Hey guys thanks for staying tuned throughout what has been a very busy year for us. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2023. Here's a quick update on our whereabouts and a sneak peak at one of our early Christmas presents from Hollyland. Not a lot of sailing in this one but stay tuned as we prepare for our Atlantic adventure.

Great video guys as always, one hour after watching your recommendation for the Hollyland C1 headsets I ordered a set of two for our Elba 45 based in Martha Cove, Vic. Australia, I have been going to order a set for some time, I was just unsure which brand/ type to buy you just pushed me off the fence thanks so much, sick of being yelled at by the Admiral!! Happy New Year to you both and stay very safe on your upcoming trip, serious stuff indeed, looking forward to further videos.

Iridium go's don't require a mast head installation. they get most of their signal from low elevations, as do gps and other leo/meo constellations, even starlink. They work fine at mounted at deckhead or high on a bulkhead in the cabin. Long cable runs will knock over 6db out of your signal. Thanks that’s good to know but I wonder why they include multiple meters of cable in their installation kit. Are we expected to just coil it up in a cavity somewhere?

@@LetsDanceSailing yes, probably for 60 footers or larger. you can get a shoter pigtail made up easy enough, but it's up there now, so I'd just roll with it. fair winds across the pond : )

Cheers Doug, no the best weather window is Jan, Feb and March you get way more stable trade winds and less squalls coming in from the north. The ARC leaves in Nov, Dec because most people want to be on the other side for Christmas. Have a good one 🍻

Hi Mick, there’s not really a suitable one for the entire med but there are great pilot guides for each of the several regions. We used Imray and they are very good, one might even suggest essential. Google Imray Pilot Guides and you will see the areas that are covered but each edition. You can pick them up at most of the larger chandlery’s
