Awesome product! One question and I am sure it's me doing something wrong. when I try to alt+leftclick drag a spline point out, for me the mesh doesn't follow, I have to draw out a second spline point, then Ctl+z and then the previous spline points update with the meshes. does anyone know what I am possibly doing wrong?

Our suggestion is to check your editor preferences for any settings related to spline manipulation or mesh updates. There might be options that can be adjusted to improve the workflow. If none of the above solutions work, it's possible that you're encountering a bug or glitch in the Unreal Engine editor. Consider searching the Unreal Engine forums or issue tracker to see if others have reported similar issues. Alternatively, try updating to the latest version of Unreal Engine to see if the problem has been resolved.

We have conducted some research on this issue. It seems that if you are using the new UE editor 5.4, Epic has changed the way blueprints react to spline updates. This appears to be a bug from Epic, and we hope they will introduce an update to resolve this behavior. Just learning how to use this. Its amazing. I have a question though. Is it possible for me to make a road, with sidewalks and traffic lights (and road markings) and then export the whole thing out of UE5 an FBX and then be able to import it into Blender or iClone8? I actually bought this for my indie video game that I am making in UE5 but I am also working in film VFX and need to mock up some road/street/city scenes. Many thanks

We regret to inform you that we haven't yet tested or designed this product for exporting into third-party software. Achieving similar results with exported data in third-party software may prove challenging due to virtual texturing (UDIMs) and multichannel UV mapping. However, we plan to explore these possibilities in the future, and if feasible, we may consider implementing these features in future updates. In the meantime, we thank you for your patience and understanding.

The Crossroad Generator is an advanced version of the Road Generator, designed to work independently with additional features and an extended library of meshes and assets. Each product will receive updates independently, offering different features and enhancements. Regarding road banking, both the Road Generator and Crossroad Generator support road banking on turns. However, to simulate road banking, you'll need to manually rotate the spline points on turns.

I'm blown away by how great this is. I've been looking for a road creator tool with bridges for ages. I'm curious, how difficult is it to change the textures to say using some from Megascans? I'm probably gonna end up buying all of your assets! :)

Regarding your question about changing textures on any module such as bridges, roads, or sidewalks, it's actually quite straightforward. In the advanced settings of each module you can locate the static mesh (for example "bridge module"). Open the module and simply change the material to the one you prefer within the static mesh settings. Alternatively, you can locate the mesh in the meshes folder and swap the material there with the one you prefer. You'll be able to customize the textures on any module to your liking. It's a pity that the tutorials are not kept up to date. Unfortunately the pick for the landscape is missing. The layer name Road is not sufficient to adapt the landscape to the road. This makes the whole tool unusable for me.

Hello, I encountered an issue where after adding collision to my road surface model, when I drag the blueprint into the scene, it doesn't have collision. However, when I drag the model itself into the scene, the model has collision.

Sorry for stupid question, but how do i bake landscape deform from the roads to the landscape? When i enter landscape mode the deformations dissapear? I want to be able to add some more sculpts around it

Hello, thank you for reaching out to us. No worries, there are no stupid questions! 😊 Firstly, it's interesting that you mention the deformations disappear when entering landscape mode. This shouldn't be happening. Please double-check that you have added a sculpting layer named "road" as the deformations are related to this layer. Regardless of whether you exit or reenter landscape mode, the deformations should persist within that layer. If not, there may be another issue at play. You might want to try recompiling the project with a fresh start by deleting the config folders (except the content folder) from the main project directory. Alternatively, consider reinstalling the UE editor or updating it. If you'd like to bake deformations from the "road deformation layer," here's a workaround: create a new sculpting layer in landscape mode. Then, in the manage settings of the landscape, export the height map into displacement maps and re-import them into a new fresh layer. What happens if I do not see “edit layers” feature inside my Landscape editor sculpting area? I’m able to deform to the landscape but it’s giving me that gap issue so I can’t turn off any other layer since I do not see Edit Layers. 🤔

Please double-check if you are in the landscape mode and in the sculpting section. If the issue persists, try reinstalling the editor or contacting Epic Games to inquire about what might be causing the missing menu in the landscape mode. Btw.. how are you able to deform the landscape if you can't see the edit layers, thus unable to add a "road deformation layer" into the edit layer menu?

Sorry posting too many comments, If there is a discord or something I would ask doubts on those forums but since this is only way to contact or ask doubts, that's why posting it here. My doubt is, If I try to create a bridge, and raise some control points, how do I scale the pillars/foundations down to reach the ground? because since bridge and road are connected together, when I raise the control point for road, bridge also raises with it and looks flying above the ground. some places I deform the landscape accordingly but few places I want those pillars to be long in heights and reaches the ground. how to do that?

Regarding the bridge, the pillars and foundations are created with custom meshes of fixed sizes. If you would like to change the sizes of each element, you will need to use your custom meshes to replace the pre-loaded blueprint meshes. Currently, there is no parameter for controlling each pillar size separately. However, we appreciate your suggestion, and we will make efforts to implement this feature in future updates. You have the option to choose from 4 different road types, each with varying sizes. The road width is determined by the road mesh itself. One thing I'm confused about, is that I own 3 of your products. Road Generation, Cross Road Generation, and Powerlines. Do I specifically have to use the Powerlines Generator separate of the one that comes with the road generator to get these added features? Or does having both loaded in the project mean I can just use the road and the powerlines settings will have the extra features included from this pack?

Hello, we haven't tested it in that specific way yet, but it shouldn't pose a problem. You can override all materials and adjust your post-production volume settings to achieve the desired stylized effect.

Hello, i have a little problem with your road generator, we imported/generated alot of Landscapes with Terraform, as i can see they are not really different from normal landscape except that i cant deform the Landscape with your roads and i dont know why, i can project to Lanscape but thats all, do you have any idea ? Edit : Deform Landscape only work on our first Landscape ( Landscape0 ) all the other doesnt want to be affected

my traffic signs keep appearing in the street. also sometimes the road gets partly buried under the landscape when i use the deform checkbox.

Hello, and thank you for getting in touch! It seems that roads with significant curvatures are causing the traffic signs to overlay the road or sidewalks. To address this issue, we recommend using the transform options to offset the signs. If this doesn't resolve the problem, you can consider creating traffic signs separately from the road, allowing you to place them exactly where needed. We are going to address this issue in the future update.
