Thanks Brandon!! Still dealing with my home destruction so when I can get out I'm using my neighbors ramp....But as far as I know the ramp at the campground is open!!😎
Wes. Glad you are ok. Would you share what color you use and retrieval. I have tried several and never catch anything on them. I use other lures with success. Might be a confidence thing. Trout I’m good but never any reds. We had to work for the trout but we got our share of catch and release. I heard you say 808. Is that the black and orange
Thanks Nick!! Well the lure ID is the No.17 808 BG Mirrodine.....Black Back....Gold Center and Reddish Belly.....Red eyes and a single Black dot near the gill plate area.....Just went outside to verify the colors!! Speck fishing has really been on the down and out the last few years.....It seems the Refuge is just not the same anymore.....but where can you go that's not eat up with people
October is my favorite month on the water..... the transition to cooler water usually brings all the critters into the skinny water .....Now's the time to put the hammer down Nick!!
Wes. Thanks. Funny thing is I do real good on trout. Not sure why. What retrieval do you use. I just need to tie one on and use it all day. Like I said probably confidence issue. Thank you. Maybe next video show the way you work the lure. Please stay safe and need anything I’m a few miles away.
Wow! Sorry to see all the damage to your home. It's not easy having to go through all that and starting from scratch again. We'll be praying for you and a quick recovery.
Thanks Icy!! Lots of Insurance Money will help but I lost a lifetime of memories.....Now I get to make some more from the nose bleed section of the pine trees.....LOL!!
Thanks J!! Parsons Bay in front of the shack went almost dry with 70 mph winds.....Now I get to clean up the TREES.....Life is sure interesting sometimes....LOL!!
Good to see you back on the water again Wes . Pretty shots of the early morning in the beginning . Some good catches . Happy to see you out again doing what you love
@@gregtorrey7679 Finished the contents damage estimate along with the house damage estimate from FEMA now....Had 2 contractors out here last week.....I'll be lucky if I can start construction by the first of the year. and finish by the end of 2025!!.....Not going thru this again!!
Thanks Henri!! I feel like today I've bounced back and have gotten my mental toughness back.....I've managed to put myself in position to get going on new construction in the Nose Bleed position possibly by the end of the year.....Sea Ya!!
I'm sorry for your losses! I'm local to you. We've meet on the water a couple times before. I'm a home designer and have a bunch of FEMA approved homes in Hernando Beach and Weeki Wachee. I'd love to help you design your new home.
Thanks Grover!! I'm sticking with the same foot print and with my FEMA adjuster inspection yesterday and 2 local contractors giving me bids I might be able to start construction by the end of the year!!
Wes, so very sorry about your losses. Glad you are safe. Happy to hear you're staying, and getting higher. You'll get through this and will be back to fishing, granted it may take awhile, but you'll get back. 🍻
Greetings Wes. Sorry to see the damage and basically loss of your home from hurricane Helene and also to hear about the terrible destruction and loss of life in other parts of Florida and other states. Hope thing work out with the insurance and building of a new home.
Thanks Dave!! The last 5 days have been a reel adventure but I'm getting a lot closer to collecting enough money to start build a new stilt hopefully in a few months!!
Thanks Matt!! As bad as this storm was the bright side is I've had the FEMA adjuster for Wright Flood here to do my inspection.....Had 2 contractors get the ball rolling on a new stilt and completed the clean up today.....I've had my own little hurricane and the worst has blown down the road!!
I'm really sorry, Wes. As a property adjuster I look at stuff like this every day. I worked for a time doing Hurricane Sandy relief and calculating the cost of lifting homes higher to avoid damages. Unfortunately, this type of thing is going to be come more and more frequent. If I can help answer some questions, feel free to hit me up.
Thanks Dug.....I remember you mentioning that....I had FEMA and 2 contractors out yesterday so I'm rebuilding to code off the ground 16' with the same footprint.....I'm doing a contents inventory today and tomorrow I've got a crew getting rid of all the stuff and the bulldozer isn't far off.....LOL!!
@@WesLovelace Good luck. Remember, it 's a process and that takes time. Document, document, document. You can never have enough photos. Brand names and serial numbers if possible. I know it sounds counter intuitive but adjusters want things as easy as possible. Make it as easy for them to pay as you can. That takes time and patience.
@@DpuckFishingandOutdoors I'm going back this morning to complete the contents with pics and an inventory.....I've got 50 thousand in contents coverage so I'm documenting on paper and video.....Thanks for the info Dug!!😎
Sad to see the shack got wreaked. If you need a helping hand, give me a shout. May God put His healing hands on you and your family during this difficult time.
Thanks Lee!! The house is history....I might have it torn down here shortly and rebuild the original footprint 16 ft. high.....I had 2 contractors and FEMA out yesterday so I've gained a lot of ground.....Thanks for offering.....By tomorrow with the crew that's coming the shack should be clean!!
I hope things work out. With the frequency of storms, you need to be on stilts. A friend of mine lives up the road on Fishman Ave and he barely missed it. I knew you had to have gotten hit hard.
Thanks Thomas!! Had FEMA and 2 contractors here yesterday and Demo starts tomorrow.....Looks like insurance will cover the cost so I've made a lot of progress in the last week!!
Hey man, you have been on my mind and in my thoughts. Didn’t really know how to contact you to let you or if you wanted to even be contacted to let you know that if there is something I can help you with to just say the word!
I've got the 4 bladder if you want it....Had the adjuster and 2 contractors out yesterday the prop is in the cleaning table sink...I'm in Bayport on 550 at 4398 Cortez....If I'm not there walk back and get it.....I'll be out there today and tomorrow doing content inventory and removal!!
@@WesLovelaceThanks but I got a 4 blade a few months ago. If your little boat didn’t make it I could swing by or meet up at the ramp when it opens up and we could go and scare some fish if you want. Again let me know if I can help.
@@TimeOnTheWaterFishing Boats are fine.....I'm got a crew pulling all the furniture out of the house tomorrow so I can get on with the new build in the future
@@WesLovelaceyea they are all closed for the time being. Glad your boats are ok. Didn’t know that place was a USMC SF place during WWll. Hate this happened!
LSJ.....Thanks!! I'm proactive with FEMA and 2 contractors here yesterday and demo starts tomorrow.....I'm doing contents documentation today so the train has left the station and I ight be in my new house in the nose bleed section in about a year!!
@@WesLovelace Very good news. Make sure the designers don't do anything that would preclude an elevator. I live in a tri-level house here in Pinellas. There's not one floor that has everything on it, so stairs are everywhere. I have a family member visiting with us who is undergoing cancer treatments here in Florida. Very difficult when everything involves stairs.
Thanks Wayn!! I've already got the ball rolling ....The insurance should cover the new construction and contents....It's just going to take about the year!!
@@WaynJul Right now the house is empty and the FEMA adjuster finished his inspection!! We removed all the damaged material and it was hauled away yesterday.....I'm trying to move what little is left of the furnishings to a storage facility.....If the current path confirms this thing will come up near Tampa Bay and we'd be on offshore wind side.....If not we could get a direct hit but considering the house is already done anymore damage doesn't matter.....It's wait and see!!😎
Thanks Kerry!! Back to the drawing board and 16 feet off the ground.....Had FEMA and 2 contractors out here yesterday.....I've got the train rolling out the station!!
Thanks J !! I'm already a jump ahead.....FEMA and 2 contractors yesterday.....Insurance will cover the new home it looks like.....So I'll be living with the squirrels in the tree tops......LOL!!
Dear Wes, oh my good lord. I remember the other times you flooded out. This was the worst storm of all. The devastation it caused is heartbreaking. I cried as I was watching the news. Heartbreaking. Please take care of yourself. I will say prayers for you. God bless. 🙏
Thanks Judy!! Getting ready to start from scratch.....but this is the last time because I'm building 16 feet off the ground in the nose bleed section....LOL!!
Thanks RDF!! I've managed to dodge the bullet 17 times.....My luck finally ran out.....But I will rebuild back better and in the top of the trees.....LOL!!
I'm sorry that your Bayport Fishin' Shack got destroyed. I bet you have a lot of memories there. I hope you can salvage the antique furniture, they looked like really nice pieces. It sounds like you will be able to rebuild. I look forward to seeing the comeback of the Fishin' Shack.
Thanks Rande!! The trials of living on Coastal Florida and in the last few years seems like the storms have had more frequent and had more intensity.....Oh well that's why I pay BIG BUCKS for insurance......LOL!!
Thanks John!! I'm not down for long.....The FEA adjuster is here this afternoon and I've spoken to 2 contractors......I'll just keep plugging along......A little down but not out!!
Thanks Vincent!! I seem to thrive on adversity and I'll kick this one in the butt and be back on the water shortly just with a different roof over my head......LOL!!
I was worried about how you were doing Wes . This really breaks my heart . Puts Everything in perspective for sure. We had it bad here too - much worse than we even expected but losing power for a few days and having heavy yard cleanup is a drop in the bucket compared to losing everything and having to start over . I’ll be praying for you . I don’t know what to do or say but I can try and help if you need cleanup help or anything else I can do
Thanks Ryan!! I always knew this might happen but I'm back on my feet and I'll get thru this.....I'll definitely will be building back better for the future!!
Thanks Victor!! The dirt would be the last water front place out here......The FEMA adjuster will be here this afternoon.....For me it's onward and upward.....I just need to be on the water and will be as soon as all the Stuff gets straight!!
Thanks Marc!! Yep this is when everything becomes a toss up... do I go or stay.....I don't need the money even if I wanted to sell.....The need to be on the water is the driving factor.....Ses ya!!
