yes, isn't it? and we did not understand why they could not have just robbed and escaped - there seems to be a piece of missing information in all of this - quite possibly because it was all translated. we think there was a deeper hidden story. The crime was unneccessary and it is particularly vicious to involve the child. 🤔
I love your new ‘Further Particulars’ section. I did chuckle to myself about the superstitions surrounding the skin of adders and the luck it brought then. In my mind, it’s lucky there’s one less snake slithering around. Great work, as usual 🙏🏽
😁. Ah, so no adder skins adorning your house we guess!😉 Thank you - glad you are liking that newer feature! We will be keeping it, but we are not sure how we will be continuing it after October - things to decide....it may be a continuation of odd stories...not sure. Thank you so very much for your feedback! We really do take on board all feedback - much appreciated!🙏
This was a very intriguing and yet "heartbreaking," case of a murder of a married woman with four young children for financial gains. I'm thrilled that ultimately justice was served for one of the perpetrators. Do you know whatever happened to Mr. Rasch and his four children? Great investigation, presentation, backstory, illustrations, photos, and videos, too. Take care 🦋
You are right - it is a sad case!😔 We do not know what happend to mr Rasch or family - we were very concerned about the poor little girl - that was a heavy burden to place on her at any age. We are guessing Mr Rasch was more hesitant about running a lodging house and who he took in! We do know that pregnant Mrs K went back to germany with help. 🧐
Well, that's one way to cover up a crime from being discovered - get the victim's child to play the piano extra loudly while said crime is taking place!! How sinisterly sneaky!! I wonder what happened to the widowed Mr Rasch and their poor children when the dust settled?! You told this story excellently, Robin and team!! BRAVO!! ❤👏👍💞
Thank you - we still actually find this quite shocking from two standpoints. The child is almost like an indirect accessory and the poor mother - that is the last she hears as she tries to get help. creepy creepy creepy! No, sorry - we do not know what happened to the family although we are going to guess they became much more hesitant about running a lodging house!.😉 We do know Mrs koczula, with help, went back home to germany. As for the mysterious missing man who supposedly did the crime - we see that the Victorians were just as sceptical as we are today about mysterious missing people who actually did the crimes...🙄
@@nadiabrook7871 Yes, the whole thing reminds us very much of our modern version: The aliens did it. It is true that the goods that had been stolen were not recovered. It was said that there was a Kempf and that he had returned to the continent the day after the murder. however, there was no tie of the kempf with anyone at the scene. Was this just a name that he knew and threw out to police as he knew that the person had left the area? Difficult. With very limited english, other than the children who spoke English, the police were hampered in their investigations. However, due to what was deemed as an extreme act - the use of a child truly upset people - there was not a chance that the police or jury would let him go. Someone had to pay.🕵
Great to hear from you!! 👍Well, to our mind - getting the victim's child to play the piano - and in essence, become a contributor indirectly for the crime to be committed against their own mother is fairly creepy to us. But perhaps we are overly sensitive?🤔
Hmmm. an interesting theory. 🧐 We don't think so - we think he did it all on his own. The girlfriend apparently seemed utterly shocked by it all. Also, in those days, neighbours saw EVERYTHING. If she had spent any time in the neighbourhood, she would have been remembered we believe. 🔎
As always I very much enjoyed your video. This case was a very sad one. As far as the 2nd that was very creepy. Of course phones have changed so much since then. Now days the ghost call offering to lone you money to pay off your collage loans or sell you a very good deal of britcoins 😉 R.C and team thank you for all your hard work putting out these videos for us to enjoy. Wishing you all the best. Take care
Thank you! 🙏 Hurrah! 💫. Gosh, you were with us from around the 500 mark we believe! 🤔 We so very much apologise to you if you were watching theshow with all the adverts - so very sorry about that! We are working very hard on some new inititives for the channels (uthe grewta unveil will be in about 1 month) and forgot to go back and take the adverts out after processing. Apologies,. Hope it was not too disruptive. 😔
VERY sorry everyone for the huge number of adverts! We got waylaid by other tasks and fogot to go back and turn them off. Sorry sorry sorry! We are now back to our normal programming...😉
@@zero_bs_tolerance8646 Yes, it is the only way we make any money at all (which is not much), but who likes to watch anything where you have to go through an ad every 5 minutes? Our own policy is 2 adverts, about 10 minutes apart around the beginning for a show under 45 minutes. We make a lot less money (which is why we have a fan support page with ad free episodes and extras on patreon) but we hope the shows are still enjoyable for everyone. Thank you though, very very much, for your understanding and support!🙏 We know we always say it, but truly -greatly appreciated by all of us here!🙌🙌
😁 Thank you! Very kind!🙌 So very vrey sorry for all the adverts! We have rectified this now. So sorry - we upload and then have to wait for it to process. We forgot to go back and take them out. Apologies. Despite the adverts, "we hope you enjoyed the show"😉 did you like the creepy phone voices form the dead at the end?🧐
Good morning! We apologise ofr hte many many adverts! We have to wait a few hours for the episode to process once uploaded - we forgot to go back and take them out. We hope it was not too disruptive for you!🤞 yes poor Lydia! 😔 The first report stated the infant had been left with her, but later reports did not say anything of it so we think that was incorrect initially. The house had a lodger - the family heard the door close shortly after the thumps, but they thought it was the lodger leaving for work! An interetsing case we thought - glad you liked!🙏
It makes no sense that Lydia could shoot herself multiple times!! She tried to protect herself, as the wounds in her hands proved. Currel and his defense team were clutching at straws with that scenario!! The letter was also weird. He claimed to be sorry, yet appeared to blame Lydia for her demise!! It made no sense whatsoever!! I'm glad Currel paid for his crime!! BRAVO on this EXCELLENT episode, Robin and team!! 👏👍❤💞
Thank you! 🙏 We soooo apologise baout all the adverts! When we upload we have to wait a few hours and then go back and take them out - we forgot due to loads of thngs we are working on (whhc we talked to you about before 😉) Sorry. Hope it was not too disruptive. Yes - currell - the whole "she shot herself 4 times" is just so...clutching at straws as you say! And the letter! 📩 The handwriting expert was certain it was him - so not sure what that was about. We find the case so interesting as well with the police markers that would come into play 1 year later.🧐
Fascinating story in the Further Particulars. I had no idea that such calls were made so early in the history of that so necessary tool! Since he never heard a voice, maybe it was simply the magnetics of the phone and energies of the spirits that collided? But the crank needed turning so that deepens the mystery. Love this story, thank you!
😁Thank you! We have lots of these odd collected stories. We will be putting them in the further particulars for each of the episodes for the reat of October. the 30th will be a full epeisode of these types of stories. Thank you! The feedback is much appreciated!🙏
We guess so!! 👍Hope you are enjoying! 🙏 New one coming up in a few hours....1887 - 2 miles north of whitechapel....😉 Preview is here: www.patreon.com/posts/lydia-green-that-114190511?Link&
It feels like to me,if you can 👀/count Emily 's ribs, some malnutrition?,I'm going by my own school sport time,I couldn't 👀 any on any of us,as the same age 7ish,R.I.P Sweet little 👼,A Good Presentation as usual 👋 Robin & Co🤔
Excellent point!👍Malnutrition was rife in Georgian / Victorian times - bless her. Our ememory is that her home was standard lower middle class. Gosh he was a mega creep. 😈
Thank you for putting together this in depth video on William Chester Minor. I chose him for my final exam case study paper in my Psychopathology course. This provided great interest and research jumping off points.
How kind!🙏🙏 - and how interestng for you!! We hope that was a success for you! 🙌 There was real sadness within Broadmoor when he left. We still owe him thanks for his tremendous conrtibutions to the English language. His mental illness was a tragedy for himself and the poor man who was so unfortunate to be in the worng place at the wrong time.😔 Thank you very kindly for your kind comment and kind support!🙏 We, the News of the Time team, wish you all success!
Thank you - so very glad you liked! 🙏 If you have not seen it already, we suggest checking out the crime compilations playlist - over two hours of stories in each episode. Thank you so much for the kind comment and support!🙏
Historically, there is real doubt that she did it. It is beleived she took the fall, possibly at the insistence of her father due to the scandal, and that the perp was someone in the house. 🧐
How cold-hearted Devereaux was. He should've just walked away. He would've been a deadbeat and there would be lots of crying and recriminations but everyone would be alive. A very cruel crime. Thanks very much. Enjoyed.
Thank you - glad you enjoyed.!🙏 Edwardian laws were still severe regarding husbands / fathers who did not pay for their fmailies and he would have been in jail and had a percentage of his earnings taken from all of his employment to be put towards his wife and children. There are cases even later than edwardian were the father or husband who has absocnded is pursued relentlessly. But yes - you would think there would have been other options for him to take!🧐
As always I very much enjoyed your video. This one was a very sad case. I have often wondered if people who are consent lyers don't start to believe there own lyers. This case seems to prove that they do. R.C and team thank you for all your hard work putting out these videos for us to enjoy. I hope you all are doing well. Take Care
Oh - our reply did not take! Trying again... Yes, agreed!👍And well spotted! Yes, many many of those we cover seem to have a propensity of lying - and lying with ease! And what seems ot go with it, hand in hand, is a belief that of course people will believe them. We are guessing they think this because their lying has worked in the past repeatedly. His astonishment in court is a great example of this. He was the only person surprised by the verdict. He seemed to think that everyone would beleive him. Wow - the judge verbally shredded him.⚖️
well said!👍Our thoughts went to little remaining Stanley - what a burden he would have carried for the rest of his life! 😔And thank goodness for the persistent mother! Without her he may have gotten away with it!🧐
This was a "heartbreaking and horrific," case of a triple murder of a mother and her twin infant sons. I'm thrilled that justice was served and the husband received the ultimate penalty. Do you know whatever happened to the couple's young son? Also, the mother-in-law? Great investigation, presentation, backstory, illustrations, photos, and videos, too. Take care 🦋
No,we have no followup on either, although we imagine the grandmother took young Stanley in.🧐 The crimes would have been quite a burden for Stanley to bear for the rest of his life. 😔And what was interesting in this crime is that no one saw it coming. In interviews with neighbours everyone said that it seemed like a normal family. And really, the only reason that could be adduced was that he did it to rid himself of the financial burden. There was no other woman waiting in the wings.
What a VERY sad story!! My heart goes out to poor Mrs Gregory and little Stanley!! As for Diabolical Devereux, what a DISGUSTING individual he was!! Then, he had the AUDACITY to blame poor Beatrice for his crimes!! I'm glad he got his just desserts!! I thoroughly enjoyed this, Robin!! Thanks for sharing!! ❤💞👍👏
Thank you - so glad you liked! 🙏 Stanley actually did make it - he had been removed by Devereaux to a school (but Scotland yard did not know that initially - they thought he had been buried elsewhere). 🕵️ Poor Beatrice, and the twins, porobably did not in any way see it coming. And the grandmother - OMG - to identify the bodies of the grandchildren by the nightdresses she had made for them! How tremendously awful!😔
Thank you! 🙏 It is that same theme where he seemed to think that just because he said he did not do it, everyone would beleive him. His surprise in the court house was a surprise. The poor woman and children. We are sure she did not see it coming,😔

Thank you for introducing yourself! Lovely to have you and thank you for supporting us!🙏
I can’t help but wonder if the first story was actually the mother changing her story only to protect her son from a certain death sentence. Like even tho he killed her, she still loved him enough to take the fall and protect him …🤔
Excellent point! 👍 the thought crossed our minds too... the papers and officials impressions was that she had actually set him up in her usual drunken state. But.... a woman who was an alcoholic at the itme was thought of in the worst possible way. It is possible that they took that view due to her addiction. Either way - poor lad. 😔
