Hi all and welcome to my channel. My name is Michael and I grew up loving the outdoor activities, specially fishing.
I started fishing at a very young age and have caught a lot of trophy fish over the years. Fishing for me is an addiction that I don’t want to ever find a cure for 😀
I've fished most parts of Australia chasing all types of species and I plan on doing it again while capturing it on video to share. I have a list of places to visit so bare with me as I cross them off my list.
This channel will be a mix of land based and offshore fishing. I usually catch and release but I will occasionally take something home for a catch and cook.
Thanks for stopping to have a look! Find me on social media and message me if you need to chit chat FISHING or just need some tips 🤙

@BoltImpact Hey mate, I've just been checking the rules on the NSW DPI site, not sure if they've changed since you made the video, but you can't bait the hooks if you have 6 on a jigging rod. Can only use the artificial lures that come on it. I think you can get bait jigs with 3 hooks if you want to bait them.
Hey mate thanks for the feedback but I know in vic it’s not allowed when I asked at the time in NSW it was a go so not too sure if that’s the same case a few years later or not.
@@BoltImpactAll good. I've never tried it before so I was just looking up the rules to give it a go. Not a criticism, just sharing the information. To be fair it doesn't seem to mention using bait so maybe it's okay - www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/recreational/fishing-rules-and-regs/perm-prohib-saltwater
My Name Bro Tony am so happy glad to see to watch your fishing Life video am us so a fiishe men aw can I get a fiishe rod I loved i love dip lay love you
@@hanoitripper1809 No mate I never put a swivel between leader and braid they are usually tied together with a special knot. It’s better for casting and better working the lure. If you’re finishing with bait it’s not an issue connecting them with a swivel but not for working lures.
Hi mate these rigs come pre made and are pretty cheap. Just google search pre-made bait hooks and you’ll find them. Best to cut small pieces of prawns or bread and put on them. Good luck
The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel ru-vid.comUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
Sorry about the late reply and couldn’t agree more mate. However the weight on the 5500 isn’t too bad but in saying that doesn’t mean I can stand and cast it for 2 hours straight! It does have a solid drag but where I was fishing you really need to pump this fish in.
Can you give me some tip? I have had exactly same situation many times, while i fight with fish, always line snapped as same like you Do you know any idea to avoid that situation?
Hey mate, most snap offs like this can happen at the knot between the leader and the braid and sometimes it can happen as a result of rubbing on rock or on the fishes teeth depending on where the hook is. This one I feel it was a result of too much pressure or I got bitten off.
Hey mate sorry about the late reply. No 150m of 50lb is not enough. Depending on how and where you fish I usually take out my live bait about 100 meters out from land so your only left with 50m if you get a decent run! I think you need at least 200m to be safe
Hey bro do you reckon a Daiwa saltist hyper 7 foot 9 PE 4-6 would be a good live bait outfit in Sydney harbour with a saltist MQ 6000 with 50lb j braid?
Do you have any tips on when to strike when using live baits?Do I strike when my rod is bending or it is already screaming drag?I use J hooks on live yakka
If your using two hooks on a yakka one on the nose and one on the back I would strike when the rod is bending. If it’s one hook I would wait until my drag goes off for a about 2-3 seconds.
Yes I do mate, you can use them which ever way you want I just don’t use them of yellow tails through the nose. On squid I do it the same way as my tuna fishing video on RU-vid and on yakkas I put it through the back.
