Hi, I'm Michele. I have been wearing alternative hair (first toppers and then wigs) since 2007 and am excited to share what I have learned and experienced when it comes to wearing wigs and toppers and dealing with alopecia. The main message I would like to impart is that your future can be bright and you can look and feel beautiful wearing synthetic or human hair wigs. Once you take that leap and decide to give it a try, I don't think you will ever go back to the difficulties of attempting to style thin, sparse hair. What will you do with all the time you will save? I'm looking forward to connecting with you and will try to respond promptly to your questions and comments. You're not alone and wig life rocks!!😀 I'm a wig reviewer for Shirley's Wig Shoppe.💖
Hmm, I don't know why you are seeing that. I checked it and when I look at it I see my photo. Hopefully it's just a glitch. Thanks for letting me know!💖
Some days I itch so much I want to rip my wig off!!! I have about the same amount of hair that you do, maybe a bit less. Nothing seems to work. I wonder if a light powder might work???
Hi Patti, I'm so sorry to hear that you have been uncomfortable in your wig! If you have already tried the solutions I discussed in my video and you have washed your wig (some people are allergic to the silicone coating on the fibers) and your wig is still itchy, I would suggest seeing a doctor. I have heard that some people are allergic to synthetic fibers. This is something you would need to discuss with your doctor. You might need to wear a human hair wig. I hope you find a solution that works for you!💖
What a fantastic thorough job you did with explaining my products (my babies) correctly Michelle! Thank you. I’m touched my your kind comments in the beginning. I constantly strive to solve my own issues with wigs and if a product I need is not available on the market, I try to create it. I figure if it works for me, then it will hopefully help my thousands of wig sisters, so I appreciate you bringing them to light. Thank you for all you do! Amy Gibson
You do such a great job covering so many topics. Glad you decided to address this. Like you, I have a thin layer of bio hair between my scalp & wig cap so that’s not an issue, but at the nape and around my ears are where I feel itching mostly. 💕👩🦳
Thanks for your kind words! I'm so glad to hear that you're enjoying my videos!☺ I hope you find a solution for the itching you are experiencing at the nape and around the ears.💖
🥰Your videos are always so informative! I do have thin/sparse/pixie bio hair. Alopecia. I do have sensitive skin. Use zero dye/perfume laundry soap, avoid perfumed lotion... Agree bamboo cap IS much softer than nylon and helps. I recently experienced itchy neck/nape with a handtied cap 😕 I thought it was due to extreme weather/108 feels like temperature 😳I used clips and or a 'pony' style to get the fibers off of my neck, thinking the heat was making me itch. WELL! I just checked my McQueen and sure enough there is permatease at the nape 🥴WHY it's made like that I don't know. IMHO there is enough fiber at the nape that I can cut off - VERY carefully - those 3 or 4 rows of permatease. I did do a 'test' run and pinned the offending fibers inside the cap ~ no itch!! McQueen is wonderfully comfortable everywhere else. No itch at the lace front or ear tabs. I love the style and have it in 2 colors. I'll cut one first and wear it. If that doesn't solve the issue, I'll use the tape you showed. 🤞the trim solves my itch.
Thanks so much, Sandy!☺ I'm surprised to hear that about a Belle Tress Lux Collection style! You could try smoothing the permatease a little with a hot comb, since McQueen is made with heat friendly synthetic fibers. Keep in mind that Belle Tress recommends a maximum heat of 350℉ on their HF fibers. Be sure to spray each section with water or a heat protectant prior to applying heat. As you probably know, it's normally not a good idea to pluck or trim the permatease because the wefts can then show through. Good luck, I hope you find a solution that works for you!💖
The hairline looks very unnatural and you can tell it’s a wig. You need to pluck out a bunch of hair along this straight edged hairline, and also create some baby hairs with scissors or a razor. It’ll look great then.
Haven doesn't look like that out of the box. Why do you do a video and review a wig you have altered or washed? I understand you get a commission but what you're doing isn't right. I spent so much time trying to make Haven work. At no point did Haven look anything like what you are showing.
Hi Danielle, I'm sorry to hear that you are not happy with the Haven you purchased. I purchased my Haven with my previous employee discount. I did not receive a commission (unless someone used a discount code I was offering for a short period of time through wigs.com). Sometimes, I buy open box/clearance wigs, but this one was new. Just to be clear, I did not lie in my video - I did not wash or alter Haven prior to filming. My integrity is of utmost importance to me. So why did your Haven look so different? Here are 2 possible explanations. One, there are always some variances from style to style. When I buy multiples of the exact same wig, they are never exactly the same. Two, perhaps your head size is different than mine? I have a 22" circumference. If your head is smaller, the wig will appear longer and fit differently. I suggest watching reviews by a reviewer with a head size similar to yours. Wishing you all the best!💖
Thanks Laurie!☺ I think both Verona and Napoli could probably fit a 23" circumference. Also, neither style has a very short nape, which helps. I recommend reading your retailer's return policy before trying it so that you can return it, if necessary.💖
These caps fit on the larger end of average. I have a 22" circumference and both of these caps fit me very comfortably. I did not have the adjusters extended all the way. Hope this helps!💖
“I’ve trimmed this several times, and it’s _still_ too short!” 😂 I don’t know where that line/quote originally comes from, but my dad use to use it (in reference to blankets, etc) to make us kids laugh.
Thanks for your comment, Elizabeth! That would work near the ears but not where the lace meets my hairline, if that makes sense. There's a transition from the lace to my bio hair near the temples that's hard to hide without trimming the lace. I would need to cover that area with fibers. For me, it's easier to blend my bio hair with the wig if I trim the lace first. I do this with my Jon Renau ear-to-ear lace front styles too.💖
Hi Ellie! Normally all I need to do with my lace fronts is to keep them clean and they "melt"/disappear into my skin. Even though you might be able to see it if you look closely, other people rarely notice it. If the lace is visible against your skin, you could try using some face powder to help conceal it. If you still feel that it's too visible, you might want to trim the lace. I don't normally recommend trimming too much because if the lace ends up fraying over time, you want to be able to trim it to remove the fraying portions. Here's a link to my full video showing how I like to trim the lace that sits on the forehead as well, if necessary - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fSYbie-VjD0.html. Hope this helps!💖
Hi Elaine! I received your email. You are first in line for both Santa Monica and Napoli. I will send you a PayPal payment request for both via e-mail shortly. Thanks!
Yes, you can!👍 I love wearing Drive in a ponytail! Here's a link to my full review. I show Drive styled into a ponytail at time stamp - 6:19 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_1OUT3tonzo.html. Hope this helps!💖
I just purchased Leoni in two other colors. Followed your instructions for the face flopping (and added some bangs). Love this color on you and when you pointed out it was similar to mocha cream, I added it to my wish list.
Yay!! I'm so glad to hear that you like your Leoni so much that you ordered two additional colors!🙌 I bet she looks great with bangs! I'm with you, I love having Leoni in my collection!💖
Hi Michele! I'm trying to find your video about the scar tape you use on the wig part but I can't find it and I need to purchase some. Could you please send me the link? Thank you so much! 😊
Hi Rosemary! Sure, here's the link to the AWD Silicone Scar sheets on Amazon - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NV4K6ST/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Also, here's the link to my shorts video where I show how I place the scar tape on the inside of the wig cap - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yTgKC6W1fXU.html.💖
Thanks so much, Vivian!☺ I normally let the fibers cool for about 5 min. after steaming them. Then I quickly touch them with my fingers to make sure they are cool.👍💖
That would work near the ears but not where the lace meets my hairline, if that makes sense. There's a transition from the lace to my bio hair near the temples that is difficult to hide without trimming the lace. I would basically need to cover that area with fibers. I found that it was easier for me to blend my bio hair with the wig if I trimmed the lace first and then used some root powder on my bio hair - at least that was the case with the Jon Renau ear-to-ear lace front styles.👍💖
