My neighbor introduced me to BTBAM around 2010, played them for me when we were having a barbecue, dinking some beer, and hanging out. I'm a guitar player (primary instrument) and a drummer. Dustie and Paul play some really cool shit, but Blakes drumming takes it to a whole different level. The way Blake steers the music through different time signatures, constantly pushing and pulling in different directions is awesome. He's hands down one of the most creative metal drummers of the last 20 years.
Between the Buried And Me
8:51 this isn't even a particularly spectacular transition, but I don't know why, it always makes me emotional. BTBAM has a way to compose such incredibly moving chord progressions
The greatest composer's of music in any sub genre of heavy metal in my opinion.Im only just getting my head around this album after listening to it for over 15 years
