I also own the rt81 and it is a really fine turntable and the beat ourselves adjusting o if you look at it and set it up right you can adjust them by turning the turntable I'm side to side and it will settle in at the correct height. Love this turntable and excellent review and I hope you have it for a long long time
Nice review, thanks. I have two corrections about the RSL, though. 1. That's not a crossover, it's a selectable high-pass filter for the speakers. There is no low-pass filter, so the entire frequency range, not just the bass, is sent to the pre-out jack. 2. The pre-out IS variable. I've got my sub connected to it and its volume changes along with the speakers. For me, the RSL a perfect little desktop amp. I've got it connected to a FiiO K5 Pro ESS, an old B&W subwoofer, and a pair of RSL CG3M speakers. This is where the high-pass filter really shines, by the way. More of these little Class D amps should have them.
Yes, high pass is the correct term. Thanks for the info. Low pass can be set on most subs. I agree, more of these little amps needs this feature. I do have an Arylic B50 that has crossover controls, but I don't think it sounds as good as the RSL.
I had K7 BT link to my PC with usb and when i turn it of. It wil also turn of my philips hue play lights. My hue play lights use internet cable I never seen this and this problem i dont have with my K9 AKM
Great review. You put lots of thought and effort into your comments and its much appreciated. I think this might be the one to replace my Advent Model 300.
I have the FiiO K5 Pro ESS, and it's quite good for $150. The new Schiit Magni with internal DAC would probably sound a lot better for $40 more, but its only digital input is USB C. I like having connectivity options.
I love everything RSL. I had to have this little amp, and I do not regret it. I drive a pair of Klipsch RP8000F II with no trouble. I will soon be using it with the amazing CG23M and Speedwoofer 10E for a bedroom system. It is shocking how good this tiny amp is. I stream Tidal with it and am more than pleased. Class D is here to stay.
I've got a 10S MkII in my main system (with RSL CG5s, BTW) and it's fantastic. I haven't heard the 10E, but I'm sure it sounds great too. I think RSL does high quality for low price better than just about anyone else.
What does it mean when you try charging this Model and you get both a red & blue indicator light on the back? Also cannot enter pairing mode at all, when all other devices are unpaired. Speaker worked a couple days ago. Now cannot get the speaker to do anything.
@@TheFrugalAudiophile Yes, it is ridiculous. It is really getting out of hand, especially with hi-fi audio equipment. I am putting together a new sound system for my computer and the speakers I want to get for the mains needs a sub. I don't want a bit sub either and this Monoprice sub looks like it would fit the bill. But now it is $100 more than from your review.
Thanks much, been looking at these. My longtime favorites are Portapros (with EQ to lift the veil), but I gotta check out these 40s. They're basically an official mod that people have done for years - snap their Koss drivers into 3rd party metal headbands. Hi kitty! 🐈
I listened to you video review again and I did pick up that you were very pleased with it and being impressed how far class D has come. I ordered it and should have Friday! Can't wait !
I've had not heard the Arya so I can't really say. If they are a little brighter than go with the K7. If they are a little warmer than go wit the DX3 Pro+. Both should work pretty well tho.
Does this work even after switching power off/disconnecting from power and turning on again or only when in standby? Can't find any information... THANK YOU.
@@TheFrugalAudiophile Thanks for answering. :) B50. Sound system (soundbar at the moment) and TV both are connected to a switchable socket which is turned off while not watching TV. When turning back on I want the B50 to react to arc and to switch on when turning TV on without even caring for B50 (B50s little switch on the front left will also never be turned off since socket will turn off system completely).
@@Peter_F300 Sorry, for the slow reply. I kept forgetting to test this. So, I powered on my tv (TCL 32" 3 Series Roku TV) and that, of course, turned on the B50. I then turned off the system at the surge protector to emulate a smart switch powering off. The ARC light on the B50 went out. I then turned the surge protector back on. The B50 turned back on (ARC light turned back to purple) but the TV did not. I could then power on the TV with its remote and audio was being played through my speakers using the B50. Oh, the B50's power switch was set to on the entire time I was running this test. Hopefully that helps !
the kph30i headband is prone to snapping.. happened to me twice and I look after my stuff! from what I've read the clears are more sturdy. I've had the rhythm beige and the greys snap. as for the 40's, the plastic slider on that is prone to snapping, happened to me within a few weeks and I've seen others complain of the same thing. Luckily it's an easy fix, some nylon string wrapped neatly looks awesome and lets it slide silently, very sturdy too!
I have the RSL amp. I like it a lot. I generally feed it music files from my computer through the USB Input. It’s plenty loud for the medium size room I have it in. I have it hooked up to Sony SS-CS5 three way speakers. I have had it hooked up to an 8” subwoofer, and that worked well. For $110 shipped I think it’s a great deal.
You see, I've been looking forward to a turntable with Bluetooth connectivity for ages. All this time, my modest record collection has been patiently waiting for its chance to shine again in our storage room. Thanks to Sony PS LX310BT, I am able to obtain a magnificent sound out of my vinyls thanks to this great record player... and my Bose system, without any amplifiers and more cables (the one condition my wife had). Believe me, it does sound amazing!. One year after I bought it, I'm more than pleased with it. Thanks for the review. Cheers from Spain.
I got a THX sub years ago for $120 Canadian, the Logitech Z623 and before you laugh, I know a guy that said it outperformed their 12" Klipsch sub. It's a little powerhouse of a sub!
@@carewser Well, rattling a house does not necessarily constitute a good sub. It just means it hits a frequency on which something in your house resonates.
@@TheFrugalAudiophile I didn't say it was the sub to end all subs I was basically just saying for the money it's amazing. Even if just the sub were $120 it would be an excellent deal as it has a 130 watt RMS amp but it includes 70 watt satellite speakers as well. Find me another sub that can do what it does even without satellite speakers for that price
No. I am thinking that as you attenuate the level the cue increases as well affecting more the bass or treble. This often how these types of EQ's work. It's not a fantastic system, but it's there if one desires to use it.
Is a 10 even a sub? 90db wtffff?!? 116 is reference! I was forced to get rid of my insane subs and a 10 feels like itmust be a toy. Heck, I'd say 4 x 12 is entry level. Smh, im screwed for finding anything practical after coming from 3*18 sealed and 2*18 massive ported boxes before that (with 50lb woofers in each) that were -3 at 15hz and each maximg around 120-122db around 60hz
😂😂Big subwoofer only if you have big space to watch movies or if you like Ghetto music. For the rest of us it is about quality bass, rather than quantity!
I bought 2 808 S subwoofers - I love their slim dimensions and grey grille - they look amazing and don't take up much space and sound great too. I like the bottom mounted connections - it can then be placed against a wall easily.
@@mathtrixmusiclix4248 lol. im using a k11 @1$120 and its suffice . its an amp, the sound isn't distorted , it revives these low volume sounding Moondrop Paras. I go recommended the topping pro so Im laughing at your comment
Own it. Longevity. Already failing so I don't think it's worth the money if it doesn't last just beyond the warranty period. Of course that is something no one talks about and will be interesting to see if mine is just a one off or others start failing. Sound quality...could use a bit more bass. Maybe the bass setting start at 10 and then go up from there. Harsh...yeah that's a good way to put it. I certainly wouldn't give it a passing grade now.
Thanks for your info man it was from b side from the Sony 190 to Sony sub wires go on the right side in had two wires on left moved to right working fine thanks
I've got Klipsch 8ohmns on a side sub is 6ohmns got on b side of Sony 190 to b side on Sub put on blue tooth play a song phone volume half way receiver on 20 took a min to protect mode didn't turn up sub not half way but can side a be 8ohmns setting and b side for sub 6 ohmns since it is or okay for setting side a put on 6 ohmns on 8ohmn speakers thanks for your response things seem not touching wire wise didnt know if it mattered with one side 8 and other 6 ohmms dc from tenn
Can you put 8ohmn on a side and put them 0n 6ohmn the active sub new sony active sub is 6ohmn i put a side 8ohmns sub 6 ohmns and threw it in protection mode do all speakers have to be 6ohmns
That's strange. If the sub is a powered sub it shouldn't have much resistance. Maybe you accidentally connected something wrong, a couple of wires touched that shouldn't?
