I wonder whether Wilson will want to re-sign with the Jets because of the murky QB picture. Rodgers has 1or 2 years left. Then what? He knows first hand that he can't make the playoffs or reach his full individual potential with a crap QB. If I were Wilson I'd play out the string and sign with the KC Chiefs or the Charger s or try to work out a trade to one of those teams.Could you imagine him with Mahomes?
@Suffering_Jetfan they were saying the same things last year in camp just that Lazzard and Cobb were the focus. He even showed promise with his limited playing time.
Miami will have a roster of practice squad players after paying Tyreke, Wadell and Tua. Hopefully JD will figure out how to avoid that after paying the draft class of 2022.
Thanks for the update!! God bless! Jesus Christ is King and saves and is the way! Psalms 62 - "Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken." Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
I haven't really heard anybody talking about Izzy returning kicks. Dude is lightening in a bottle. Since he can't block worth a squat, we ought to give him a shot at returning. Just seems to make sense.
@@locoman888 No idea, but dude's highlights showed some good shiftiness and serious speed. And that seems like it would fit really well with the new kick-off rules.
Since we're doing early 53 man roster predictions I also join in the chorus of people saying Fire Hackett and maybe even Fire Saleh. Although Saleh still has the benefit of the doubt.
What am I missing. The only time you have a kick return is beginning of the half or you get scored on? So you are saying the opposing team is going to score 75 more times this year?
Just got finished watching cohen tape, and it’s pretty darn good. He’s got some serious sparkle to his game. Gibson is on the hot seat for real. I could tell Gibson wasn’t giving it his all returning kicks at the end of the season. This dude does it effortlessly!
Breece Hall led all RBs in receptions because that was literally the only way to get him past the defensive line. Handoffs went nowhere. I'm excited to see him run the ball again -- iirc, that's where his chunk plays come from. He's still not a prototypical receiving back, because there's always that half second between when he catches the ball, then figures out where the interference is. When he actually runs the ball, he]s so much more instinctive.
I think Special Teams is going to be a big factor on Ws and Ls around the league this year. I'm glad to see our staff seemingly ahead of the curve in regards to investing in Special Teams.
Neat. I'm a Charlottean transplant to New York. Ah, I don't know what the hell was going on, I had a tooth and bunch of memories of sleeping in the backseat of the car.
Lazard was a undrafted FA who unfortunately Rodgers made look decent in 2022. He was never anything special. I understood the signing of him for some familiarity for Rodgers but man at that price was always head scratching. GB cut him for Sheppard and Jacksonville also cut him before Lazard made it in GBs practice squad. He already over achieved making a actual roster but to rely on him in actual big games is not a good formula (especially Playoffs watch San Francisco and Tampas games). .
Fear of getting hit is the biggest reason most speedsters don’t pan out and especially if they don’t produce in college that’s extra fear = no bueno NFL
Harrell's pro day at pro day of 4.19 was on hard time. Official time was 4.24. Pro days are traditionally not as accurate as combine. I heard his time was 4.29. He has elite speed.
It is in the teams beat interest, that Lazzard has a great camp. Either we keep him as a integral part of the offense this year or other needy teams may see some value and trade for and maybe over pay for him.
I’m beginning to get the feeling we should rename the team to the NY Rehab Center- we are risking a lot on all these injured players not a very safe bet!
Just another confusing signing by the Jets. Why waste draft picks every year, and two this year on RBs, if you are just going to go out and sign a veteran every year too?
Exactly! It’s Douglas again shopping at the dollar store hoping he found something worth 100 dollars. The guy just can’t stop himself from shopping at goodwill
We all know you love him but If you take out a 7-9 season in 2019 where he did not join the team until June and therefore did not run the draft or free agency, Douglas is 20-47 in four full seasons. That’s a win percentage of .299. So, as far as your question. Draft picks on Perine, Micheal Carter and Izzy….how did that shopping go? Tevin Coleman or Gore. That work well? In case you don’t recall that far back then how did Cook work out last year? How about that great snag from the Jags when we got James Robinson? Let’s not even begin the bargain shopping at WR and those 2nd round wonders in Mims and Moore. Or that great move of replacing Robby Anderson with Breshard Perrimen. Jamison Crowder was awesome and when he does spend money it’s on Corey Davis. Yup….i guess the LOL is on me. SMH
Love this for Cohen as a person! This dude has had an extremely rough life and reading about his brothers was heart-wrenching, glad to see him back on a roster after his freak achilles tear during a workout
Receiver is one of the positions that I don’t worry too much about a player coming in and making a substantial impact year 1. Not to say he’s going to be Garrett Wilson and be 1000 yard guy from y1 but certainly involved heavily enough in the offence and cementing himself as a staple.
I don’t Lazard would be in the league if it weren’t for Rodgers, and Adams probably would have been a bust 2 without Rodgers. Morale of the story Rodger makes peoples careers!! I think Corley will be a star simply because of Rodgers.
I think the reason a lot of fans are down on WMD is because they felt like Huff was better than him and the Jets should have kept Huff and used the pick on a bigger need. I feel like Jets fans will compare Huff and WMD for the rest of their careers. I'm not sure long term how it'll play out but last year I think Huff was the better player of the two. He played the run better and was effective as a spy against mobile QBs. I hope WMD has the first to second year improvement that JJ had.
@BJF Debo Had 15 Bench Press reps, Derrick Henry 22 reps. Corley had 27 reps. That is FREAK strength for the NFL. Corley is stronger than the NFL LB's, look at the average Reps for LB's. The YAC ability Will Translate to the NFL simply because he is significantly Stronger than the would be tacklers
I loved Corley every since I saw him featured in Steve Smith's pod. Then I started to see his name mentioned in other places. I thought he'd be a 2nd round guy and figured there was no way he'd fall to the Jets in the 3rd. I was thrilled to see JD move up to get him. I think he's a perfect fit and will definitely add a different dimension to the offense.
He had more than his share of "wait, that's not a concept" moments. Diva wide receivers are an NFL cliche, but if a guy won't run a clearance route, the shoe fits.
@@TheBuffaloJetFan come on man! We are talking about here, songs?! What’s a “hit”? Very subjective term, my friend. How about “capable #2 wide receiver,” of which he is. We treated Elijah like he was the problem. Imagine Wilson being your starting QB for two seasons and your targets decrease by more than 40% from season to season. We gave Wilson too much rope and we hung ourselves with it.
