Congratulations, for your age you listen to very good music. I notice you mostly listen to UK and US artists. So I invite you to get to know German rock (krautrock), because it's worth a lot. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QFSY_3TSqOs.html
Hi, Sorin! Just curious if you have ever listened to a “newer” band called Greta Van Fleet. They ROCK! And they sound quite Led Zeppelin-esque. They’re not Classic Rock but they definitely have the sound going on!
That's why going out and hunting for records is still the best way to discover music. So much has not been digitized. Love that Lost Nation lp... really solid throughout. My Budgie game is weak, I only own their debut. I've got the UK pressing of JD Blackfoot and I have to say the sleeve image is better than the US image, imho. Just listened to The Moon lp the other day...a pop psych classic. Hope you're well...Nige
100% agree! I wouldn't know half of the music I know without hunting for records. I really need the Budgie debut, that might be my favorite. I really like the U.S cover of J.D Blackfoot tbh, but the U.K cover is really cool. The moon is amazing. Thanks for watching ✌☮
I don't use Spotify or any of the others except for RU-vid, seems like I can always find an album I want to preview before buying on there. Budgie is awesome, I have the 2 you showed, plus a few others, great band. Love Frijid Pink's version of House of the Rising Sun, that whole album is great, as is their second LP, Defrosted, by their third, they had a lineup change and didn't sound like the same band, so I lost interest. Lots of albums I want to check out, Grannie, Road, Truth and Janey, and Gile, Giles and Fripp all sound like they'd be something I'd be into. Cool video Sorin, thanks for sharing.
I'm so stoked when younger collectors score like this 16:30 Although, I had that BOC LP and loved it to death, QC on Columbia LP releases was pretty poor and they frequently had debris on the discs during manufacture, causing skipping. It was a major pissoff and A&M was almost as bad. I would play that disc to see if there are any issues and if there are having it cleaned thoroughly by a professional.
There isn’t a bad Budgie album, just some better than others. I spent a solid two years buying nearly nothing but Budgie albums to have a full collection of original presses. Don’t regret a thing!
@@sorinvinyl1523 very similar on lead guitar.. These bands.. I hear alot if similarity actually Check out frijid pink Sailor.. Its heavy rock 1971. The next year.
Very cool that you made a trip to Noble.. I'm west coast, so that is quite a journey for me. My nephew Toby just moved to the outskirts of Richmond, so if I am ever out east, I will be checking out some record shops ! I'm going on a warehouse dig of 2000 records, today ! The hunt and discovery is one of the best things in life.. Ever ! Nice Grand Funk Railroad 💥
Brutal in that it was one of the most physical digs I've ever been on. Moving 90 lb. boxes back and forth and digging through miles of stuff we don't want. I pulled 85 records, though. Also, the first 3 Skynyrd, The Original Fleetwood Mac, and a lot more. I love these mystery digs, especially because I'm into almost all of the genres 👍
I agree with Truth and Janey as good hard rock but not on Budgie. Saw Budgie live here in Stockholm dont remember the year. Facets by Moondog not on Spotify... Interesting topic....
This is a great topic! I had a similar experience several years ago when I made a playlist from my iTunes library, which was all CDs I owned and put into my iTunes library, and tried to share my playlist. Half the songs were missing because iTunes didn't have them in their store. Budgie is great! I haven't heard of J.D. Blackfoot. I'll check it out... on RU-vid!
I enjoyed making this video. Budgie is amazing. Side 2 of JD Blackfoot is the one to check out. Side one is okay, but side 2 is mind blowing prog psych. Thanks for watching ✌☮
@@sorinvinyl1523 Have you ever heard of Bolder Damn? Side one is not bad but side two has a fifteen-minute song that was a performance piece for them back in the early seventies. The singer would be sacrificed and have his heart ripped out (pig’s heart) and he’d be placed in a coffin from which he’d then resurrect. It’s a great song with some awesome heavy riffs. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O-1PL8aOeco.htmlsi=UPQ2jT1UbtJ1AVzm
Very limited Budgie on the steams I still need their debut JD Blackfoot is awesome 🔥I’ve had a bunch of stuff disappear from my playlists probably due to copyright laws Always seek out stuff I can’t steam Mandrake Memorial is cool Grannie is hard to find didn’t know a reissue came out recently I found a 80s unofficial at a record show great record 🔥 Agree on Truth & Janey Erupts it’s a banger 🤘🏻I remember the GG&F being on streaming then 💨 gone Take care Brian ☮️✨✌️
Too many great artists and bands’ albums aren’t on streaming as a whole, not just Spotify. It’s why my blood boils when someone claims that “anything ever recorded is on Spotify”. As if they’d never heard of royalty disputes, missing masters and long dead labels.😂
Hey man. Spotify has a lot of music, but they can't have everything. I love those lps and bands that you showed, I guess you just have to own the vinyl and throw it on the platter. Great stuff. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊
I agree that “Erupts” is better than “No Rest For The Wicked”. Way rawer and heavier for sure. Great showings here, and records everyone should hear. It’s cool to see your collection grow.
I'd say most of the albums I own are on spotify. Maybe like 1 in 5 or 1 in 10 aren't. I'm sure the number will decrease the more I collect haha. Thanks for watching ✌☮
I can usually find obscure albums in their entirety on RU-vid. Even if someone has digitized their vinyl LP for uploading. This is at least a decent way of previewing the music before venturing out to by the Vinyl LP. I would prefer to stream over Spotify.
@@NigelNaim indeed, like "undesputed crates" or "flac" or "hard to find vinyls" or "D.M.P.R" or my favorite one "lost hits of the 70s & 80s" whose channel keep getting taken down. but, like a phoenix ~ got a few flashdrives containing albums i woulda never known without the passionate work these channels do. the collection grows, hopes yours continues to as well cuz these records ought to get heard.
I totally feel the same way about these albums. I would add some albums repressed by Guerssen that were never added to streaming, like Homer, Short Cross, and Majic Ship. I also miss streaming Yesterday’s Children, but Ancient Grease will probably put it back up when they release their official reissue.
Yes totally! I wish I could stream the whole new Power of Zeus album! Yesterdays Children is one I still need, but I remember my friend telling me they took it off. Hopefully it comes back. Thanks for watching ✌☮
Frijid Pink’s debut album actually is on Spotify, but it has an alternative cover, and has a 2010 release date. But if you look for “Frijid Pink (Digitally Remastered)” you should find it! But still amazing video!
I think it is actually a bunch if re recordings if I remember correctly. I added them all to my playlist and then was disappointed when I played it. I'll go look again. Thanks for watching ✌☮
I've had horrible luck finding records on Marketplace. All I've run into are wackos that think their stuff is worth gold or they keep raising the price that they want for them because "someone" tells them they are worth a lot of money. I've had terrible experiences with that.
Gass eh? Now there's a name to conjure with. I only have the song 'Black Velvet' on a Polydor compilation. However, some years ago I struck up a conversation with Delisle Harper (their bass player) and was supposed to get first pick of his vinyl collection he intended selling off. Like so many of these arrangements; it came to nought.☹
Nice finds! Just curious about your approach to hitting up yard sales: Are you hitting up a bunch at a time and seeing who, if any, have records? Or do you check first to see if they have records before heading to them?
I would usually hit up a bunch and see who has records. Always ask them if they have any, its the way I got my best collections. I do seek them out on facebook marketplace, however, I usually end up buying more records at a totally unrelated yard sale on the same day haha. I love spending my Saturday mornings driving around and looking for records at yard sales. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching ✌☮
@@sorinvinyl1523 Nice one, thanks for the advice. I can never quite seem to find the ones with records or string them together to make it worth it somehow. I shall persevere! :)
@@tituschalk definitely do! Just remember to always ask! I only got the metal collection I bought in one of my other videos because I asked if they had any. I also try to stay where the houses look older. I usually don't find anything in newer looking developments. Good luck!
I would love to visit Noble Records, but existing in north Idaho makes visiting there difficult. I would also like to attend all the record shows that go on around the country, especially along the east coast. Unfortunately, this part of the country lacks BIG TIME in regard to events such as record shows. There’s one coming up in Oregon later this year that I will try to get to. Love the videos, Sorin. Keep ‘em comin’!
Its about a 7-8 hour drive from where I live, but I fortunately have family who live right by! Record shows are great. I'd love to go to a show out west. Thanks for watching and supporting! ✌☮
Cool. One of my best volume purchases was at a yard sale. Dylon cam to mind as I Was flipping through. $40 for around 70 records. Visiting him again month later and Got around 200 for a $100
I bought a few newer records, and I think I kept that Bruno Major for myself because it sounded interesting and wasn't like the rest of the blah pop I bought to sell. Now you got me thinking if I actually kept it. Yep, keep that shrink on. Everyone knows that on the average albums are worth more with shrink than without just like a sealed one is worth more than unsealed. In my book, there is no debate. Shrink wrap never hurt anybody and it's a myth that it warps records.
I really love Bruno Major. He's one of yhe few new artists I listen to. I have never torn shrink off, but I've taken really really ripped shrink off. I don't know how you could bring yourself to ripping the shrink off of a 50 year old album haha. Thanks for watching ✌☮
so cool you had a trip to noble records and picked up some cool albums, i have that ahmed jamal album thats great, picking up that uncensored the soft machine is for me the coolest album you showed, cheers sorin
Absolutely love your enthusiasm, but here's an advice for you pal.I have been a collector for 55 years now,and started out like you with a lot of poor condition records.I quite understand this due to euphoria of collecting, but later in life you will regret these purchases. They will be hard to sell,as the collectors will want more and more so called mint conditions. Not to spoil your joy of finding and collecting, but just a friendly advice.Keep on posting pal!!!
I've started to hone in more on worrying about condition. Most of my bad condition records I got for so cheap it doesn't even matter, but there are definitely many I paid too much for. I saw it more when I took my records to the record show. When they are less than $5 or like 75% cheaper then they would be in good shape, I still would probably buy it. I definitely understand now that they are much harder to sell. Thank you! ✌☮
@@sorinvinyl1523 Yeah, and again, not to spoil the pleasure for you.I have been there, and done the same.Oh.....the joy of picking up great vinyl maaaaan!!!You have the soul and spirit to be a great collector my friend.I have much the same taste in music as you.Really enjoy your uploads!!!I am from Norway,so check out my country's greatest band if you can.AUNT MARY-LOADED,and JANUS.Supergreat hard prog!
@@janrren125 Aunt Mary is awesome! I saw an original pressing of the self titled when I was in europe. The price was really fair, but thats still very expensive haha!
