I am homeless and cook allot of my meals over a fire but allot of place want let me do that cause it's not contained. I wish I could afford the 8 panel system it would be a life saver for my family
* I'm glad you _clarified_ that matter 😋 Not just fried eggs, but deep fried eggs, lol 👨🍳🥚🍳 I like it 👍 Believe me when I say this, but I have tried to batter, coat and deep fry a frozen stick of butter with unexpected results. I❤Deep Fried everything 🤤❤ Also, I agree with another commenter that you should never put that rubber gasketed lid on the hot Trangia.
Love your videos. You made a comment about the gap in the box pot lid. What I did with mine, was to use lead-free solder. It holds water and it’s easy to clean. Also, thanks for the parchment folding tutorial- excellent!
Looks awesome!!! I will be getting that new cast iron cooking system!! Can't wait to see what I can do with it!! Much love Michigander here! Semper fidelis to my brothers
Well you need to watch a few videos on season cast iron you need to stop everybody needs to stop using grapeseed oil because it's crap the polymerization Point his lousy it's got too high of a smoke point why don't you try switching to regular Crisco or vegetable oil or canola oil stop listening to all the Yahoo's listen to people that have been around since the 40s and 50s add to a little more education on polymerization
Hi, thanks for this very useful video. I wanted to warn you that in the drawings with the metric system, the measurements of the Box-pot with stone and the one without Stone are reversed. Thank you ☺️
Love everything Firebox, unfortunately cast iron is too heavy for me to handle since I have osteoarthritis my wrists and thumb can’t handle heavy things. There’s another company making something similar but much more expensive and doesn’t have all the features this one does, is smaller and not based in USA, I’m sure the quality is probably not as good as Firebox.
Wow, thanks a million! I have all of these except for the bread pan. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 New sub here, love your videos with so much detail and my favorite equipment, love Firebox, I have the 5” and nano before they came out with the titanium, the Scout, the remote canister insert, billy pot, cake insert, pans and I’m waiting to receive the box pot. Hahaha my paycheck should just go directly to Steve. No regrets though outstanding equipment that’ll most likely last me a lifetime.
My mistake then is that I always have the sun to my right shoulder when I put it together. Now I know to have the long sides running NE to SE all will be much clearer. Fortunately the FB nano Ti that I use most, doesn’t have an orientation problem built in. Extremely important! Thanks.
I’m glad you said you’re going to lower the heat next time. I was thinking the same thing about cooking tamagoyaki. While it does not have a curved end.. it works fine.
Bro, after seeing Steve's burnt-bottoms & tops Billy Pot breads for years now, I couldn't help but recommend to him in those videos about the glorious benefits of using parchment paper in direct fire-contact cooking, such as the Firebox Stove. I've used it for decades. Unsure he ever took my advice, I see he recently used pp in his 5-way cast iron bread with phenomenal success 🍞 ..now if only he'd take my advice and slather some serious butter in the pans when he's baking his Pillsbury cinnamon rolls on the Firebox, lol!
Or, talking to yourself will make them all leave the area! Great day, even with the rain. Holding a 6’ graphite pole in a thunderstorm while standing in water - what could possibly go wrong? 😂
Such a great day even with the rain falling! The fish looks delicious! What is that thing in the box? Shredded potatoes? We dont have that over here. Ive seen Steve use that too. Thanks for sharing this with us. I cant wait to get out and fish again. The snow is melting so slow here. I still have around 60 cm on my grass. At last its april..soon the castirons is being shipped out :)
Good video, parchment paper is a must if you have a thin guage stainless steel pan & even for the aluminium pan of Trangia 27 or 25 series cook sets. Thank you for sharing👍
