In Germany, city of Bremen. Produced and broadcast live in one of the former television studios (Studio 3) of Radio Bremen on Hans-Bredow-Street (Bremen-Osterholz). Also watch the excellent Live T.Rex there: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9SG65dlho_o.htmlfeature=shared
My fav was and always will be the drummer. Saw them EVerywhere in NYC in the '70s - The Bottom Line when Hall sashayed out swinging her tail.... Epic show
I am a Roxy Music fan, and a Bryan Ferry fan, but the pompadour, the intense furrowed brows, and the waving talons of fingers, all harken to Gary Oldham's vampire persona from Coppola's Dracula film .... but maybe it was merely a similar intensity sought by both ....
The 5.1 sacd mix of Avalon is still considered one of the best surround mixes at 20 plus years. The Atmos version should only improve the listening experience. Some records benefit from immersive audio. Avalon is one of them.
This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Unfortunately I think the Atmos mix is really bad. Vocals are way too forward and dry, it loses all the dreamy ambient magic of the original. Drums are also much more hard edged. This album was supposed to be soft and mysterious, and this new mix throws it all away.
