Her poor decision to cheat during this race will cause her entire running career to be scrutinized, and rightfully so. People never do things just once. 😂
This is so very disappointing. I've been a RC fan since around 2020 and have known Kate from there, along with all the other presenters all of whom are amateur runners, some great, some just average like me with all kinds of going well or badly on any running day. My favourite presenters are the one's that are just regular runners, like Anna, Sarah. Both are authentic battlers doing their best and most of us can relate to them because we know how they feel when we are just plodding along trying to get to the finish line, whether that be at Park Run or just a line in our training run. I am disappointed that Kate did not understand the value of authenticity. I hope she learns from this.
She cheated on one run. She manufactured a false gpx for her London Marathon and that's a not the same as cheating in a race. She has completely got away with the LLM half with her time still in the results even after everyone knew that she cut the course.
I feel sorry for this person, that they felt the need to cheat to get a better time. I saw her videos on the running channel when i was starting out on my running journey. This feels weird.
She is the best in the world!!! I saw the greatest horse to ever live - Secretariat - run in the Kentucky Derby. Now, I hope to see this magnificent runner run one day in person - in my opinion, Femke Bol is the Secretariat of female racing. I love this young lady - "go Femke Bol go!!!❤❤❤
This is more common than you think, Rosie Ruiz famousy cheated in the Boston Marathon and went to her grave still denying it. There was also Dr Frank Meza who committed suicide when he was found out to have cheated in many marathons. Pride and ego can ruin some people.
I'm actually running on the same HS team that Solinsky ran on, I can see why he was so successful. I've never met a group of guys or coaches that were so supportive.
Interesting story, thanks. While he's obviously a decent amateur runner. I find it somewhat comical that so much attention has been put on this guy who is not anywhere near discussion of elite, not from a top tier competition anyways. I'm not familiar with the event, but it looked to be lowkey, and nothing substantial. Yet this story somehow has garnered so much attention and research. As someone who likes to run in events of this caliber, I cannot imagine how'd I would feel if my experience were to result in some youtube documentary (not saying I'd cheat to win). ☠☠
You were way too generous. I would rather drive cross country in the back of a garbage truck to watch my nephew then watch a stream on FLO. Nice video though.
I immediately lose all respect for anyone that cheats. I don't care if you a great runner or mom of the year or whatever. When you cheat you deserve all the repercussions of doing so.
I love this story. I love that she walked away from something she was great at, despite the societal drive to pursue glory. I love that she doesn't do social media. This is a good human. Well done Claudia Lane.
I think we are all being petty. They should hold a competition for all these cheaters. And as a non runner. I have mad respect for anyone crazy enough to think it’s enjoyable… but to pretend to be good at something I wouldn’t tell anyone i respected. Truly shows this man have no place in you crazy people or my crazy people.. that’s why they cheat. He’s not even good at lying.. so what is he actually good at
Not surprising that an editor at that magazine would be involved with cheating. They were heavily promoting at 12 year old Canadian girl as a "prodigy" but every event this girl did "amazing" at were lesser known races with little to no publicity, so, this girl generated a lot of attention. I ran the Niagara Marathon where this girl did a "world record" run and the organizers were corrupt asf! 2 days before the event, they told runners that they were going to provide NO gels and even watered down the Gatorade provided. So, they took full funding but didn't provide things promised. Also, my GPS had nearly an extra km added to the course. And, yep, Running Magazine highlighted this girl's "amazing achievement" at an event that produces less than 1% of BQ times let alone actual participants.
Hmm 😂 tbh if I won race day before and finished say 200 th place I wouldn’t care I just accept one I was winded 2 better runners and 3 it’s amazing event Not do some Bs
How could anyone trust anything published with her as editor? If she is dishonest about her own records, how honest are anyone's published by her? In court they call this "fruit of a poisonous tree".. So if her records are sus, then everything she publishes has to be suspicious..
He should be allowed to run, but has to run with the B attachment, B for banned, that is, his number is banned from all records, he can run for fitness and health, to enjoy the event, but as punishment, 10 yrs should be enough time, for a 1st offence, run but as a Banned athlete.. Would be fair, his times not recorded, and he pays double entry fee..
You have to be extremely ill or extremely inexperienced to have missed the restroom. I've had the flu and run a marathon before. Cycled over 100 miles in one day with the flu. And heavy bag boxed for hours with the flu. I have luekopenia and have a weakened immune system but I have never missed the restroom from overexertion. I've thrown up plenty, but never missed the restroom from exercise.
Ok...let me try to present this discussion to anyone interested, without coming across as a total racist prick!? 😅 If a woman of color was dominating a field of white runners the same as Abby is dominating the predominantly black female athletes...every discussion would be about race. I haven't seen or heard the first mention anywhere on the subject when addressing the greatness of what Abby has been doing. 17:18
i hate it im the athlete yet i have to pay an outrageous subscription fee just to see my full list of results its a huge paywall especially for high school runners as even the fastest high school runners can still have money issues.
Amazing how much in denial this dude was, even with all the evidence. I mean, voluntarily providing his garmon data, even though he must have known it'd show the spike! That's just mind-boggling!
