Good review, thank you. I have one of those from a year ago to give new life to a pair of bose 201. No issues at all. bluetooth, aux, works as expected. Good unit for the price.

I used this unit for a year, used an external DAC/Pre-amp from Arylic S50 Pro+ connected through Optic and this made this unit sound more expensive and really good open sound. Inside Aiyima D03 is a DAC chip from Texas Instruments TAS 5548 Still use Arylic S50 Pro+ with Fosi E10 PRO today. Going to buy Fosi ZA3.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review really appreciate your insights about the sub-out. I would point out that this amp has a ton of EQ settings Jazz/Classical/Dance/Pop/Soft/Normal/Rock/Soft Rock/ & a bypass setting. Additionally, +/- 12 db for both Bass & Treble. Also 3 loudness as settings 1, 2, and off (thankfully). The 'hifi' bypass setting shuts off all tone controls. Take care and keep up the reviews!

Nope. I guess that he speak about D05. There you have EQ options, loudness steps and ±12 dB bass/treble adjustment. On D03 we don't have that, only ±14 dB bass/treble adjustment. I received mine yesterday and that's why I was curious. Nevertheless D03 sounds nice on my Mission MX-3 speakers, on par with my 30 years old Technics SU-V500 amplifier. At least for my old ears. For now I didn't saw/hear those dropouts in sound but I'll keep an eye (ear?) on this problem. Next I'll try a subwoofer. BTW I've asked Aiyima about subwoofer frequency and those are the two answers I got: Hello, thank you very much for your feedback, the AIYIMA D03 digital amplifier has a low-pass filtered bass torch output, not a straight-through one. Erin from the AIYIMA team Our subwoofers are low pass filtered, not passthrough. @@burebista00 That's good to know about the sub out tho! At least it has low pass even if there's not high pass for the speakers. I just turn the bass level down not he amp a bit and adjust the sub to taste.

There is a very quiet hiss, but that is typical with most amps, especially inexpensive ones like these. I rarely notice it tho unless I am trying to.

Thanks, I wonder if you can help me. I was about to buy this, to connect to my TV with the optical cable, and go to my Tannoy speakers. I think it will be fine, but sometimes I want to watch TV with my wired headphones/ I know this doesn't have a headphone output, but what would be a solution to this, considering my TV doesn't have a headphone output? The Lox A30 has headphone output, but apparently its loud, and bad quality

First solution would be get bluetooth headphones. Second, there are headphone amps on the market with a BT input. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but if you search "bluetooth headphone amplifier" on amazon or your favorite audio retailer you should come up with some good options. There is no wired output on the B50 so you will have to go with BT.

The Emotiva BasX A2m you recommend doesn't have optical nor a remote. What's a small DAC amp with better sound quality than this that has all the features of this one? I own this and have mainly been using it with vinyl and it sounds ok to me so far. Haven't had any issues with audio cutting out.

The Topping DX3 is a great DAC and includes a remote.

@@ati5238 adding a high-quality deck will improve the sound quality to a certain extent. You will still be limited by the components within this amplifier though. If I recall, it is a pretty decent sounding amplifier though.

Me too, I rarely adjust the amps volume preferring to leave it at its optimum level for my ears and for my room.

No, this unit only has BT in, not out. If you just want to connect headphones to your PC via BT you can either use its built-in BT connection or get a cheaper BT transmitter. If you want to power speakers and use BT headphones as well I think Arylic makes a unit that can do this.
