How is the airline going to handle the cancellation of passengers from Africa who have not been vaccinated and verified by the airline. The new virulent strain of Monkey Pox is transmitted via touch or touch material such as aircraft seats which have been contaminated. Flights to Europe could be cancelled soon if a pandemic is declared, as previously organized. Will the airline cancel all flights to Africa until such time vaccination programs 8 months can have an effect.? UK and European authorities will insist on all verified vaccination certificates for all passenger coming from Africa. The staff strongly advise cancellation of any flights from the effective countries before it kills staff and kills the brand. This was done before so this is the likely outcome of UK, European, and US governments?
Good old BA failed to impress again. Mediocre food, crap business class layout. Better choices out there. Last time I flew BA, business class, Sydney to London was in 2019. I think the service was a little better then.
British Airways sure does not have a reputation now. A few friends asked me why I was flying with them as the food was bad. I didn't think the food was bad, just not good.
Hey, hey! Welcome back!! I've missed your no-nonsense style of trip-reporting. I reckon you and Dennis Bunnik (who has a similar unpretentious style) are simply the best reviewers from Oz. I won't comment on the others, of which several are somehow regarded as being 'internet famous' 😆. BNE/SYD to SIN is my most frequent route, but I've avoided BA precisely because the configuration is abominable. Another reason is the cost. BA (and QF) often charge close to SQ prices. Sometimes the difference is only $100 in business class. My thinking is: if I'm going to be charged SQ prices by BA (and QF) I might as well fly SQ instead. I'm not saying I won't fly BA. But it would have to be at a discount to compensate for the both the seat itself which is coming on 24 years old, and the terrible configuration. Alternatively, I would also consider flying BA with points (exactly as you did), but I definitely won't pay cash for it. I don't fly QF at all anymore, but I would pick QF over BA in this case. 03:29 The majority of window seats do need to step over their neighbour seated in the aisle of the next row. Being in the last row of the cabin, your seat was one of the exceptions.
I should have watched this video before offloading so many Qantas points for a MH 122 business ticket coming up soon. Not a very favourable review you had there unfortunately.
Hopefully you get better service and food than what I got! My flight was a few years ago at the end of lockdowns so hopefully they have improved but Malyasia Airlines are on my No Fly list!
The algorithm works in mysterious ways m8. Just got off a Malaysian Airlines SIN-KUL flight , looked at the food options, and thought the two choices presented for my front seat flight were not to my liking as well. Good thing I filled myself up at Qantas' lounge :) I appreciate the two meal/drinks services: the welcome drink and the meal.
There are business class and the weight limit for these are 40 kg's, its only availeble on about 4-5 flights a day. Always on A319, never on ATR-72. Price is typically 3 times the amount of the economy ticket. Apart from a bigger seat and premium service on the flight you also get access to the Blue Ribbon Lounge.
No i did not get any refund for the flight they cancelled. When I first lodge the refund request I got an email from them saying someone would contact me within 10 business days. Never heard back, despite sending 10 emails to them. Not 1 reply. Bad service from Malaysia Airlines.
