Recently I got a new PC and managed to launch TS3, I love this game so much. I decided to limit the content I use at a time, to discover everything slowly. I came up with an idea to add 1 pack (chronological order of release) when I start another generation (and complete the LTW from the previous one). I took different aproach to building the house, I gradually add rooms and connect them together. I got inspired by the game "What remains of Edith Finch", so all sims have a dedicated room or decorations. After the sim's death their room is sealed away. Currently I'm on Ambitions and soon I will add Generations, as the grandkids of my founder sim grow up. I'm having a blast and I love the "house" that is always in progress. Discovering new things gradually and taking your time is very important in my opinion. Coming back to this game was the best decision I could make. I love TS3 and TS2!
I love the sims 4, I find it a shame people don’t enjoy it but I think the constant criticisms from people who aren’t really the target audience takes away from how many of us love it. I like LGR, he’s funny, but the game isn’t what he wants so it’s never going to please him at this point. Sims isn’t targeting middle age male gamers (not that there’s anything wrong with them playing.)
Thanks for sharing, I do the same always of the grid and simple living, no selling through inventory and so on. Love that. Use only the possibilities of the world I'm playing in. For Example Chestnutridge only use nectarmaking or these horsethingy to make money😂, no fishing or digging. 🖤🖤🖤 Love rtr so much.🙈 Playing the heir to ruins challenge with a teenager going to school atm and have so much fun.
Ah only trying to use the features of a certain world / pack to make money is such a good idea too! I tried this in a video a little while back, for Sims 3 Pets!! Nice! I just googled that challenge and it sounds like so much fun, good luck with it! :)

In Sims 4, I've made over 300k on one bottle of aged vitality nectar (while living in the smallest City Living apartment, 1313 21 Chic Street). In Sims 3, I used to have spreadsheets keeping track of good recipes. I think the skill challenge is a mixed bag. The reward for making 200 bottles is an extra bottle per batch, right when a sim will not want to make nectar ever again. So the question is how valuable is the flexibility of sims 3 combos, especially given the lack of guidance. I think for the casual way most people play, Sims 4 is clearly better. Sims 3 is really good in its own way, but they didn't fully commit to it. If they want to make a skill that complex in a game like this, it has to be more accessible to people who aren't nerds with spreadsheets or who decompile the code. Most simmers aren't that person.
Wow 300k on one bottle?! That’s wild - I definitely need to do some more testing with the skill in both games over time to form a fuller comparison. Also - such a fair point about the value of flexibility to different players: I guess I’m a bit of a spreadsheet nerd like you 🙈 but the sims 4 generally seems to be appealing to the more casual ‘little but often’ players. I’ll definitely be sure to take considerations like that into my comparisons in the future!
@@YasminsCorner It was finely aged and sold at a 300% markup. I was trying to make $1m with the fewest bottles. It looks like 3 bottles is the min. Sims 3 has really good structure to it. We first go to France. It's the only place to get the equipment and the rare grapes. I like the effort it takes. But when it comes to making those amazing nectars, they're impossible to figure out in one lifetime, so we google. Yes, experimentation is possible in ts3, but it's not advisable. To find the best nectars I read the list of ingredients off a website. And that's not very different from reading the ingredient list in game. So the Brew Barons (which I only played as a demo) has a good brewing system. Recipes are preset, and discoverable. But there are tons of different ingredients and dozens upon dozens of recipes. 50 to 100 is better than trillions.
this makes me want to actually try playing world adventures again... i usually keep it (and other packs i dont need) uninstalled so my game runs better lol
Will buying items from the Sims store make me connect with Origin or EA? I assume yes. I only use physical copies to work around using these platforms.
The Sims 3 is by far the best! I downloaded TS2 Ultimate Collection when it was up for free on Origin (luck, I guess) and it lacks the immersion that TS3 open world brings. Plus, having physical copies of TS3 bypasses the need for EA or Origin launcher, which is a huge win!
Ah I’m so jealous! Wish I could have snagged the sims 2 back in the day 🥲 would love to try getting into it one day so I can make better comparisons to it myself 😅
I downloaded literally every single store item including premium items for free from a google doc lol none of the items are worth buying simply due to how easy it is to get them for free
Nothing stays downloaded and I cannot find a solution. The joy I just felt seeing a Sims 3 video in 2024 turned straight to sadness because I can't play it LOL

Ahh no I have felt your pain in the past - I had an issue where I would get an error message any time I tried loading a save in a store world because the game had uninstalled it :( I found this solution on an EA Answers thread called: "The Sims 3 - Saved Games Not Loading After Store Content Download Fix" which seems to clean out all store content, but I have to re-do it every so often. Otherwise, I've seen quite a few folks in the forums mention switching back to Origin if that's still possible. I hope you find a solution!! <3
I just found this channel and it’s so underrated wow. This is a breath of fresh air and your editing style is really well developed for such a small account. Definitely adding this channel to my list of simmers now.
it's weird to me that ts2 & ts4 both have pretty detailed restaurant-running mechanics meanwhile ts3 just got an oven that summons a chef to cook for you and a menu. same thing with all those games' retail store mechanics. being a hands-on business owner in the sims 3 was pretty lame in comparison.
I agree! In a way I think that’s why I have always liked how the sims 4 added game packs as a new form of DLC. The store sets in the sims 3 don’t always have the same level of consistency in terms of the amount of new gameplay they bring 🥲 maybe for my next comparison I’ll have to test a feature that didn’t come via the sims 3 store 😅
@@YasminsCorner if you have horse ranch i'd be curious to see you compare making money from horses! i've been playing with ts4 horses and it feels harder to get rich from it but i can't tell if that's just because i'm focusing on like 5 sims at once in my current household, or if it's actually harder to profit.

@@jx_jusandrecheck tumblr by searching for, “free sims 3 store items,” but if you’re downloading functional items like the restaurant items make sure you get the updated fixes for them or they can be glitchy and not work. You can get the entire sims 3 store catalog for free basically.

@@YasminsCorner I was just as surprised that the Sims 4 won, I wanted so badly for the Sims 3 to win. However, clearly The Sims 4 did better in regards to long-term management of a restaurant, as well as progression. :3 It had a cool system that was decently flushed out.
@holyrandomness5654 Honestly I was feeling quite sure that the sims 4 would come out badly on this one with the reputation which Dine Out has - so was surprised it won too! But maybe I was a little harsh on the sims 3 given then different price points of the two? I’m having a lot of fun with this format though so any suggestions for more comparisons are welcome!☺️

Hello!💖 I believe you should be able to buy store content if you purchased sims 3 via Steam… I’ve checked a few wiki pages and it says that players may have trouble with installing the content depending on the browser they use, though it looks like using Chrome is where players have the best luck! I am currently doing a food-themed island (dream code DA-3903-8839-2376) and I plan to restart it for a dreamy island (cottage/fairy/kingdom core) because nomnomtown isn't exactly a name for a dreamy island but I rly don't want to restart from the beggining.

I agree! I know a good amount of players don’t seem to care much for Get To Work, but I think it’s actually one of my favourite expansions for Sims 4 - I had a lot of fun diving back into it for this video :)

My top 3 expansions for the sims 3 probably have to be: seasons (weather makes the worlds feel so much more alive!), ambitions (I love the skills, active careers, and world of Twinbrook), and world adventures (which adds a couple of new skills, a bunch of new collectibles, and of course the travel worlds which are super fun!) - hope that helps!! :)

There are so much great store content. I have everything from the store, but forget about a lot of it. I never use the venues. This inspired me to go back and use some of these and start a new save. Also, the home lot that you are using is that one from Riverview or did You build that one yourself. I like your setup on the outside.
I can be the same to be honest! I went through a mad phase last year where I downloaded loads of discounted sets using the daily deals spreadsheet - but even then I can forget to visit the lots I have 😅 so the very little house was one I built myself in Appaloosa Plains, the big grey one is a pre-made one in Riverview, and the one in the footage showing off the toddler items is a modified pre-made one in Monte Vista, hope that helps!🥰
