Hello Everyone; this channel is dedicated to playing the game Cities: Skylines and exploring urban design through it. I use my experience traveling the united states to help shape my city's ideals. I pulled from this experience when I designed my towns. So if you enjoy watching unique builds and doing things differently, you have come to the right place. I like to build cities how I wish they were or how I think they should be. I focus on tutorials, beginners, more advanced modding, and everything in-between. Come join us as we explore this game and have a good time!
The thing I've noticed about these detailed, realistic builds, is the lack of traffic issues. I'm not sure I understand if there's a mod involved to keep the traffic low and realistic, or if it's just good design that I absolutely have no skillset for.
It's mostly the placement of collectors and artieriels. I'm planning to do a guide here soon going over stuff like this. But if you focus on accessibility you can usually get rid of most traffic issues.
While hovering over the road click and hold the mouse in upgrade mode then slide it the other direction. If your talking about left hand versus right hand drive that is usually selected when starting a city. Hope this helps.
Are there any graphics mods that you are using? I am trying to get my game to look better, especially since my PC can handle it. But even when I put all my settings to max the game still looks subpar
Yeah, it can be a bit tricky with this game. I keep my game on 4k low as I find it runs best at that level and still looks decent. I use a customer theme as well that allows me to change all of the textures. I believe this may be what you need.
I'm a really new beginner. I just got the game yesterday off Xbox app on PC. on a friend recommendation to try it. First thing i'd like to know, is why your UI looks completely different than mine? Mine looks so clunky and garbage compared to what you have. Is it because i got the xbox app version and not steam? I know this video is a year old but i'm hoping you'll see this and respond. I could use all the help i could get. My cities are garbage. I also didn't see you having to do much Electrical layout work, where as i have to keep running power everywhere and it really sucks because space is usually already occupied.
Hey! Welcome to the game! My ui looks different because of mods that I play with for visual reasons. The Xbox UI does look a little different as well. For this series I use mods to make it look a little better for the recordings but I don't use mods for the gameplay so console players can follow along. Feel free to jump into the discord server and ask questions.
Just so you are aware, you can do fences as a network. Go to the same panel where you do surfaces, then in the last tab in that panel you should see fences.
Harbor concept: a long breakwater from the island, following the coast with marina services on the protected side, eventually connected to mainland by a bridge; leave that crescent beach nearby exposed----that's where folks with beach umbrellas will park themselves to watch the sailboats in the bay.
"maybe you're grabbing some milk or you need some sugar" , When I'm playing games, most of the time I do roleplaying, I love simulators and I create storylines, even playing single modes, I always did that since I was a kid, so I love when I watch people talking like this, with this simulation mindset. I love it, thanks. Great video.
I feel like with a high school, a college and a university, plus all of those sports fields, that area should have a metro connection or urban train. Other than that the city is coming along amazing!
Love this education overhaul! Especially the education mega campus! But I feel like you could milk those facilities even further… with a railroad so close you could definitely add another station at the new university allowing a rail university line: technical uni, downtown, mega campus
Out of all the CS2 gameplays i watch, i enjoy yours the most. ❤ I think making an additional district with just full of education buildings that could act as your city's main campus and add those special buildings you can drop that could act as annex and different wings for your main city university. Plus i think you should add more parkings spots. Great content!
Yeah, I fortunately it's a different building style now. Bump up your tax to about 15% or more across the board. I even went as high as 30 percent for res and kept the rest as low as ten to encourage growth. It kills you residential wealth but it can get you through the tough times
@dobbs024 I hope it helps. It took me a few trys to get a city going with the new economy. I do find the challenge is a little more rewarding now though versus cities just working
@@CityZilla you are great and I love your content! I actually did sponsor you for some time until you stopped CS1 😔 In my opinion, please try to look at Imperatur's content and make some more unique CS1 builds/cities/unique areas. We are all still here and we want great content for a great game from great creators 🙏🏻
I don't often think about them. I think because I am from the states it's just not something that I utilize that often. Even though I know they are better
Yeah, it's mostly mod conflicts that are causing the issues. Move it had an update where the button is now optional though. If you go into the menu for it you can choose whether to show it or not
stumbled upon your CS2 content for this series last night and already finished up to the recent one. can't wait for your updates. you're so good at what you do!
🤣 I started out trying to use inspiration and morphed to just doing my own thing. Wait till you see some of the ideas I have coming down the pipe. Glad you are enjoying it!
Which map layout have you chosen when starting new game? I can't find a map like your and can't move on building similiar city. Also after I build roads I can't put energy factory don't know why
Hmm, that's weird. If you put the power plant on the road it should fit. You do need to do power lines as well though for cities 1. The map is called coastal gem and it's apart of the plazas and promenades dlc
Maybe follow Sydney's naming convention for public transport: M1, M2, M3 for metro; L1 for light rail (trams); T1, T2, T3 for trains; F1 for ferries; B1, B2, B3 etc for buses
How is that city not drowning in pollution with that massive industrial area? I can't figure out how to prevent pollution from becoming a problem quickly.
Thank you! I'm starting to really enjoy it! I do miss a lot of the functions still of the first one though. I really wanted to do more to the airport for example but there's just not a lot I can do
