LeroyDiesel has been in business since 2007. Owned by Leroy who was introduced to the 6.2 diesel while in the US MARINE CORPS in 1984. He has been involved with the 6.2 and 6.5 turbo diesels ever since.
We started with one product and the business took off from there. Specializing in custom parts and kits to support mainly the 6.5 turbo diesel powered 1992-2002 trucks, Suburbans, Vans and Hummer/Humvee vehicles.
I'm trying something similar but with the AmsOil dual filter w/bypass. However I'm having bit of a problem of where to mount it. Their instructions say it shouldn't have more than four feet of line to/from the block and there just isn't a good place within that distance to mount it well. It seems to me that mounting under the door on the frame rail could cause problems with priming when changing filters (the lines thus draining) since there would be a lot of oil line to fill before it builds pressure. Unless, of course, one prefills the entire system with every filter change, which would be a big hassle. What are your thoughts? With your dual filter set up, how long does it take to prime everything on start-up? Would you be willing to show where you tend to mount it?
Just prefill the oil filters if you are worried. Mine mount close to the lift pump, I don't have a picture as on my truck that space is taken by an oil cooler.
Do you know someone in Los Angeles county California who can do a decent job is installing your harmonic balancer and pulley for my 6.5 L 1998 GMC? Thanks
Good to talk to you on the phone earlier. I don't know any mechanic in your area but this is a simple job with the proper tool which is available on my website. Most people could do this on their own. Annie mechanic with the proper tool can do this job also
RU-vid did me that exact way years ago and it made me made especially when RU-vid refused to pay me my money that my videos made. Regardless if you’re making money or not I sure enjoy your videos.
Yeah almost ordered that but my mechanic can't figure out how to mount my starter after threads stripped so now I'm looking for the plate adapter for manual.
Yeah I'm probably going to be buying one from you soon as you get that figured out although I got to make sure that's the transmission that I have and I took my truck in in mid May and I just got it back from the shop for the fourth time and they said now that they can't do the starter for it was all what we need part so we'll this and that and the other anyway long story short they can't do it and I like the idea of this more anyway cuz even just the pet shop on a starter not going to last forever so this plate seems a lot more worthwhile but I do have a manual so I still got to figure out what transmission I have in there that'll have to wait till my lift is open to be used for a while that way the truck can just sit there but I'll be contacting you as soon as I get things figured out.
@@jerrydlaughrin2880 thank you but it's not totally a new idea engines have run on natural gas for a long time I just got it to work on this engine. The needle valve I believe is the key
@@leroydiesel5647 I know that Leroy I was referring to the electrical box idea to hide your gas hook up there at your chimney. That’s what I was referring to at the side of your house. Like my house here in Albuquerque I have a gas line as well and I thought about putting a big generator in the backyard to hook up to the electrical panel and hook it to the natural gas line and that’s a great idea. That’s what I was referring to the electrical box hook up like you did, perfect they sell generators that run on natural gas as well. And also some that run on Diesel and natural gas just switch them back-and-forth
We have HVO100 here in Bavaria. It is synthetic Diesel made from waste vegetable oil. It has insane Cetane numbers and produces less than half the amount of soot. I am running a fairly modern tractor engine (with DEF) with this fuel and I love it. We are working inside a riding hall and despite the bad ventilation, there is no noticeable effect from the emissions. I am never going back to the old diesels and the regular fuel.
I don't really have any opinion of it as I've never used it. The only two additives I would use are the ones in the video. I will see if I can dig up that test report I saw it's been a few years ago so don't hold your breath
I also used to run transmission fluid or 2-stroke oil until testing proved neither add lubricity to the fuel. That's when I started using only the two choices in the video. Thanks for posting
It is only used by the pump Builder when they have it on their test bench. It's a way to calibrate the pump. The most important thing is you just need to run one so the ECM doesn't possibly code
I don’t know what’s worse your hurricanes or those big earthquakes we get in California either way there’s always a lot of damage done by these things. Since I moved to Albuquerque New Mexico, we get a lot of rain lotta snow, but I don’t get the earthquakes I used to get in California. I miss those anyway I hope you’re doing OK. I hope your house didn’t get damaged in your pick up and all your cars survived the hurricane, have fun Leroy and be careful driving around avoid those powerlines never know which ones hot or which ones cold be careful and have fun.
I've been in earthquakes in Japan and California. I will take the earthquake as long as there are no structures falling on me. Hurricanes suck because it knocks out everything infrastructure wise and it was 108° index today without air conditioning. Anyway I'm hoping to have power later this evening or maybe tomorrow we're having another lightning storm here so the workers probably had to delay what they were doing in the video.
might be best to shoot me an email and make a request for one. I do have them in stock. I am still without power or internet from the hurricane that came through on Monday so I may be slow to reply but I will reply and get back with you as soon as power is back up again

Love hate with the 6.5’s the GM production cast blocks were the most trash ahh diesels I’ve ever seen would never buy another 6.5 unless it was a P400 block between you and Quadstar I spent around 20k in two 6.5 builds and both failed on me within 6 months being fully built and forged. But I must say they’re the most unique diesels out imo.
As the description in the video says if you are installing my starter relocation kit you will need to put in longer dowel pins. Video shows another way to remove the short ones
