Absolutely true story. When this song first came out, my mother would listen to it _literally_ every single time it came on the radio. Then, one morning, she hears it again, and immediately orders me to turn up the radio. "That's the song I like! The one sung by...Jan and Dean." It took me five minutes to explain her mistake to her. Because for the first four minutes and fifty-nine seconds, I was laughing my head off over the mental image of the real Jan and Dean singing this song!

We learned the chorus of this song growing up from our dear Mother, we sung it at our Mother's funeral just 8 days ago as a Special Number. I sing this song now everyday and sometimes I cry because she was a very loving MOTHER and she lived 5 months shy of her 100th birthday. I miss her most especially today, it's MOTHER'S DAY.
