We can’t have it both ways. Zach Wilson is either the worst QB in the last 3 seasons or not. Winning 7 games with that QB and the most injured offensive line in NFL history is a miracle.
We won those 7 games with the worst offense in NFL history. Jets won bc of d and special teams.. that the offense was that bad says a lot about Hackett.
@@TheBuffaloJetFan Agree totally. The problem with the Jets is there is so much wrong it is hard to pin blame, it is why we have the Zach apologists, the Saleh excuse makers etc. Excuses are one of the reasons the jets have been mediocre most of their existence.
About the "without their guy" thing, a great example is Bill Bellichik. 20 years with Tom, he has a dynasty with 6 rings and tons of AFC title game wins/appearances and division win almost every year. After Tom left, 7-9 with Cam, 10-7, 8-9, 4-13 in 3 seasons with Mac/Zappe
Brady without belicik wouldn't have the record he did either,he wouldn't have the 6 Superbowls, the x division titles, etc. Brady is a great QB but he wasn't the whole picture.
Thanks for the update. You're always on top of suff. 🤜🤛🗽This news shouldn't have gotten out to us. That just isn't good for morale. The team should know better. JMO
It’s deeper than just play calling.. Being the offensive coordinator entails that a coach understands how to utilize player personal, how to identity mismatches on opposing teams defenses, how to get the most/enhance players talents and minimize their weaknesses etc. The least of my worries is him calling plays. Ironically, the play that got Rodgers injured was a play Hackett called and Rodgers didn’t like it but ran it anyway
@@tmozzz A guy that bagged my groceries today seemed to know alot about NFL offenses, let's give him a call. I bet he could run an offense that is better than what we've seen out of the Jets for what seems like 15 years.
I’m so incredibly thankful you mentioned the overreaction to how Saleh is. Solid evidence no coach goes to the playoffs without their starting quarterback. Great job
Cleveland made playoffs w a guy they signed off the street, other teams have made playoffs with backups. Miami went undefeated with a backup quarterback starting 8 of their games.
Rodgers literally cures all... if hes in there. The narratives around Hackett and Saleh change completely. Hes 4th all time in career win %. If hes healthy and active, last years jets are no less than an 11 win team. With the talent theyve added, theyre looking at 13 wins at least if they can keep AR healthy.
Do you think other teams just don’t show up to play the Jets??? I love it how this fan base says “if Rodgers does not get hurt the Jets…… Here’s the reality and some of you just have to accept the truth. The packers did not want him. They had a great season without him. His last year playing for them was bad and don’t give me the thumb excuse. Douglas and anyone that watches AR knows his kryptonite is a pass rush. The packers always had a good offensive line. The jets had one of the worst. Douglas did nothing to improve it. Additionally, he kept ZW as the back up thinking that someone how AR have a shit to mentor him. In order to get AR here the jets had to hire a recently fired HC as OC. Had to give contacts to Boyle, Cobb and Lazard. Now we have a 40 year old QB coming off ACL. His LT and RT are in their 30’s and one has not played a full season since 2016. The best guard on the team is brittle and has not played in basically 2 years. There is no number 2 receiver as that person is also coming off ACL. Jets don’t have an adequate back up RB. The best players on the team most weeks was the FG and Punter. What is false on what I just wrote?
A large part of our 10 losses were by one score. Considering we went 8 weeks without a passing touchdown that starts making sense huh? @@RealisticJetsFan
@@chrisreynolds6143 CHOO CHOO!!!! All aboard the jet fans excuse train!!! The browns lost their starting QB and arguably the top RB in the game. The got to the playoffs with JOE FLACCO!!! stop the nonsense! We all want the same thing from this team but your narrative is just ridiculous. I have to hear how Tua sucks because he can’t win if it’s cold. Shit! I’ll take a qb who can’t win when it’s cold for just one playoff game. 13 years! They own the damn record in the 4 major sports for missing the post season. I’d even take a meaningful November game. The reality is that the Jets season is usually over by week 8 and I’m sick of it.
@@chrisreynolds6143 you got all the excuses down, don’t you. The jets compete against 15 other teams. 7 teams make the playoffs. The Jets are never one of those 7.
Jets management looking twice inept today. 1st afraid to pull the trigger on firing Hackett. 2nd is doing nothing knowing that this would eventually come out.
WE HAVE to get a professional offensive coordinator , hackett is great .. said no one ever ... ridiculous we have to keep him because he is rodger's water boy .. let's upgrade please ..
I think the simple truth is no respectable coach in the league believes in Robert Saleh and wants to coach under him while also being forced to keep Hackett around. Otherwise, with Breece, Garrett, and all the young OL, people would find this job way more attractive.
That’s a bit of a reach. Future Hall of Fame QB picked Saleh to coach him in his final years, the guy has put up a consistently dominant defense. I think this is more Hackett wasn’t leaving and no one wanted to share the role
@@taylorsterling9932 Robert Saleh is on the hot seat... this coach they were seeking out would be coming in to play second fiddle to Rodgers while having to deal with Hackett and also a HC who could possibly be fired mid season or after the season if this goes downhill... there aren't any respectable coaches taking that job. OP is correct.
I'm not sure it's a fair comparison. The other teams with backups you mentioned didn't have defenses as talented as ours. We just needed to be competent on offense and we couldn't get it done.
Great perspective on the Stefanski / Saleh comparison...says a lot. 13 different combinations up front with or without your starting QB is gonna sink any team... If that reality makes me a Saleh apologist - then I'm a Saleh apologist.
Yes you are. Saleh's record is dismal, and making excuses for a .337 record says he isn't good. That Jets had great defense and one of the worst offenses on NFL history is on him,so was not having a good backup bc he wanted to coddle Zach Wilson. Jets never had competition for Wilson, that was on him
Hey, BJF, look up the 72 dolphins, they had a backup in for 8 games and went undefeated. Jets had the worse offense in nfl history and saleh kept carter and hackett. Cleveland had a harder schedule, they lost hunt, they lost starting OL players. Jets had better defense than cleveland, better special teams snd their O was way better than jets w a qb signed off the street. Stefansky had callahan as his ol coach, saleh had and kept carter.
Hackett is someone i think saleh didn't even want. And it was more of someone that rodgers wanted. People were saying lafleur was our worse OC. Sorry but that is far from the truth at this point. XD
Remember when we hired Gase. Who hires someone for the same exact job that he just got fired from. All we heard was Manning was a fan. Seem familiar? Aaron Rodgers is the best QB I have ever seen in person. That said, he’s a very unique personality and his BS is not gonna work in NY. Try telling this fan base to relax after we were forced to hire your OC, back up QB and two WR’s that are done just to appease you. I don’t think this AR experiment will work and while he goes off to the sunset with his millions and Saleh and Douglas go away with their millions we will all be here waiting again for someone to fix the team
@@markhogquist2000 If Hackett is play calling he better. Hackett is absolute trash. One of the reasons the jets didn't draft bowers is hackett is too stupid to use te's.
Bienemy is no savior. The word out of Washington was that he was not impressive, especially with player relations. I can’t see two limited guys like Hacket and Bienemy working together giving us a better result.
Jake assman just blocked me for asking what can stop the Jets this season, and my answer is the OC, HC, OL coach the owner, the turf, and injuries. Hes pathetic. The fact that even the Jets realize that he's going to cost the team should tell you all the Jets will not make the play offs, despite the clear talent and rsoter.
It sucks getting blocked anywhere. It’s so immature and surprised Jake does that. Secondly, you’re absolutely right. The Jets are out coached literally every week. It’s ok to be overly optimistic but the jets will be playing other teams. Those teams also have good players.
Them together is unstoppable. I imagine Rodgers w/ Hackett and some running schemes focused on breece will be above average. They mirror the 9ers in an odd way
I love the Jets, but admittedly I’m a casual. And even though I don’t have a thorough knowledge of the game, it was obvious that Hacket was…well, a hack! At this point could Rogers even defend him as a coach! And what could he do if The Jets did in fact fire him?
Didn't hacket get hired in January? And didn't aron rogers come out his darkness retreat in February and announce his intentions to play for the jets? I could have that wrong but why do people keep saying aron made the hacket request? He wasn't on the team, apparently wasn't even sure if he was playing. The jets swear they just needed a new oc and hacket was the best option available. So why does everyone keep saying aron got hacket there? Are we just assuming the jets were in contact with aron months before? Why interview carr then? I have Questions!!! Lol
The jets literally had the worse offense in nfl history last year. Hackett literally did nothing to try to adjust after rodgers went down. Cleceland lost hunt, their o line was a mess, they ended up signimg flacco off the street, and made playoffs.
@@TheBuffaloJetFan Better than the jets, and Cleveland was in games a lot better than the jets were. The difference was Saleh took a mulligan on the season by having Wilson at 2 , think he didn't want to hurt Zach's feelings, it was his mo all 3 years.
This isn't good news... God bless! Jesus Christ is King and saves and is the way! Psalms 62 - "Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken." Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Hackett is just as bad as his father when he called plays for us back in the days dude is beyond clueless like how the f he has a job oh my bad Arod a good coordinator will make it work regardless who is at QB
