If anybody needs a similar but cooler option you may also connect the wire to the multifunction control module relay (to pin 5) that gives power when the key is on but also has power for 10 minutes after the key is turned off, so you can listen to music without the key like the original radio and then after 10 minutes it turns off until you turn the ignition back in again
Easy to remove the faux wood stereo surround it just pops off. Same with AC knobs surround. I suggest putting a cloth down to catch the screws as you remove them from around the stereo and ac controls or else they ‘ski jump’ down between the seats! Important note - disconnecting the air bag warning light connector - will trigger an airbag fault light on the dash - so I presume you should disconnect the battery if your gonna remove that connector.
