I'm Dusan Malobabic, an artist from Perth, Australia, where I live with my wife and two boys. Since childhood, I've been passionate about art and always aspired to be an artist.
With the support of my parents and an exceptional Art teacher in Secondary School, I pursued this dream. I graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne with a degree in Fine Art - Painting.
My preferred mediums are oil paint on canvas, using palette knives and brushes. People are a vital element in my artwork, and I strive to create narratives within the landscapes they inhabit.
Each painting is an opportunity for me to enhance my technique, deepen my understanding of the subject matter, and strengthen my connection to my ideas.
Thank you for viewing my paintings. I hope you enjoy them.
I had a minor surgery a few days ago. I watched this while having some horrible pains at 1 in the morning post-op. I didn't even finish the video before falling asleep. Something about it is so comforting watching the palette knife dance across the canvas and create shapes out of nothing. I came back to see the finished masterpiece.
watching you paint is so interesting like you put down your colors and one moment it’s an undefined blob and the next it’s something beautiful and well detailed like what !! where did that car come from !!!!! event the way light reflects on the paint adds to the piece it’s so beautiful and well done ❤
As someone just getting into oil painting, its incredible to watch how you give such form and texture to the painting with the palette knife. Amazing work, thanks for sharing and allowing us into your process!
As a creative director I’d like to see some fire glow above the fire in the trees, maybe even some sparks floating up into the night. Additionally I think the night sky is a bit too blue, bright that is. Ok I’ll stop.
RU-vid recommended your channel to me and I was absolutely thrilled at first. Would you ever consider sharing real time versions of these? The sped up palette knife was very jerky and watching it made me feel quite nauseous. 😢
