He was a lovely man... I was dating a Nigerian actor in the early 70's who had had a part in the BBC TV Pantomime that Christmas, starring Dick Emery. We were driving slowly down a London street when Dick Emery spotted us from the pavement, and waved us to stop. He then came over and made a huge fuss of my boyfriend, greeting him like a long lost friend. Later on my boyfriend said ' you do realise don't you, that he did that for me? So I would look a success in your eyes? ..........Legend!
