what would be the range with a hitec HS-805BB servo ? normal its from 1 to 180 range . and does it work on 6 volts ?does it need to stay connected after adjustment ?
A) The external one is not a “controller” but an H-Bridge drive. B) PWM is not a form of communication but Pulse Width Modulation that allows the Motor power supply to be “chopped” on and off in order to get a DC mean voltage “modulated” or adjusted betweenness -Battery Voltage till + Battery Voltage
Stop moving the damn thing!! Let me have a good look at it!! Bloody hell!! Sick of people talking about a thing while moving at about the whole time!! WHY!! Pointless!
Pro-tip: Be very careful with how you tighten the screws locking in the clamps. The stress on those clips is very significant and can often be overstressed. My team, 19575 Close Call, had an issue with overstressing the clamp and needed to rerig our entire arm!
I was curious about map(); this isn't std::map but an Arduino-specific function which deals in integer arithmetic, part of the Arduino framework functions (hence no import needed). Or so I think!
The publishes pulses per rotation for this odometer encoder is 2000, but the actual count is something like 750 or thereabouts. I would imagine if their was a quadrature reduction then the count would be 500. Could someone please explain this? It's impossible to get accurate odometry without having confidence in the odometer pulses per revolution...
Does anyone have a list of all of the parts needed to be ordered from goBilda in order to build the "red" robot. Our new team needs a place to start, but I need to know what parts to order for them. Any suggestions? I am a new coach too!!
I really enjoyed the video and there were a lot of great ideas. However, for any students thinking about implementing the hanging mechanism they showed, it is in violation of rules RG04 and G24 and would result in a major penalty in a real game match.
I believe it is legal as the hook is still attached to the robot by a string so doesn’t violate the rule that says robots can’t deliberately detach parts.
This product insight shows how it is mounted on that robot! cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-eem7ijc77k/images/stencil/original/products/2794/36930/3210-0004-0004-Product-Insight-2__79942.1695067135.png?c=2
Great work BrownCoat students! This video is great! Ri3D is all about explaining ideas. This video is so much more than a flashy reveal video, and it is helpful for explaining mechanisms to new students. Inspiring content, Ethan, well done.
