I came across your Channel today and just watched your first video of your Airbnb New York Apartment. And I have some questions. 1. Since you just rent the property, isn`t their a issue with the landlord and you renting the Apartment on Airbnb while you are gone? 2. You said yourself, New York is cutting back on Airbnb rentals. What are you going to do, if you are affected? Assuming you signed a lease for a year? 3. What are you going to do, when the apartment isn`t renting out, while you are traveling? You still sitting on the rent and pay it out of pocket. 4. What are you doing (assuming you still rent this apartment as of today), when you get a squatter in there, refusing to move out (see the New York laws, which are squatter "friendly")? I know I am 4 years behind on your video, but I think that all are important questions and things to consider.
Neighborhood is improving every month all 3 homes on my corner have been purchased and being renovated. I'd encourage you to visit to see it for what it is
Love the reno. Something to consider in the bathroom. You might want to add a towel rack on the door (suction cup style for the glass) on the shower. I dislike staying a place and I have to get completely out the shower or tub and go across the bathroom to reach my towel. I don't see a place to put a loofa/washcloth, bar soap or shower gel in the shower. Also, The floating vanity is great idea but there's not enough room to place your toilettes.

If I want to buy an investment property and AirBnB it, are there any great property management companies that will look after the property and maintain it? Will the Italian laws allow for AirBnB?
I’m Brazilian but been living in Nevada since I was 15 so I consider the US my home.. I’m now 34 with an 11 yo daughter and have decided to take the leap and move to Brazil in August when my apartment lease is up. I have lots of family in Brazil( Espírito Santo) but I’m still super scared if we’ll get used to the lifestyle, but I feel it’s the right choice specially for my daughter. This interview gave me that extra reassurance I needed. I’m ready to start selling my stuff and make the move. Thank you! :)
@@Karl__Pierre I hope it is and I know it’ll be the best choice for my mental health. I don’t have an income plan yet. I’ll be doing my research and applying for some online jobs this weekend and hopefully I find something soon. If you know of anything that can help let me know please.
Great quality video ! Best of luck with the property. If you are interested in property investment in Europe, I suggest looking at France, where you can get an investment mortgage, 1-2% rates, and a down payment of just 10%. Rental market is pretty strong there as well and you could get a healthy portfolio with regular income from long term renters.
As a former estate agent, it is definitely a good idea to renovate homes with a feminin vibe that appeal to the women... They decide whether or not if herself and her husband are buying it 90% of the time !
In Alberta Canada, every grocery store has the coin returns, Costco is the only grocery place that doesnt, has been like that for longer than i can remember. But cool video, and looks like a great place to live.
Spain is more similar to southern USA & more connected by flights etc.. more organized and more international.. / Italy is less connected and less Americanized..
@@Karl__Pierre Objectively, studies have shown that the proliferation of Airbnb can lead to a decrease in available housing stock for long-term residents or for people who wish to settle and genuinely integrate permanently. This drives up rental prices and displaces local residents. ("The High Cost of Short-Term Rentals in New York City" - A report by the Housing Conservation Coordinators, Inc. *HCC*) Additionally, the influx of short-term renters can disrupt the social fabric of neighborhoods, as transient visitors may not have the same investment in the community as permanent residents. In understanding the objective surrounding 1 euro homes, you are not contributing. It appears you’re only building to take. Subjectively, many locals can often express frustration at the loss of community, identity and cohesion. In this light, traditional neighborhoods eventually transform into tourist hubs. Locals may cite changes in the character of their neighborhoods, such as increased noise levels, decreased safety perceptions, and a decline in local businesses catering to residents rather than tourists. As it appears you are doing… In relation to this perspective, I’ve personally experienced being priced out of my home town due to the ruthlessness expressed by the short term rental community. In my book, they’re economic predators. These people are rabid in their pursuit of exploiting local housing markets for financial gain. Of course, at the expense of the community's well-being.
Then again… most people are apathetic machines. If there’s money to be made, who cares about negative outcomes surrounding displacement and opportunistic exploitation. In relation to the issue at hand, most aim to morally undermine the toll of their actions. Reaching for “points” is a means of making ourselves feel better. So… whatever. 😉

Isn't there a market for Elective Residency Visa applicants who need a place to stay while exploring where they plan to live? Also, with the new Digital Nomad Visa, I would think your off season could do well.
Hi Karl, We are a Danish retired couple (university professor), We own already a habitable house in Cianciana (AG), and like Sicily very much. Do you have any ideas about what costs a habitable small house for renovation in Sardinia? We follow your videos with big interest. Have a nice day Valentina and Niels, Denmark
I think Sardinia and Sicily are very similar in this regards. Pockets near tourism will costs much more but plenty of low costs options. I'd recommend visiting and starting your research on the ground. I have yet so I don't have much more information unfortunately
Great video. I was born and raised in Tuscany and now I have been living in the U.S. for about 20 years. My home is now West Texas and I love it here as much I love Italy. I always divide people in two categories: people I like and this I don’t and they both come in all colors and shapes. Our ethnicity, skin color or other physical aspects don’t define us. Our choices in life do. If you are open to welcome people , you will be welcomed. All the best to you and your family. 🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇮🇹
