, and a bit of a masochist. I want the experience I had growing up, starting in Windia with nothing, party questing, everyone starting from scratch. Do they have a retro version before stuff got crazy complicated, (for me it was when tcg items started showing up) like the original version with fresh servers? To be honest I never even got to a super high level, I just loved hanging out in the FM and running a shop/merching, but even then still want to be back to the glory days of buying as many atk dmg for gloves scrolls and steelys/llbis as I can
Great piece of content, thinking about downloading as a returning player (played back in 2010) where should i start in terms of acquiring knowledge ? website/community wise what the place to go to (EU)
Maplestory has done what the girl wanted Elon Musk to do, giving everyone a million dollars to make everyone rich, and it just kills the game because there is no point in playing when everyone is simply doing six lines of 98736451789 damage without even trying.
Question for Coppersan or anyone for that matter: I wonder why after all of these years you still enjoy playing the game? What is it about the game that makes it worthwhile to play? I feel a lot of nostalgia towards this game, but honestly I couldn't really imagine playing it again. Maybe it's because I never was into the long grinding that it took to level up, especially in the old game.
A big pain for me was needing to go to the whale guy for a green chair that heals you 50 hp per a few sec , while later on every one got it from first or second in game quest.
maplestory aint been the same since cody left henesys, i really want them to bring back fun PQs that REQUIRE a full party, scale players to the boss so teamwork is actually needed, im honestly tired of this game being only about numbers, sure being strong is nice but i miss communicating with players and doing fun PQs, im a 233 demon avenger/260 demon slayer and doing the old PQs is nice except i just absolutely mow through the enemies, bossing is fun but yet again fun PQs and more socializing would be nice. ALSO BRINGING BACK REAL SEASONAL EVENTS WOULD BE NICE such as, Maplemas, the haunted mansion/witch, cake vs pie, etc. If they aren't going to bring them back in their original state change it up a bit. They need to bring back to long boat rides with balrogs or any strong mob attacking the ship shows up or something, it'd be nice, another nostalgic event to visit old maps would also be amazing. I really just care more about the fun and socializing than the whole 9-5 thing that maplestory has become. Niru's explanation was also 100% right as well.
a lot of people will say "you dont actually want classic maplestory, you dont remember how long it took to level". im here to say i very much remember and want classic maplestory. im open to small tweaks to it also, just nothing huge.
I think it’s cool idea but it’s will be unfair if the marketplace won’t be same as black desert because people will try to sell there shit for crazy over priced or undervalued prices that why the market place must be like in black desert to balance everything
Omg, I would so play an old school MapleStory again! OSRS (Old School RuneScape) is the only version of RS I'd ever play again, and have played it on and off for years since 2013 when it came out. I miss going onto MS and hanging out with people, friends, strangers, training, just being a kid again. Life doesn't need to be all adulting, even as an adult! ;)
I still can’t play maple story anymore because I was never really a fan of late game content. I always had the most fun getting a character up to 4th job (or third job pre big bang lol). Doing party quests, theme dungeons with stages that might require multiplayer if you’re not strong enough. Grinding the last few levels to a job advancement with the excitement of getting new skills - that’s what maple was all about for me. Now it’s just a game with a ton of basically useless early game content that you skip as you cruise to level 200, at which point you’re assigned chores that will make up the rest of your gameplay from now on, other than of course literal decades of grinding.
