@@Deathraven693 haha 😂 nice! Hope you enjoy the series! Now I want to revisit this game and make a new season haha. I’ll try (attempt) to make a series like this on the new game I am playing on the channel (U-Boat). Thanks for reminding me how awesome Marcus was! Ahhh MEMORIES!
I tried to follow your suggestions, but I found a few roadbumps. I did load the Bigger Crew mod and that went well, but for some reason my crew task list is much shorter than yours, so I could not match it at that point. I started from a new game, because the mod required I start over, so that may be why. The other problem, probably nothing you can help with came when assigning priorities to the tasks, for some reason, I could not enter a value of 10, it always set to 0. Great video! From what I was able to set up my "hands-off" patrol went very similar to yours.
@@vandekraats in the setting before starting a game on the left sign it has Crew Management extended, or something like that. Check that box. It gives more tasks for a crew to do. For the 0 and 10. If you hold shift and scroll on your mouse wheel you will hear clicks, and it changes that way too, but when entering in manual number for 2 digit numbers, put the first number, click off, the click again but behind the first number and then enter the second number… it’s kinda janky. Haha I showed this around the 3:20 mark in the video.
Thanks so much for sharing. Would love to see you do multiple attacks in a video where you use it multiple times just to help us with memory with what to do. This has frustrated me immensely. :)
@@kingsgambit7734 I’ll try to make a better one for the type 7 which is kinda the same tactics… one day.. just iffy cause it’s beta, and video might be dated if they change something. No worries tho, this game has a learning curve, but keep going! You will get it!
Structure and explaining of the video are great, but there there are some mistakes. For example, if you wish to input current AOB, you have to use the Tool that pops up on the left, as well as other points brought forward in the comments already. Good work, but it might be worth while working on a secound version once indept knowledge is more refined :) 👍
I can't wait for the unstable to get stable, so many good new features and improvements. Btw, the English voiceover in this game is horrible and totally immersion-breaking. 😂
@@hege750 I imagine it as the Germany crew speaking only English so when they do messages it tricks the English since they are only speaking English. 😂
Correction: TDC (AOB) - 1. Line from your ship bow, to target ships bow. 2. Line from Target ships bow, towards direction they are traveling. (I put it as 90 in the video since that’s where I wanted to shoot.
AoB is constantly changing as the target is moving forward. How you measured AoB was not correct. You use protractor on your sub to the target then out in the direction the target is moving. All you did was ask your number 1 to do the work for you.
@@rikmuao4699 works both ways in this game. 🤷🏽 It’s a game. But… yes for if you are doing hardcore aiming. Also, I did it at a 0 or 90 degrees from them to me angle, cause that was my firing point. 90-130 degrees, so yea I did do it correctly. (3/3 hits) (well maybe the TDC auto updating also helps lol) AOB was auto updating also as we were moving forward. So technically I didn’t need to redo it often. TDC follows the ship once locked.
Actually tbh, AoB is just guesswork, lol. That's how they had to do it historically, and you kinda just got to get an eye for it. It's not too hard to get down, especially since you should, for the most part, be shooting from 80 to 100 degrees anyway.
This was not a TDC tutorial. You did not even use it during the attack. You used the automatic function were you tell your officers to update it for you.
@@kNOCommentGamingthis is a good tutorial on using the GUI but I’d say that “using the TDC” is actually using the TDC, as it’s fully interactive and most of us are looking to now how it works vs the mod.
I got sick of trying to turn on the batteries half way in with that terramorph and decided to force it into a duel of the fates style melee combat on the buildings lol 😅
lol 😂 Welcome to the club! I was like.. nah I’m not Turning all these batteries on… “Let’s Get Down!” Haha how did you fair against it? Are you on 61% max difficulty also?
OK, i must be an idiot but i dont see how TDC improves / changes the way I aim (in the stable version). Basically i still need to use map or periscope tools to get speed AoB and distance....exactly like before, maybe i can refine the spread angle using the target's length but the rest of the dials are displays or TDC calculated numbers that are better left unmodified. I certainly am missing something here.
No, you’re not an idiot. You can do it all manual without the map, but you will need the periscope. TDC allows for auto tracking once you lock in with the scope though, and setting up salvo solutions. This is all possible in first person without the map, just more difficult. There is a difficulty setting up”Hardcore Aiming” it forces you to use only the scopes to aim and fire. I think it’s just for added immersion. Adds to being more hardcore and realistic. Technically the auto lock and aiming isn’t real, but it a video game at the end of the day. Haha
It's just another option for players to use to have fun. You can get targeting data entirely from the map tools, purely from the periscope view, or you can use the TDC and control boxes. It's not supposed to necessarily be better or more accurate, just more fun. Whatever way you find most satisfying, it's there for you to utilize. If you want to use the TDC, I find it helps to focus on the basics: target speed, AoB, and distance. Everything else you can pretty much tune out. Although, one specific instance where TDC is better is if you want to have multiple tubes flooded and ready to go, but only fire one torpedo. Before, that was impossible in game, but now you can use the control box to select a specific tube to fire, which is pretty nice.
There is a WWII real document from the kriegsmarine in the internet called THE SUBMARINE COMMANDER'S HANDBOOK , describes the submarine U-boat tactics and strategy all aplicable in the game.
@@kNOCommentGaming It is in the San Francisco Maritime National Park Association web to read, and also in the subsim. It is not too long but it is very dense. It explains everything from attack to defense. I think everyone should read it to have a global vision of the submarine warfare in the 40´s and get more fun playing uboat because everything is useful.
Good video, but a bit confused why you kept taking and entering AOB measurements from the perspective of the sub and not from the perspective of the target. Does the game let you enter the correct AOB value? Why did it autocorrect the (incorrect) values you entered?
Yes you can enter in AOB measurements from the perspective of the Uboat. (You do this in either first person or Skipper Experimental view) The game does have a great PDF of how a targeted ship looks like from all angles and how to tell by looking at it what AOB it is. (You can see this pdf by entering the USO or UZO view as I did in the game, and looking in the top left corner of the screen for an “i” icon. Click on that opens the pdf) I did not do this for simplicity. My goal was to help with the understanding of what APB was, this is why I explained it the way I did externally. (in hind sight I should have showed both) the game lets you enter in an AOB value that is approximately close enough manually. (In first person or skipper view you turn the dial to approximately the value you want, in third person as I did you can enter it in exactly by typing the value and not turning the dial) Lastly it autocorrected the (incorrect) values I entered due to the scope being locked onto the target. (Note: The game auto updates the AOB for the angle the target is, and not your angle to the ship, this is encoded in the code of the game, and the TDC) Obviously in real life they have to keep following it, since this is a video game you can locked the scope to a target as I stated “lock the target” in the video. So, you can wait for the perfect 90-130 degree AOB without worry about manually fill the target and fire the torp(s). But…. You can unlock the target and follow manually if you wish. This is more challenging, but the game allows this for realism. (Once again I locked on target for simplicity of the video.) When I make a new TDC tutorial for the Type VII Uboats TDC (which is different) I’ll do it by showing the pdf and finding the AOB that way. Without using the external view or map view. (This TDC also auto follows once “locked” on. It is a video game at the end of the day. Haha) Hope this answered your question questions. Also thanks for watching and getting that far in the video! Update: As of today June 23, 2024 2024.1 Preview 16 just updated to be more precise with dial selections. You can now use the mouse wheel to be more precise! AWESOME!
It’s a steep learning curve, but trust me…. Once you get past learning.. it’s addictive! Sometimes I play off line and just chill out in first person walking around and just listening to the chatter, and comments, or play cards with my crew 😂 roleplaying taking their money!
I know! I bought it like last year and never played then saw someone playing a week ago, and I redownloaded it and already clocked insane hours 😂 It was fun learning the game and tactics, was overwhelming at first but now it’s just so chill and relaxing and immersive!
I think this is a great one to start with. It's in-depth enough to feel cool, while still being gamey enough to be accessible. And you can fine tune it in either direction you wish. It's a great game. If you REALLY want to feel cool, look into a game called Wolfpack.
It is the unstable version. On Steam go to the game, right click go to properties, then betas, and on the list go all the way to the bottom to “Unstable”. That’s the 2024.1 Full Release Beta.
Great vid dude - also a note the Later Uboats have a different TDC, they can lock the AOB to the Attack Periscope so it auto updates im sure there are other features but im no expert 😊 something to keep in mind for when you progress!
No problem. I’m glad you liked it. I wanted to be as thorough as possible. Learning the history, how it works, and then showing it off is the best way to learn about something. I will have more tutorials on this game in the future. I’m working on a few ideas now with A.I. testing out my theories. Haha
Well, great content 👍🏾‼️Now I want a mod where all my spacesuits are designer like Dapper Dan, Gucci, Lv, McM, Jv Bad Boys, and Bally. I want an Adidas tracksuit as my casual wear. And yes, I too want to wear a Spaceship🤯🤔🧐
Your Mods are great, Love the Strarborn Protector Suits, The Quad Barrel Coachman, The 6 Black Guns are amazing too... Just the amazing looking Atticus Suit seems to have a bug, as soon as you wear it, the hands are gone. He looks fine on a Mannequin... Not sure if its just me...
Thanks! I want to do a more clean, and organized tutorial, but the game updates so much, so fast. Haha 😂 I have it downloaded still and update it regularly I just have to get around to sitting down and learning the new update/systems in place. I will make a new updated tutorial one day. Haha promise! 😅
Yeah I thought so too, I did a test run, and everything worked great! So I recorded that video that comes out tomorrow. Hopefully I can finish up that series without issues. It will just be the UC Vanguard missions. The title of the series is Captain my Captain.
With the new content like the Trackers Alliance and mods like Useful Brigs my Bounty Hunting role play is complete. Looking forward to all the greatness Bethesda and the Modding community will bring to this game.
I really hope someone can do a bounty hunter mod that's very fleshed out. You can already capture people with Useful brigs and non lethal takedown mods. So now we just need a bounty hunter quest giver mod.
It's just an update to make it a console game. Won't come close to being a new simulator. 21 Years Retired U.S. Air Force. Also that is not a C-130, it's an Airbus A400M cargo plane.
@@tubeloobs All I'm saying is, is Microsoft is making 2024 version a console game version. In no way are they improving on the real simulation side of it. That is obvious by the statement it will be available on Game Pass and Xbox. Plus the crappy video they show.
@@georgefaulk2528 you are very ignorant of the facts. Do yourself a favor and go watch the MSFS keynote address at FSEXPO 2023. 2020 is also available on game pass so that argument makes ZERO sense
@@JS-PressPlay MSFS 2020 did not start out as a console game. I was a Beta tester for MSFS 2020 and asked Microsoft at the time if it would be offered on Xbox and they said flat out NO!. But look now.
Had to clear and restart my comment because you touched on pretty much the same point that I was driving at: I would wager that 99.99% of the Starfield haters have less than a single hour invested into the game and are most likely heavily addicted to things like TikTok, "quick-reward" style mobile games, along with any other typical combination of collective, cognitive deterioration. For those of us who are still willing to put forth a bit of effort before making a hasty and uninformed judgment, Starfield is quite entertaining. I would even go so far as to call it exquisite. Currently 153 hours in and still loving it 😅
Well said! If people just slowed down, and enjoyed life, and what's in front of them... you see a lot more. I do this with video games now. Slow and steady.
I reinstalled the game, saw quest bug 1 never fixed, went the atlas encountered some new dialogue that took 5 mins, set some new settings.....went for a walk(enjoyed the new map and texture).....missing texture bug 2, and 3 still not fixed........Sighed.....pulled my gun out and shot next to a guard's head.....no reaction......uninstalled and typed the exp here.... saving you the trouble. (Starfield is still not ready, revisit the Cyberpunk and Starfield compare video.)
What texture bugs are you seeing? I am not sure of those? I will have to look for them, so I can comment on them. But the Cyberpunk idea is good. I have not played that game since almost release also. haha Update: Seems like its since capturing a ship or something like that. Have you tried complete deleting the game from your library, and even the saved files in every location on your PC? Then doing a clean install. Even delete all the files associated with your steamid and the game. Should be a clean wipe then.
Just saw a Reddit post: u/Atelier-Mar 8mo ago - You took a ship you boarded to new Atlantis didn't you. u/Jammanuk avatar Jammanuk 8mo ago - Yeah, is that what causes it? - Its odd that it then breaks the texture in save games before I even had that ship though Update: From a Reddit User: You know this might actually be it, i think it started right after I captured a pirate ship, sold "stuff" at the Den, then somehow teleported to New Atlantis Well considering 3 of us had the same pattern, i think we have the Cause... now to figure out the Fix :D
Haha.. Its for copyright reasons. This saves me from being nailed as stealing content without alerting the video in any way. I had previous copyright strikes.. Not sure if YT changed their stand on copyrights, but not taking a chance.
People really slept on this game. I played over 100 hours when it first came out. Yeah people had valid criticisms about some of the emptiness but the game is going to keep growing at an insane rate. The creator community is going to fill the universe with so much content. It will take a lifetime to find it all
Very Valid Point! I was one of the ones at the beginning on Day 1 who played less than 2 hrs, and didn’t like what I was playing, or seeing. Fast forward 8/9months later… I’m making content on this game, and think about playing it all day! 😂
I know! This was huge! I hated buying only 20-200 rounds of ammo at a time. When playing on Extreme difficulty ammo just gets run dry so fast! My skills aren't high enough to eat enemies armor and health yet, so it take a lot of ammo to down one.
