That's unfortunate to hear, coming back in after like 1.5 years away, I saw their various notes about AI on patch notes, but... well I guess it's still a bit of a punching bag :( Huh, Aug 25 their dlc releases, Steam shows a hotfix on Aug 26, but there were quiet hotfixes since then, last one being on Oct 7.
@@Alavaria Yeah even with the patch updates.. check out Season 4 Episode 1-4 (this one)... to see how unbalanced the AI is. This whole season was doomed from the start, and my last 3 videos on this game proves it. :( Sad cause I really like this game! October 7 was over 2 months ago. hehe
Ah, yeah set the difficulty to Very Hard? I guess that basically pits AI with bonuses vs AI without bonuses, I suppose without the player controlling the player faction, that would be really one-sided (the bonuses are hilariously powerful) I actually wondered how they would avoid the AI basically losing the campaign "for" the player, but apparently it just does :(
@@Alavaria You basically said it! Perfectly explained. Haha I wanted to start from the bottom on Very Hard, but since it would take so long for me to make a difference and rise up the ranks to control my own Army… it’s like impossible. But I think if I could have made decisions earlier on I maybe could have done something to change the OP AI approach.
hey! question: what type of rifles are you using compared to the csa? also, i noticed the ai is good at getting an army to a target but bad at attacking it, cause it wants to move every soldier to the same spot which seems to force units to stand in the same spot repeatedly instead of forming a firing line on a regimental level. so the game favors defenders because of it. i think the best way to play is to get to brigade command as quickly as possible to start earning prestige. then you can have more control of the battle outcome. that may mean pissing off someone by taking their command if necessary. other than that, as long as your rifles can at least match, if not overcome the enemy's rifles range then setting up proper battle lines should win you most victories
Yep getting control is best… but I was roleplaying from starting from the bottom, and once making Colonel then getting a rifle regiment. But I never made it. Since I was only a Major in charge of Artillery. So the rifles question… my unit didn’t use them, but I’m not sure what the other regiments were using. The CSA AI was way overpowered… and since I didn’t have control of command.. AI vs AI (Player)… AI (Player) would lose vs just Very hard difficulty AI (Player)… as we saw in the 4 episodes. I hope a patch can fix this! I was stuck in my roleplaying aspects, and that’s what doomed this season. If I just used prestige to take over, and control the AI I think it would (the season) still be going.
