here in Brazil, we have a big community! Since 2012 when they closed BMS, we never recive a atenttion. And we never stop player this game. At least It's nice to hear some news for us, but I wish we riceve more atenttion in future

I think what the game needs most ist a HEAVY declutter. The game is just SO full of features, events, dailies etc. it's very hard to not have your brain explode when you just wanna grind and kill some monsters.
That would cause the player base to drop again. The current formula promotes fomo and why Maple Story player base has been growing y-o-y regardless of server. We are still nowhere near the peak, but the server population is stabilized at 6 digits concurrent as far as GMS is concerned vs sub 30k at one point in early-mid 2010s
It's how they keep players addicted. They gotta add new things for players to grind when things get stale, then they can reduce the grind on older systems, so players feel like their quality of life is improving but in reality it's just an endless cycle of systems to grind. It's the formula that's been keeping them going, it's not going away.
@@Aetolus fair but you're comparing current GMS to the abandoned state it had surrounding the MS2 launch. The playerbase eventually came back after MS2 flopped even without the changes we see today
Either the algorithm has timed the months/years between the breaks you usually take and start playing again or you and me both have had similar experiences with thinking of something and seeing it on a recommended feed somewhere online, it’s spooky…
I love the way this was presented and carefully worded. They made sure to convey their intentions, addressed that they may fumble along the way, however they are going to try. They are listening, and that's all we could ask for. We won.
I want to love Maplestory so much. But I just can't invest the time to grind Meso just for my equipment to blow up in my face. The progression is just annoying.
At the end of the day, money is what talks. If GMS doesn't pull in the revenue and is deemed too expensive to deviate from KMS. You best believe the higher ups at Nexon will force GMS to just follow KMS again. But this is 100% a step in the right direction.
A company needs money to operate, who knew? Going down the KMS route is what almost killed the game multiple times over and these changes would've certainly been the nail in the coffin for many. More players = more money
I had resigned myself long to a unified system for ease of development because I get it, having to deal with various versions for a 20 year old game is very spaghetti code Even had dreams that all the content would be joined together, so KMS would get Malaysia and Singapore and Jett, and we could all have everything So seeing this being announced is definitely a surprise direction I am used to corporate disappointing, but I'll hope that this continues well and they honor this commitment.
Inkwell is the MVP, pretty much saved the state of Maple (for now). I knew a lot of people discussing how mesos cap would be where they call it quits for the game... Hopefully more issues get tackled in a positive way!
Maplestory needs to do somthing quick i tried getting back into it but everywhere is a ghost town and the people who do move from time to time never talk i feel like im playing a multiplayer game on singleplayer mode they need to combine all the servers into 1 so i can find some teamates
It's better when you're in an active guild/discord community. I play on Hyperion and honestly I prefer it. It's been a fantastic experience and I've met lots of really cool people.

Hey CopperSan, hope you've been well and early congratulations on the baby girl! Long time watcher but quit maplestory during the 6th star event because of how cruddy it was nerfed on top of booming my CRA hat 20 times. Then it was discovered Nexon has a dynamic RNG depending on how long you play and was amazed at how cruddy their tactics are. Had an 8.5k legion and stuff, quit at lv 273 iirc, not even sure. I guess beating Black Mage was my only objective. I'll always watch your videos, but like you, I have a full time job now and can't afford to spend so much time on the game that provided me so much entertainment and frustration.
man, aside from the meso issues and stuff..... i liked the cube system i saw. it made it so much easier to just go and cube things instead of having to go and find/buy cube items.

Besides work & my streaming on the side I'm going to try to jump on Maplestory when i can. My Buccaneer got a new makeover the last time i was on. Added a SSD to run it a bit faster.
How are people feeling? I've quit since Ezrabell was let go and really lost any faith in GMS Reboot carrying on in any meaningful way, but this does sound promising, and it's hard not to have a soft spot for a game that I first started in 2006.

I don't really get it yet, what will change in the game? I disliked the lack of class balance and the extreme OP room filled skills other classes has. Can that be changed?
Hold up a 3.0 after Big bang the 2.0 👀 this game came out on my 15th birthday and I still keep coming back to see what's new I haven't played the game in years but I keep seeing the cool trailers and the exciting new classes I'm happy it's still kicking when I was a kid I used to dream of owning it one day like if they ever closed down I wanted to buy them out because it was the biggest 2D platform MMO on the market when most MMOs go to 3D route and I feel like 2D is a really untapped market you have some people would hate to be but I still think you can make cooler animations into today because you literally can draw them to look like whatever you want on like 3D which is mostly just particle effects. But they are still kicking
The announcement was actually a huge surprise after remembering how often the community has been silenced over and over (community managers being fired and quitting over and over, no one listening to top posts, etc). I have some hope renewed!
Hey @coopersan Can you talk about the MapleStory controversy with cubes and cubing? I read that cubes had their rates set to never give you the perfect stats you were looking for no matter how many cubes you used the chance of getting the perfect stats was literally zero.
I really hope they will simple down the game for a new players perspective. So many events/mechanics/quests to do before your character becomes viable killing even 'low level bosses' like CRA
Still waiting for Maplestory Classic, Embarrasing it's taking so long after seeing the success of other games following the classic path. @ me when Classic is announced.
Probably because they realize it would be a huge waste of money. Even the most popular classic pservers wouldn't make a dent in nexons pocketbook compared to official. So why risk fragmenting your playerbase? Also classic isn't that great either, nostalgia goggles on for sure here. There's a reason the pservers don't retain more than 1,000 even with insane quality of life changes and xp multipliers. Because the game is just a complete grind fest that forces you to HP wash if you even want to participate in end game content on 80% of the classes.
Unfortunately, how can their claims be trusted while only them can factually prove if it's true or not and they've being lying to us for more than a decade...
i hope they let us help make better changes for maplestory global. this is one of my personal want from the game, tell me if u find this interesting or not. i would like to see a rebalance of how many monsters each job can hit. i say fist job is 3-8, 2nd job, 5-10, 3rd job 7-12, 4th job 9-15, 5th job 15-20, and 6th job 20-30. also, some 6th job passives increases the 4 job skill monster hits. (i dont know much about 6th job tho.) there r so many things they could change. tell me ur thoughts.

Idk if they can support it but it’ll be interesting if they flirt with the idea of merging all interactive world together. Can’t say anything about reboot worlds bc those are pretty filled up.
I just want an XP reduction man, and maybe a nerf to fast travel and the pq hub. The reason nobody socializes and explores any more is because of rush to end game and instanced boss farming. Imagine if you actually had the xp rates of classic and had to EXPLORE THE WORLD to get places, do quests to level up, and form big raids with players to defeat most bosses. You would start seeing players on random maps again, players would wanna socialize in between pqs and grind maps, and reaching job advancements would give you a feeling of accomplishment again. A new server with these stats would be an excellent, very easy to code comprimise between getting a classic server, and keeping all the new content.
This game was the one where it was literally impossible to actually max out because they were secretly manipulating the odds so it was virtually impossible while bleeding you of your actual dollars IRL.
