I appreciate this honest story from Joel. Most of us have all played up in different ways, unfortunately someone gets caught eventually. He wasn't hurting anyone, a judgement error. Helluva yarn!! All the best to him for the future, plenty of time to find success in other areas.
Beauden is a specimen. I had to slow down my car when he was crossing the road with his dogs in Remuera couple of months ago. I was shocked by how built he is! Yet, he's super fit and fast!
Great to hear his story and also the reality of life in Japan. Completely different legal system here and one of my biggest fears here is getting pulled in for questioning by PC Plod-san and being held for days or weeks whether you are innocent or guilty, it's just how it is here. More overseas players based in J land need to hear his story. Great stuff as usual. 🎉🎉
He is very fast. Some people is faster on the rugbyfield..i guess he is one. But..having speed doesnt make you gr8..he just know when and where to put on the burners.
@@whataladpodcast what's even funnier is one of my brothers lives 10 mins down the Surf Highway from the family. If the world saw the town where the "Royal Residence" is located, they'd be blown away I reckon!
Both Bryn Hall & Ash Dixon probably _should_ have been ABs as they were easily in the top 3 playing in NZ for their positions for decent periods; but because of the incumbents ahead of them and the desire to pick a younger player for development they just kept missing out. Real shame, legends the two of them!
Is Bryn the Marty Holah of half backs? Had some absolute beasts in front of him. Had he been selected, no doubt he would have gone on to be a very, very good AB.
Fathers, (and their mates) the unsung heroes, so important in a boys life. My Dads name was Brin and named my dog Brin after he died too lol!! Cool to here this Bryns story, his nice words about his girl and his humourous relaxed side. What a lad, great pod as per 🙂
One of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to, what a lad. What a lovely human being you are Shiray. It was so honest, open and full of drama. Koia kei a koe Shiray. I couldn’t stop listening, even while I was doing my mahi. May you continue to live your life just as you are now.
I am a gambling addict, I lost all my wages yesterday which I’ve done every wage packet for more than 15 years. I live in Brighton and my grandad introduced me to gambling on the palace pier. He too was an addict. Guess I was meant to come to this video. I want to stop. It’s destroyed me until this day.
@@whataladpodcast I’m going to do my best to make it do so, I’ve well and truly had enough. Thanks for the video, I found it very helpful, especially as he turned it around after a serious gambling much like mine after 21 years. I’m on 16, so there is hope. And the similarities in our story are in sync, it’s a message for me. Cheers
Good shxt, cheers for the content Brother 🤙🏾.. My go to when I needed to cash up - Dexter The GOAT ☝🏾💯.. Now I'm on J Mac 🙂.. Up The Kiwis, all The Best Dexter 👑
Its so sad to me that Mounga's prime was almost there. I believe if he played one more year for the All Blacks, he would have been at another level again. For many years he was so good but never quite clicked as a great All Black. But he was on the verge of that, but left at the worst time imo. But you do what you have to do. Will is bordering on greatness now already. But he is a special talent.
You were always one of my favourite players and I will miss you at the Olympics ….but all the very best for your recovery… I want to see you playing again in the future 😘
3 circles - gotta give that a nudge - coming from this legend. Love the footage of "that try" 2015, the one with a more soccer-esk-type European commentator, he says..... "---- this is Beauden Barrett, control this, ..and the cup ------------------- is his " So damn cool! there is a saying, coolness can only be observed, never manufactured. ..."The ball just sorta finds you on the try-line" - hmm?, think it's more Skills, Brains & Humble too - what a (very cool) lad!
Hey, I dont want to wind you up, and if you can laugh and let it go, well thats good I guess, it's only money and all that, but this aint right. Ian Miles - you know you owe ----- now its time to pay. Forget the lawyers see a collector, better that anyone else has it than Ian bloody scumbag Miles. This is just so wrong.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jim Tavatavanawai especially the beautiful moment with your Mum. I still haven't worked out how you went from a village in Fiji with no telly - to Burnside Ave in Blenheim looking for a classroom!! Sounds a hard case but must have been quite startling at the time??!! Glad it worked out for you. On-to-it on the sober driving bit and staying off the turps yourself and for being always thankful. 10/10 --- Good luck for the future. Great advice too.
