If the police did what they were supposed to do then he would not be able to make a claim it's that simple. The fact the police aren't doing there jobs properly is costing the tax payer.

As for the security numpties, seeing fools like them, just show what a scam and a money making scheme the Security Industry Authority is. The SIA are just as rediculous as the police. You should be offered a written record or a receipt at the time of the stop and search. The record is important if you want to complain about the search later.
Interesting I spent half an hour there recently looking at and filming all of their cars, but nobody searched me. If that was grounds for a search, I’d have been searched too. Shows it’s just rogue officers doing whatever they like.
I Love your work, TLA. On this one, I don't think you're going to win a lawsuit. Section 1 of PACE is too broad in its powers and I just don't think these goons will have to pay for their 'reasonable suspicion'. Now, the fact they lied about a member of public being concerned might tip the balance in your favor as they were clearly embellishing the cause for suspicion, but PACE 1 is just too easy for them to utilize.
do the police actualy do any work because all you see on these videos are police officers in the police station not actualy out on the streets. waste of tax payers money sat around doing not a lot apart from pretending to do police work with very little or no knowledge of the law pathetic dont forget to sue them, i bet that little old lady knows more about the law than them
This is starting to get very embarrassing now for the force. How on earth have they not got the memos yet from higher up about leaving auditors alone. That money should come out of them personally not the taxpayer.
